No special reason. The 4030 is a good machine though and also works well with wood and aluminum. I plan on putting the Carbide router back on the 4030 soon since I just got a VFD spindle for my other machine.
Great video , I’m doing that … could you show us some more info on a alloy bed , I’m waiting for mine and wondered if there are any issues installing it .
I didn't have any issues installing the aluminum bed. The mounting holes are pre-drilled and lined perfectly to the holes in the 6060 expansion rails. I would recommend some extra support for the aluminum bed, it's pretty solid and a little heavy.
Needs serious revision. Gantry wheels super tight with flat spots out of the box. Loosing the screws is not the answer. They need to make them adjustable, even later with wear they will need adjustment. Way to much slop in the ends of the lead screws at the bearing interface. Really sad to miss the mark on easy fixes. Just returned mine to Amazon. thanks for vid, very cool
