I'm sorry but i really hope this pronoun stuff goes on the backburner in the future because it just seems insane to me that people put so much value on such a minute detail that has never been a problem in most of history. I'm from Honduras, where i lived the most progressive thing was just gays/lesbians. Nobody asked for pronouns because it was just what you are, male or female. But the U.S. feels like it just kept digging deeper till the pit was too high to climb.

My opinion in short is, every word can be offensive, but it's not offensive everytime. Regarding pronouns, I've no problem with "them", but I'm not sure how I feel about neopronouns. I believe that you can't force someone to remember and address you in a way they don't understand and also I don't believe in violence and aggression over these things. Sometimes the best solution is too avoid confrontation.

I think people need to consider the intent more important than the words.

That is almost quite literally just an Internet thing. People just try to courteous for the most part and respond accordingly to the pronouns. To me all this word is saying are your pronouns and what you were assigned as at birth. This is much too broad to get litterally any image in my head. This term was explicitly made to be derogatory. This was not a term made by AFAB nonbinary people, it was made by right-wingers who wanted a slur to describe us. It's hard to reclaim something when it used to be a derogatory term, but even though it has been done before, it has not nearly been this fast. 2. It really, REALLY does not matter what your birth gender is when you're nonbinary. The whole point is NOT identifying with gender roles! What "theyfab" is doing is splitting up an already marginalized community by enforcing the idea that there is a "difference" between AFAB and AMAB nonbinary people, when that really just isn't true. 3. If you've been in the nonbinary space for as long as I have, or at LEAST for a little while, you'd know that nonbinary people are already seen as "white women trying to cosplay". I think you can understand the issue here without me drilling it into your head. These stereotypes, which "theyfab" is DIRECTLY SUPPORTING, are incorrect and damaging to the nonbinary community. Nonbinary people are already seen as "Women 2.0", we do not need a fucking slur to remind us of that. This entire idea is damaging to both AMAB nonbinary people and AFAB nonbinary people, not to mention Intersex people as well.
