And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why you shouldn't bring your personal feelings into your work life. Because you end up with a terrible ending and piss off a lot of people
Doctor4077 right with you that’s when you know you fucked up on a show when you mix personal and business and then continue with dry predictable stories that no longer make any sense
I won't lie. Seasons 9 & 11 are pretty good. In Season 9, Ashton Kutcher does a good job and has a much more eccentric personality in the Season. Pretty much he's a man-child. Season 11 is only good because Amber Tamblyn steals the show. A lesbian womanizer. What's not to love?
Psyberologist I stopped watching the whole show when Charlie left due to the fact that the show in general got stale and chapters didn’t make any sense
This was one of the top 2 worst endings of all time that I've ever seen. Rather then wrap up stories regarding Alan and Walden, Chuck went out of his way to break the fourth wall to give a giant middle finger to Charlie.
I only found the first couple seasons good to be quite honest. At least up until about season 5. Season 9 was TaaHM at its worst because of having to retool everything, but the last couple seasons that still had Charlie around were terrible. I started noticing the decline somewhere around the time Chelsea was introduced, and it just seemed like Charlie stopped trying. Plus, Jake was dumbed down WAY too much by that point.
I still found some enjoyment out of show when Ashton took over. There was a ton of dirty jokes and humor which I thought was hilarious and loved. But this ending just completely destroyed the remaining goodwill i had for this show.
***** I agree completely. I think I stopped enjoying the show after season 6 and seasons 3-5 were my favorite. I thought it was ridiculous when they had Charlie start obsessing over Rose.. I get that it was ironic but it just seemed stupid to me. Having Rose be a stalker neighbor was one thing but the idea of her being this intelligent and manipulative psycho with access to all this shit never really did it for me.
That entire finale was nothing more than an infantile bashing of Charlie Sheen for something that happened years ago. Charlie has done some questionable things no doubt, but after this finale it seems like Mr. Lorre is still butthurt a lot. What a douche. After the "How I Met Your Mother" finale, I thought it couldn't get a lot worse but this was just plain embarassing. Truly the worst series finale of all time to a comedy series that was once one of the very best. Chuck Lorre just gave us all the middle finger!
***** That's up for debate but the entire last season was about Robin and Barney and their wedding and then in the final episode boom - divorce. In my opinion that made the entire last season pointless except for Ted meeting the mother but then again she died in the final episode so yeah that season was pretty much pointless. Also I didn't like what they did with Barney. After the divorce his entire character progress was thrown out of the window. Then he gets a baby from some woman we never even get to see. I know Robin and Ted ending up together was planned from the beginning but if you ask me, the series developed in a different direction over time so in the end it seemed unfitting. But that's just my opinion.
SplinterX1990 I do get the feeling like they tried to cram way to much into the final. I wouldn't have been so sour on the ending if they did it over the entire season or even half of it.
St KRU Thanks for the tip dude but I can't watch these videos. I'm German so I actually understand every word they're saying which makes it hard to concentrate on the subs :D
I totaly feel the same way but it's 70% Charlie Sheen's fucking fault. I've read the things he said to Lorre and the cast, he was MEAN. Lorre even offered him a cameo in this but he refused because it's against drugs and don't forget he is an addict. So thanks to Charlie Sheen's ego the ending sucked.
yo26721 i thought we would've seen him in the last couple minutes instead he was crushed by the piano which was sad because i was really looking forward to seeing him again
@@irregulargamer1352 I actually gave the newer seasons a fair chance and season 9 and season 11 are actually refreshing. I know fans of the show don't want to hear it but the show was already starting to lose it's quality and touch around S6.
Looking back, I realize one thing: Chuck Lorre never separated Charlie Sheen and Charlie Harper. That's why when Charlie behaved, he wrote the character as a lovable uncle with a heart of gold. In season 8, we saw Charlie's character change into a pathetic doofus as Lorre was getting pissed off. In here, he's a drug-addled maniac, because that's the way Lorre pictured him. Also, anyone else think it would've been way funnier if the stunt double had been Lorre himself?
They should of added this: After the piano fell on Chuck Lorre, camera should of cut to show Charlie with a pair of cutters with a cut rope and he said 'Oh you won alright.'
"winning".... This Chuck Lorre guy, should just have let the show end without Charlie. This ending just shows how a pittyful / sad / and small person he is
Supposedly Charlie sheen wanted to come back for the finale episode and even had a great idea for it as well. Chuck Lorre didn't want to make it happen and made this finale
4 years later Chuck Lorre is STILL mad. How petty and vindictive can you get? The whole finale was about ragging on Charlie Sheen, and then they end it with this shit. It's like a revenge fantasy written by a spoilt, petulant child. What an awful finale, what a small man Chuck is.
seasons 9-12 was ragging on charlie. in almost every episode there was some dumb joke about Charlie’s drug use or mental problems. This was just icing on the cake to what was a pathetic show after season 8.
I can’t stand and completely despise Chuck as a creator and a human being…because of this single tv series ending scene. I refuse to watch any of his garbage now.
I care less about the piano than I do about the fact that this finale was basically Cryer, Kutcher and everyone else standing up and telling the audience that it was all just a TV show and they can go home now. Which is admittedly unique, but probably the least satisfying way to end that anyone could've come up with.
The vanity card at the end still pisses me off to this day. Lorre essentially wanted to end the series by reminding everyone of the reason why Charlie was fired from the show, because of his drug addiction, and then still kill him, meanwhile Charlie wanted to end the series on a high note with a reunion of the family and Lorre basically said “Nah were gonna kill you anyways, minus the monologue”
@@hahanice2273 They could have. Sheen was in fact interested in coming back for the final episode. But Chuck refused and wanted to make fun of him instead
I'm gonna be completely honest now. I didn't give the show a chance after Charlie left. I thought that, no Charlie=No show. But then, for some reason, I decided to give it a shot as the show approached its final episode. So I started out on season 9, and kept watching, and even though it felt like a very different show, it wasn't bad. I enjoyed the seasons after Charlie left. They weren't bad, they were just different, and Ashton did a good job. I actually liked the seasons, something I didn't think I would. HOWEVER! This final episode was the worst, f*cking thing I've ever seen. So much hype built up, both with commercials and interviews beforehand, and during the episode. It wasn't just a middlefinger to Charlie himself, it was a middlefinger to all of his fans who watched it and just waited for him to make a return, and we didn't even get to see his face. Not only that, but the show didn't even end properly. I was expecting a proper goodbye with Walden, Alan, Berta and Jake. I was expecting Alan to finally move out and take a goodbye, I was expecting a reunion with Charlie and Alan. It felt like a completely open and pointless ending to a good show...
i find it odd that they would still be salty about Charlie Sheen enough to waste the ending of this show with one more jab at him i mean he hasn't been on the show for like 3 years at least try to give closer to the characters who are still on the show. not to mention is this ending saying that the whole 2 and a half Men universe was just a show the whole time i mean they never really broke the 4th wall like this before
WwwWario yeah it seems like the ending didn’t do anything but try to insult Charlie and make him seem like the bad guy (though he did make some bad decisions in real life) but still, it just leaves us off with nothing but where we were at the beginning of season nine.charlie being dead.nothing even changed.
In my case, I watched the first 3 episodes of season 9, and they were not so bad. Then it became so lame that I didn´t watch it except for the finale (only out of curiosity).
@@mateoairaudo5535 the funniest parts after Charlie left was seeing Jake grown up smoking weed with his douche foolish friend which was also Alans gf's son, that was actually pretty realistic haha. I like always best remember the post charlie episodes to the one where Jake and his friend burn down the computer lab they were given jobs for by walden by downloading porn and smoking weed hahahahahahahahahaha, hilarious.
Well actually the show did a lot of humour relating to Charlies first "death" (he gave ME herpes). Also its funny because Charlie Sheen behaved like an ass towards Chuck Lorre and made the production of the show a living hell so its funny seeing Lorre get some payback.
Chuck lorre said - Winning- .... He didn't win, he lost to Charlie Harper (Sheen). He had to bring the show to an end when he realised that it was no longer good without Charlie.
Chuck.: Oh hi Charlie Sheen, we had a rough couple of years but now with finale how about we bury the hatchet and give the fans some closure? Sheen: Sure,I've had a lot to think about, fighting HIV, going of drugs and all that, I was thinking Charlie could have a heartwarming speech thanking the viewers and maybe lay down some ground for a sequel? Chuck: Nah I was thinking we spit you and your character in the face, mock your mental unstableness and drug problems and then we drop a piano on you. where are you going? aww geez fans, at least I tried.
The ending of The Big Bang Theory is somewhat perfect for the series and even makes people cry who haven't seen the show in years. The ending of How I Met Your Mother is not perfect and could've been way better but still makes sense if they had left in the removed scenes (+there is an alternative ending which is kind of pleasing) The ending of Two and a Half Men is... not funny, disturbing, disrespectful to all participating and a undeserved middle finger to Charlie Sheen and all fans of the series.
I am extremely satisfied that Charlie knows about Walden. Extremely satisfied, however, there could have been an interesting rabbit hole of who legally owns the house, Charlie or Walden. That could have been an interesting premise. Further, it also really upsets me that Jenny never met her cousin Jake. If it were up to me, Alan would finally get his lucky break and come across some money.
I completed two and half men today and I totally agree with you.. today only I searched about two and a half men and got to know why Charlee left and everything every controversy so that I don't have spoilers but seriously I enjoyed and loved every season I mean every episode made me laugh but the ending somewhat dissapointed me... the ending big bang theory was perfect.. i think that two and a half men handled the leaving of main star better than the office..overall I really liked two and a half men. It was a great 2 months of my life.
Chuck Lorre is Charlie(chuck) it’s his catharsis Chuck Lorre was exactly like Charlie a boozing drug addled lucky womanizing douche Got sober or used less and wrote about it. Check his shows. Mom=rehab Theme of his shows his life in segments. For the most part. IMHO
This is how "Game of Thrones" is going to end: Sam Tarly sits down and begins writing "A Song of Ice and Fire". One timeskip later, and we see that he's completed it. He turns to the audience, and we see it's George R. R. Martin. He grins and says "Finished!" before someone drops the Iron Throne on top of him.
This ending was the biggest middle finger to any of the fans of the show during the Charlie-era. I stopped watching after Charlie Sheen was booted, but even so, how could Chuck be such a bitter asshole? You take a character that fans loved, you kill him off, and then in the last episode you bring him back in the most unrealistic way, turn him into a killer for some reason, and then kill him off again....with a piano?!?! Fuck YOU Lorre. You ruined a once great series because of your immature, petty bullshit.
If you look at the ending of the previous episode, it feels like a proper conclusion to the show. I think he knew this would just be a middle finger to Charlie and wrote that as the real ending...
This finale pissed me off royally. Chuck Lorre trolled the audience all the way through because he wanted to prove a fucking point. The point he made was that everything that Charlie Sheen Saud about him was true.
Chuck Lorre: "Losing!" This was the most awful finale of all time! It was an insult to the series, to the fans, and to Sheen. Although I'm glad that they FINALLY cancelled "The Ashton Kutcher Show". It was just painful watching, barely entertaining, and it distanced itself so much from the original shown (which ended with Season 8; the seasons after that were just awful and do not deserve the label "Two and a Half Men"). Charlie Sheen: "Winning!" (Go "The Harpers"!)
This was so fucking bad. I cannot believe that Charlie Sheen didn't make a cameo, but I don't blame him. I know why he didn't, it was because he didn't like what Chuck had in mind, but if he had, it would've redeemed these past few lackluster seasons. They build up all this suspense, saying Charlie is alive, then they have the nerve to use some stupid double and have the character killed anyway. Ridiculous. Fuck Chuck Lorre and fuck Hollywood. #Losing
8 years later and I'm still pissed off. I remember watching this ending at my grandma's place and feeling like "really ? the producer ruined his tv show to piss off one GUY ?"
When its all said and done, nobody was talking about Cryer, Kutcher or anyone else. Charlie Sheen pretty much carried the whole show with just his name. He made the whole show without even showing up. Now that is Winning!
That's how they ended it? Well, that was terrible. I liked it with Charlie, but after he left, I only saw the first episode with Ashton Kutcher & thought it sucked. After watching this... it looks like I really didn't miss much. I feel that was very disrespectful and a huge slap in the face
No one of you understand this ending? He sais he's winning because Charlie and him argued, and he fired Charlie, but then another piano falls because he lost, too, firing Charlie.
When I was a little kid, I liked this show soooo much! We watched it with my parents when it was on TV. But when Sheen got kicked out, even my 7 year old ass knew the show was not the same without him and we stopped watching it. When zhe final episode aired we was like "okay, since this is the last, let's see"..... Well,we was just sitting there feeling super uncomfortable and embarassed. When even a young kid can tell your show went real bad,you know something is wrong.
***** you mean the show that has zero character development and uses every sitcom cliche that ever existed? yeah, definitely better than TAAHM and HIMYM in their prime...
Haha, looking forward to the Big Bang Theory finale xD Maybe then people will finally realize that Chuck Lorre has never been able to write something good...
@@beatsbyelvis6890 A half ass attempt of a jab at someone's username because they said something bad about your favorite show (I know, what a fucking crime) is pretty lame if you ask me.
123vinimaxo456 I hope this show happens. But I don't want Lorre directing it. Him and Sheen will just get in another bitch fit and ruin the show. Like they did with this.
And the Two and a Half Men became a sort of cartoon show for kids where pianos fall out of the sky on people in the most ridiculous way possible. I don't blame Charlie Sheen for not wanting to come back for this shit. I mean, really, imagine being an actor and some director tells you he wants you to do some crazy things and then have a piano fall on you as if you're Bugs Bunny or something? Absolutely ridiculous. What's worse, I know there are stupid fans out there who will consider this ending great. Chuck Lorre has proven himself as a hack and nothing more than a childish, juvenile director. I feel sorry for the people who still watch The Big Bang Theory as Chuck's biggest work which I think it's Two and a Half Men got this treatment, then think what would TBBT would get? Let's not even talk about how TBBT makes fun at geeks rather than laughing with geeks.
For the record Chuck has nothing to do with Big Bang. Steve Moloro took over as head writer a few years ago. And the cast still get on, and its a healthy working environment. Thats the difference, Big Bang is fine have you seen the ratings? lol. It has 17 mill last week, the final of Taahm had 13...
Really? Laughing at geeks rather than with them? Your really pulling this out of your ass now aren't you? First off its a comedy they're not making fun of anyone and if they ARE making fun of anyone its non-comic fans or geeks as your douche self would say it, because most of the jokes on the show non-comic or SciFi fans won't get. I've been reading comics for 10 years, I watch Star Trek and I love 80s SciFi movies(B2TFuture, Ghostbusters etc) and love science and all they're jokes AND cameo stars(such as Stan the Man Lee) have been great. What I'm guessing is you like none of the things I've listed and you just read online blogs ABOUT TBBT instead of watching it.
Chuck was an asshole. Charlie sheen was willing to come back if they could do a nice ending with him reconciling with Alan, and starting another series called “the harpers”. Chuck opted for the piano instead.
JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS I DID NOT WRITE THIS! But I teared up reading it so I'm gonna post in here. Mr Chuck Lorre, Hang your head in shame. After writing such a wonderful show, for so many years, you had one last obligation, a final duty of care to the shows wonderful fans, to facilitate a befitting end to an iconic comedy series. Instead you used the finale for purely self serving reasons. No matter what personal issues you shared with Charlie Sheen, it had to be put to one side, because they were not even 1% as important as closing the show properly. You said and I quote: '”I think we’re going to have a finale you’re going to be very pleased with. "It would be inappropriate to not acknowledge the extraordinary success we had with Charlie and how grateful I am, we all are, to his contributions. And there’s nothing but great feelings for the eight-and-a-half years we worked together. How to honor both (eras of the show) is the challenge of this finale. And the other challenge is how to get people to watch it without telling them what it is.” I’m very proud of what we did here with Charlie, I’m very proud of those shows,” Lorre said. “I watch some of those shows and I’m so proud - because you forget, it was a long time ago … [and] to end the show appropriately you literally have to end two incarnations of Two and a Half Men and bring together a lot of threads. I didn’t want to end it without acknowledging the past" You lied Chuck. You f'n lied bad. For one hour, possibly the most important hour of the shows life, you proceeded to rip Charlie to pieces, with petty, bitter and desperate jibes. That's a real odd way to 'acknowledge the extraordinary success you had with Charlie and how grateful you are' You then saw fit to close the show with a note to the fans, stating that you asked Charlie to come back but he didn't want to, under your terms, so instead you offer up tales of him having sex with goats, and then in the final scene proceed to drop a piano on a Charlie look alike. What happened to honouring his era? Even without reaching agreement with Charlie Sheen, you could have still done so, but off course that was never really going to happen was it Chuck. Because you lied. You lied for ratings. You never wanted too. If you wanted to, you could have. Your the writer. What a petty, bitter man. Instead You had one chance Chuck. It was all on you. You had the power to make millions of people happy, fans of both eras of the show. To keep to your word. To sign the show off in a befitting and respectful manner. You fell short, by a Malibu ocean. To say you failed is an understatement. You served up a car crash, and you limped out of it looking like a real small man. Instead this will likely go down as the worst finale in TV history. But hey, as long as your ego's in tact huh. Gary P.S you should have learnt after series 8.... No Charlie, no party. #Winning.
This had to be one of the worst endings to a show ever. Personally I’d have tweaked the ending so that Alan opened the door to find Charlie standing there and we keep it on Alan’s face.
And this is the dreadful ending of what once was one of the best sitcoms of the 2000´s. Big Bang Theory fans may forgive Chuck Lorre but I´m never gonna be able to no matter how good people say The Kominsky Method is. Kudos for Jon Cryer for trying to keep the show together after Charlie got fired.
It's funny how there are so many old comments of absolutely butt hurt fans, while most recent comments are so possitive I also love the ending, Charlie Sheen almost killed the show with his behavior, and Chuck Lorre had his reveng years later through this episode His characters live a happy life while charlie is killed by his own piano. Poetic
I don't get this ending... I just don't fucking get it!!! U know how I imagined two and a Half Men ending? Alan finally moves out after marrying some elderly woman to leech off of, Walden getting married finally with a baby on the way, Berta retiring and Charlie being a homeless drunk begging for change and maybe then (Chuck Loree could say "winning"). Louis... He runs away. Ya sorry Louis, but u were boring and u just really grinded my gears.
I got curious about what the ending of this show wound up being like and after reading the wiki I thought there was no way it could be true... This must have been immensely disappointing to the few true fans this show still had I actually feel bad for you guys.
Was there any, really? Chuck basically said f**k you to all his fans and future fans. He doesn’t deserve the amount of fame he has. Nothing has been funny of his even before he did this. His shows are mediocre at best.
