Hi Mate, I too had a longing for an R1 - so I got one ! I had a 2017 R1M, had a full Akrapovic, Woolich tune with Autoblipper, OZ GASS Wheels, Brembo HPK Discs & RCS19 Master Cylinder with EBC-GPFAX Pads, I had the Ohlins ERS-Suspension Upgrade kit fitted, Gilles clip-ons, Gilles protection, It cost me a bomb ! as good as it was, it was a pain to set up and get 'right' for me, and I was never as comfortable or as fast on it as my RSV4 (I had a 2017 RSV4 too at the same time - because why not!) I had it 2 years but in the end I conceded no mater what I did it was never going to suit me as well as my RSV4 .... So I sold it & traded my 2017 RSV4 RF in for a 2019 1100 Factory !! YES what a bike !! best bike to ride fast and in control, not be intimidated / out of my depth, I nipped under 1:38 at Donington GP on it stock with just the mirrors and number plate removed & an end can - that's over 4 seconds quicker than I was on the R1M after all the mods!
S K Wowww mate, what a comment. Unbelievable, you really had a proper weapon with that R1 and I am so glad you were using the GP4FAX pads. I highly rate them and I was going to do a video on them comparing them to Z04 at Donington but then rain came. I cannot comprehend what 1 min 38 under feels like that’s a bloody fast time, I best is a 1 min 42 and I couldn’t go any faster than that last year, this year I was 1 min 48 after crash , that felt slow but seemed fast at the same time. Hard to explain. I highly rate the 2019 1100 factory mate, that’s the best bike going . I am super impressed with your R1 spec , it’s clever spec not just putting things on for the sake of it . But if you did below 1 min 38 on totally stock 1100 factory, that is just unreal . Sylvian Guintoli did a 1 min 37 on a stock Suzuki gsxr 2017, you should be well proud of that time mate 🍻
@@ChasingTenths The crazy thing is I was always hovering around 1:42 on my 2017 RSV4 RF, but when I got the 1100 I did a Trackday and another guy I was 'dicing' with told me I was riding the bike 'wrong' - now bare in mind I used to race SS400 then Stock 1000 many years ago, I am now nearly 50, he simply said I was spending too much time on the side of the tyre and needed to use the power more, I changed my line in a couple corners - that's all, I did a 1:42 with traffic like it was easy then I got a clear track and bang 1:37.9... surprised doesn't come close ! With my R1M, if I did a 1:43 I felt like I was on the limit. As far as pads go, I used to be a fan of SBS Race Sinter - and to be honest Brembo stock pads which are brilliant - but I tried some EBC-GPFAX 2 years ago and wow, super impressed with the power and feel, easily as good as Z04 if you ask me and cheaper. I was mega happy as I read the PB test when Rutter did a 1:37.3 before tweaks then got to a 1:36. something .... so as a slightly older and rounder bloke being just 1.5 secs off Rutter was great !
Mostly Motorbikes I have no idea about the adverts mate, how many are you getting? I am new to all this adverts mate, I pay £15 a month for RU-vid and I get RU-vid music with it (just like Spotify it is) , so I never see adverts ever for about a year now. Are they annoying? How long are they ? .... thanks for watching them lol. I have no idea if that helps me lol
Chasing Tenths got two ads mate watched them all. With 1000 subs (depending on your watch hours) you should be eligible for the partnership program and be able to link an Adsense account. So you can show ads on your videos and earn a few 0.001% of penny’s haha
Mostly Motorbikes hahaha, yeah I did get an email from RU-vid about this partnership thing . But I took not much notice and I’ve been thinking to look into it properly . I will do that tonight for sure
Great video.. shame you don’t have the list of the upgrades on these bikes.. have to replay and see how many I can find.. really enjoying your videos.. thanks
Most welcome, apologies , that video was done in a hurry as the bikes were leaving for Mugello and it was raining on and off too .. i couldn’t list everything .. but thank you for the kind words .. I have done one recently with a 2008 Yamaha r1 , that has some amazing upgrades too
Nice one Abhi, always interesting and no fluff! I'm like you, a big fan of the RSV4 but I can't deny having my head turned by the R1 at times! Your friends 'Superstock' version is very special! Thanks mate, always great to watch!
Clive Shalice it’s so nice to be appreciated for the videos mate. It really feels special , I love the R1 and many times been tempted by them but I am just an RSV4 guy through and through , there’s something about them as you know
great video thanks for showing. i'm updating my bike now and had no idea that the throttle and the clip ons, which is what I am struggling with, are so different on a race bike... Going to make some changes now! loved the video, only thing I could ask is, please match the level of audio from your video to the music at the end, damn RIP head phone users, including myself! LOL ears ringing now! lol
Hahaha Shane I know , that audio was a pain that day I realised the music was too loud in the end These days I have a software which sorts it out Thanks for appreciating it The whole point is to give people ideas on what they can do to have sensible upgrades mate
Hey Great review on two awesome bikes. I used to eat sleep ride and repeat Yamaha R1, until 2020. Eat sleep ride and repeat Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC! I had the choices, so could have bought one of these, but wow I am glad I chose the Aprilia cos you get the closest thing to a race bike straight outa the box. R1s still have my attention though, just second to an RSV4!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Gio Verde fantastic choice I must say lol. I am bias towards RSV4 too , love that bike It’s the best handling bike out there and so much smoother power delivery
Nice work Abhi 👌🏽 I’m just starting off doing track days and I’ve upgraded my Zx10R to a similar spec to the red R1. Best to prepare for a crash than not lol
Benjamin Lawrence absolutely mate , when I had my crash last year . The only think which saved extreme damage was too much protection I put on the bike.... would love to see some pics of your zx10r . Send the pics to chasing tenths Facebook page . And specs , I love zx10r , I don’t think UK media does justice when they reviewing them , they keep mentioning lack of power low revs
I do love myself an R1 ❤ hope you're well bud, I'm sure I was out in fast group with that blue R1 at Donington last year🤔 speaking of which, doing donny on the 3rd of Sept.
VeteranVlogger I am very well mate thank you for asking . You might have been , the previous bloke on the R1 was rapid as hell. I got no donni booked now , got Silverstone and brands hatch gp which will be my first track day there
Thanks mate, really appreciate you watching the video. and yeah, I wish sometimes I would have not sold my mugello slot but to be honest its for better, I am sure next year after all this Covid thing has calmed, I'll go again plus finances will be better too I hope
great vid. I do have a concern with the exhaust noise in some racetracks. some are around 98dB, how have you managed to pass that with these exhausts? i've kept mine OEM stock for that reason.
Hi mate , thank you for appreciating the videos , the new Akrapovic exhaust with the long baffle is not too bad and the other bike has long pipe were exhaust with a long baffle and both the exhausts keep the noise under 102db which is ok for 90 percent of the UK days
I know I’d pick the blue one. What an excellent build. Any idea of price difference between them both? I know it wouldn’t matter to me I’d go with all the trick bits
M Motorcycles well you would be surprised, the red one was more than the other one lol, my mate got it at a really good price , because the previous owner unfortunately had a crash on another bike so he wanted to sell the bike a bit cheaper
gttpete hahahahahaha, mate good one, actually the sun was right behind me and top and it reflected big time on the white t shirt which made it look smudgy and I couldn’t move the bikes the other way as I didn’t wish to show my mate’s house and cars 🤷♂️... but it did rain for 5 seconds so it could have made the lense a bit funny 😂... great spot though
You know there’s a FULL functioning vehicle profiler in the TDG app? Recording all the bike settings and adding comments per circuit. Saved in the app or exported as a PDF. Just saying...
To improve racing , the best upgrade is to upgrade the skills with track time and coaching , I have thousands of pounds of upgrades on my Aprilia but the best investment I ever made is to get coaching from ex racers
@@ChasingTenths haha I was like wtf why did he sell the aprilia 🤣 and what could he possibly replace it with XD Anyways thanks for the cool and very informative videos! Regular Indian viewer from the UAE! 😁
Sourav Satheesh fantastic mate, I am so glad for the UAE support. So impressed lately by the biking scene there. Rather than showing sleazy crap show off upgrades I just try to show meaningful upgrades which lead to better times on track and rider confidence
@@ChasingTenths thank you for that, haven't come across any channel yet that goes into such detail about performance parts and the difference etc, even if there are your presentation makes it unique, feels like I am sitting with u and am a part of it 😁, absolutely brilliant 💯🔥 waiting for more videos and a lot more of aprilia!!! Absolutely love the bike and very little content of the aprilia is on RU-vid in comparison to other bikes, always looking out for aprilia videos, infact that how I found out this channel 😅 Cheers bro 👍
Yup it’s a very good friend’s bike We are often on the track together . You will see this bike in its new livery on my tomorrow’s Silverstone track vlog It’s an absolute missile on track Churning nearly 200 bhp
@@ChasingTenths R1s are stupid fast. In the last track day I went as a guest, there was an army of ducati v4's that were destroying everything in sight. But this souped up r1 (2016 or 2018) and a buddy's s1000rr were the only bikes to give them a run for their money. Sadly no rsv4s. Zx10r and gixxers were being eaten alive
@@greyanaroth yes mate , in the right hands any bike is lethal . I was at Jerez Spain not too long ago , we had a 13 year old kid on a 250 cc bike eating everything up in its way . Amazing talent
