Sorry Mark, but I 'm not sure you can categorise people who are critical of our government and its response to the pandemic as 'doom mongers' or 'negative.' I don't think anyone - except the really twisted - actively wants things to be bad, but we should keep a careful eye on the way the government is handling the crisis and call them out if it seems they are misleading, or outright lying to us. After all, over 10, 000 have died, lots of doctors and nurses are still saying they don't have adequate protection, the Health Minister tried to shift the blame the other day by implying NHS staff are to blame for using too much PPE, and we, the general population, have no idea what needs to be in place before the lock-down can start to be relaxed. All the epidemiology experts I know, some who have authored books all think lockdown was too late. It was pretty clear from the off they were doing the wrong thing. If it was about timing, as you say they would have made better preparations for testing, ppe and ventilators. They made a big u turn when they published the imperial college study.

Mark, your government should've clearly went into quarantine sooner, they had plenty of time to react. All you have to do is look at what they did in New Zealand & Taiwan. I'm from NZ & I was really hoping at the time your country would go into quarantine asap. Yes you'd get some angry people going into lockdown early, domestic abuse etc. but think of all the lives they would've saved, plus going into quarantine early means spending less time in lockdown, less angry people, less domestic abuse cases. I think Oasis is massively underrated. One of my favorite songs was Lyla from their 2005 album. That was my introduction. Of course Morning Glory, Champagne Supernova, The Masterplan, Don't Look Back in Anger and Wonderwall are some of my favorites. Their first couple of albums were really good and authentic
My mrs works for GSK at one of their several UK bases. Once they have a vaccine, the amount of production across the world that this company among others is mental. Once they have a vaccine it will be mass produced instantly. GSK have been working on one since mid january. Im very confident of a vaccine this year.
