You once talked about mongolian style if I remember correctly. I think it was when you talked about your matches at the world championship and you expected a mongolian opponent and thought that this would be a good matchup since thanks to your coaches you have good experience with that style. Could you talk more about that (or show). What dou you mean, how do they fight and how can you counter them. I don't know much about different styles of sambo and think it's interesting. In mma fights for example they say which background the fighter is from and they say the name of the sport (wrestling, judo, sambo, muay thai...). So it seems like the style of fighters of a sport are generally the same. However it makes sence that different people practice other styles. However I only ever heard of mongolian style.
I would recommend doing a Judo and/or BJJ for grappling and kick boxing for striking. You can also just do mma and ask some guys at a mma gym if they can wear a gi top and train extra. We have tournaments all over the US through Sambo Nation. You can definitely come compete if you get some experience in any of those disciplines.
I would say Judo and Muay Thai. That’s because you get all the strikes you will need and you learn grappling with the gi. Wrestling and Boxing you miss out too much on the gi, kicks, knees and elbows.
