two days at the glacier, part 1 

This Video was done at the southern part of Upernavik Isstroem glacier front. The whole calving
front has a length of more than 30 km. It is an overwhelming experience to just let the boat drift
there for many hours, watch the calving, here the glacier rumbling and thundering and feel the calving
waves passing the boat.
Since 1976 the Upernavik Isstroem has retreated appr. 7 km
in the area where we have cruised.
We found anchorages and passages which on the map are still
coloured white, indicating glacier
coverage.
The second part of the video will show regions of the glacierfront,
where the retreat can be seen very obviously.
