I love the little moment where Henk smiles and nods at Emma, like a father or mentor encouraging his child or student to keep doing what they're doing, because he knows Emma (and himself too, of course) absolutely nailed their performance.

Henk Poort is a fully trained Bariton Opera singer from Amsterdam and his mother was an Opera singer too (Who get casted as a Tenor often)👀 Some time after his studies he moved to and lived in Italy for 14 years and studied under an Italian Opera Meastro🐱‍👤 And Emma Heester is awesome 🎶

Henk and Emma did give us a truly beautiful duet here and it showcases the talents they have perfectly. One talent i am still most impressed by that Henk has, and always had... anyone who gets to sing with him is pulled into "the Henk zone". And with that i mean, he has this calming and assuring demeanor that creates a sort of safe zone for the other singer so they are able to give all they have without fear of failure. Ofc Emma would not fail anyway but you can see how at ease she is, how she basically feels safe and protected by the gentle demeanor of Henk. This is for sure one of the highlights of the season.

Finally someone amazing tackling this and appreciating it as much as it deserves. ♥ You've already gotten all the important Henk @ Beste Zangers recommendations, but make sure to check out more of Emma's solos and duets as well! Especially "Strong", a song written by Floor which she sang for her; "El Universo" is great if you're in the need for happy summer vibes; and from the latest musical (theatre) version of Beste Zangers, "Out Here on My Own" and "Beauty and the Beast". Her RU-vid covers are totally worth listening to as well, e. g. "My Heart Will Go On"!

Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova - the most unique young talented singer. One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising RU-vid recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills. I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French and English. The covers she performed on that show are very popular on RU-vid. Many RU-vidrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse" and others. Please react to one of Diana's songs and I promise she will surprise you.

When I was watching the show when it was released I kind of discounted Emma at first. Then as the show went on I realized she was very good and I was wrong to be so quick to judge her. I suggest you take a listen to another song from the show. Here she sings in Dutch, Rolf sings in Spanish. I totally agree. I personally found her performance in the first episode dedicated to Henk, where she performed "Sex Machine", not that great. But she more than made up for it with "Strong", "Vivo Per Lei" and "Pa Olvidarte", amongst others.

Indeed, Henk also knows Andrea Bocelli personally, he lived only a couple of small towns away from where Andrea lives and was introduced to him at some point. He tells the story either during the first episode of Beste Zangers, which was dedicated to him, or during this last episode with all the duets.

Not such a big surprise for me. She had the largest musical YT channel in the Netherlands at the time this was filmed (and I hope she still does; she totally deserves all the recognition she gets). At the time, it was all cover songs, she had not made any originals until after this show. Very accomplished for her age, just GORGEOUS sound she can produce). :)

But seeing how this series can be a big step in their career and just filmed in a few days with lots of out-of-comfortzone songs, it can have some singers disappoint and others shine even more, it sure has been a mix of that in the last 10 years. The Belgium version with Sharon den Adel wasn't bad either btw.

Small note. "Io vivo per lei" translates into "I live for her", not "I live for you". The "her" in the song is not a person but the music. In Italian music, "musica", is female (pretty much everything has a gender in Italian) hence "lei" female third person singular.

The original is by ORO, and it's great, a duet by two men in a beautiful composition. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jz020VgYh44.html Better known are the cover versions of Andrea Bocelli with female singers. This one is in between, modern music arrangement with classic male and modern female voice. Vivo per lei (la musica) means I live for it (the music) but in Italian music is a female word, so it's a little vague in the beginning what/who the song is dedicated to. That gives it a deeper meaning that cannot be translated into English.

I get why you've fallen into the rabbit hole of Floor Jansen since she might be the most talented female singer in the world, even though for me, I have no interest in Nightwish, she rules. I do have other female artists who I admire and enjoy perhaps more because I find - and again, for me - their music a bit more accessible. Floor's work on Beste' Zangers was my introduction with her and I was immediately captivated. That being said, there are a couple of other singers who's style and talent are undeniable - Haley Reinhart being one, and the other is Diana Ankudinova (who you might not be all that familiar with and if not try this introduction to her musical chops at age 15 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8wkHr6Hvnuk.html ). This is indeed indeed unbelivable and unique: pure enjoyment! If you like to see/hear something further complete unbelivable, unique and new in cover world that Emma is doing since last year is producing covers on YT in English of Hindi/Punjabi/Urdu (in short the Indian subcontinent) super songs. So far she did already 11 covers. It beguns with Sayad, see ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xtpIfc8xtOo.html. Now she is in healthy concurrence with another beautiful cover singer from India called AiSh. They produce more or less the same covers, Aish in Hindi and Emma in English. They have much in common. The Subcontinent is enjoying this whole thing very much.

@@BigBrainSinger Only the greatest male vocalist on Earth right now, Dimash Kudaibergen. He has a RU-vid channel of his own and he is just fine with people reacting to his content. But there are some performances owned by other companies, so you must be careful. He exploded onto the world stage in 2017 when he agreed to join a Chinese talent show called The Singer. He was the wild card because he is from Kazakhstan, and the first foreigner to be invited to that show. He was also the youngest contestant, at 22 years ole then. His first performance was the first of the season, the opener. I really feel for whoever followed him up... For Episode One he sang a French song (just look up Dimash SOS The Singer; it should take you right to it). I suggest going through all of his performances on that show in chronological order before moving to more recent stuff. And keep in mind, time has passed so his language skills have improved along with his music. He's a real professional and a perfectionist, so of course he improves constantly. When I say Best Vocalist In The World, I really mean that. You'll see that for yourself if/ when you check him out. :)

Thank you for your reactions, you are doing great. I like 'Beste Zangers' a lot. But I don't like the loud reactions of the people on the couch. Why can't they react silently? This is so disrespectful.
