So I just found this. I was a massive follower of Pro Jared back in the day so it was a HUGE surprise to me to see this! I haven't watched his reactions yet, but considering he finished the game, I'm guessing he liked it?
I love seeing people’s reactions to the Re:Translated. It is amazing that these voice actors played the part very well and can’t wait for Kingdom Hearts 2’s translation.
I can't believe anyone had the.. money? time? I mean how do you do something that massive It's kind of a shame google translate has gotten so good, that this is only a -little- absurd. Not like some of those paper mario ones. Also how is it possible they were able to change _3d sign graphics_ but not the main regular text of the game?
@@KairuHakubi I can tell you exactly how we did it. Time and a lot of dedication. It started off as a youtube series (And it still is) so we already had 90% of the dialogue already done. As for changing signs but not text, we tried to change the text but every time we did, the game corrupted so we left it as it is. The signs however are just textures. So while they are 3D objects, they are wrapped with 2D textures which are easy to change.
Dude. Mentioning Emperor's New Groove, and Road to El Dorado, then citing the most memorable thing about Sword in the Stone being the squirrel part resonated so hard with me.
At 1:35:00 Jared says “I remember getting really lost in this game.” Me: *ptsd flashbacks of Jared getting lost by turning the wrong way in the same place 10 times or walking right past the thing for an hour* You don’t say? Love you Jared 😂
I always think something that's really awesome about bringing back disney voice actors is that they got the woman who voiced alice in the movie as a kid reprise her role at like 70 or 80
This will be my first experience with Kingdom Hearts. I know exactly zero about it except it is a Tales of style action RPG that has Disney characters in it (for some reason). I'm sure this will only go well.
So update: this game is a hot mess and I love it. It reminds me a lot of Metal Gear Rising. It's a tiny bit of actually cool stuff buried in a mountain of "stuff you thought was cool when you were in middle school". Also I took a drink at the wrong time and have had wine come out my nose, it is a surprisingly painful experience and I do not recommend it.
KH having a full on convoluted anime plot mixed into what is basically a Disney themepark will always be funny to me. Making it even funnier seems appropriate, I'm here for the ride.
Actually it was the genie from Aladdin 2 because robin was boycotting Disney because of a breach of contract for the promotion of Aladdin 1. They finally apologized after a change of management and he did come back for Aladdin 3 but that was it.
I held off for a bit, just in case I ever wanted to play KH myself someday. But I've thought about it, and I don't care enough about spoilers not to watch this first haha
re: your KH lore rant Yeah, totally. The first one had what I could say is a cohesive story. Then they went fucking insane and added so much random bullshit that it just became a burden and not fun anymore.
@@lankthedank6931 I don’t see the fun in it. The only amusement I found were all of the poorly-translated bits, and they’re not even part of the real game. If other people find this series enjoyable, then good on them, but I just don’t see it, and I’ve been gaming since the NES. Jared doesn’t seem to care for the game, either.
Dictators... protecting 'borders'... Donald straight up asking Daisy to take care of him... the fuck is this beautiful thing? I'm not even an hour into it and already Kingdom Hearts went from a mocked franchise to rivalling Yakuza! Also Donald saying "Daisy would kill me" means he's INTO it, but doesn't want to upset his wife... think about that.
