So frustrating! I don’t understand what Gypsy could possibly be doing. Also, the results of sterilizing some females causing them to become kidnappers or psychologically damaged can destabilize the troop. It’s just so sad to watch them longing for babies of their own.
Reddy deserves all the praise she’s getting, and I also adore how caring Dimpy is towards her little brother Dipsy in both videos so far. In the first she seems to be trying to prevent Tammy from taking Dipsy by sticking close to him, and in this one she comforts him with her presence by going over to him while he’s kidnapped and distressed. Glad he wasn’t with Tammy too long, and she treated him well aside from refusing to return him to Reddy. I hate to see the wriggly little guy upset, but Dipsy’s coos, cries and lip smacking were super cute.
These sterilized females do not try to hurt babies, they just want t hold and pretend to nurse. It's cruel that they purpose in life has been taken away by humans.

I wish all photographers would explain what they r filming and who they r filming like u do, it's always so nice to watch ur videos and not be lost at the moment and time, I'm never left in the dark trying to figure out what is going on, so thank you so very much for that!! U r great at ur job!!!
Don't mess with Reddy when it comes to her children. Excellent Mom and knows how to nurture and wean her babies to grow into independent adults. Another great video Arroz! Thanks for posting!
Reddy is such a wonderful mom. IMO, she is the best. She truly, truly cares for their well being and all her kids turn out so good. She’s 100 percent committed
I don't think any of the mothers "forget" if their baby cries in another's possession. They just don't care. They know their babies wil be just fine with their closest kin. Its all part of learning to live in the hierarchy.
Arroz, I think you are right saying Gyspy is not right in the head. I wish we knew more about her mom and how she was raised. Then we might know if it is behavioral or just a mental issue. Sure hope her girls are better mothers.

You don't steal one of Reddy's babies and get away with it for long...it simply isn't done. I think Dipsy has a bit of a temper with all that caterwauling and the grumpy faces he was making. He reminds me so much of Bobbin when he makes the frowny faces. As for Gypsy, that old muttonhead has gone completely 'round the bend! I don't know how her kids manage to survive to adulthood. Kneely must be some kind of privileged character to rate time at the milk bar while her baby sister goes hungry.

Hi Sally, it is sad because Reddy can take her baby back because she and Tammy are approximately the same ranking. You are 100% correct! She is a kick butt mom and did a great job. I wish Gypsy had the opportunity or ability to do the same. She has no family or support other than her babies. If she tried to take Kailey back she would get her butt kicked not only by Rudy but all the hierarchy. This whole thing just stinks! All my best to you, hope to chat soon.

Thank God Reddy finally came back??? Why??? Dipsy was never in harms way or being mistreated. I cant stand watching these babies that go absolutely ape-shit when the milk bar isn't within their reach. They need to learn not to be so defiant when in another Troupe member's possession being well cared for. Its ridiculous.

Wow, Gypsy is also back to pulling fur out while grooming. For a while she’d stopped and was grooming properly, I wonder what happened. For her to nurse her yearling and refuse her baby is just weird. I feel so sorry for Kailey. She doesn’t look happy and she’s so skinny.

Tracy DuPree If you haven’t realized by now, Gypsy is of very low social standing. The monks that have taken Kailey away have been sterilized females of higher rank. It’s not her fault Kailey gets taken away & there’s nothing she can do abt it. That’s how monkey social structure is & there’s nothing you, I, or anyone else can do abt it. That’s how Nature weeds out the weak, babies die (even as I type this) in Nature; that’s just a cold, hard fact of life. I’m profoundly sorry you & the other Neighborhood Moms can’t accept this fact & fail to see this when you/others let their emotions run their mouths.
I hope someone will answer this. I don’t usually get a response, but I will try. Does anyone know if another family member ever helped the mom get her baby back from a kidnapper? Example of what I mean…Tammy is mostly focused on where Reddy is and what she’s doing. A family member of Reddys could distract Twmmy and Reddy could grab her baby???

Can these monkeys rise in rank? I know they *inherit* rank from the mother but Reddy seems to be thriving compared to when you introduced us to the troop so long ago. She is treated better and her coat is thicker and fuller. I always understood that the lower the rank, the more sparse and poor the coat. I guess from less food and grooming. Reddy seems to be doing better. Maybe after managing to raise Dopey, without both of them being torn apart by Bossy, she found confidence that she could handle *anything.*
I got startled at the 8:25ish mark when Reddy tried to get her baby…the music made me jump 😂. Now that I know what a very loving & protective mom she is, I’m surprised it took her that long to try the first time.
Kailey is so tiny & skinny I fear for her. Reddi is very attentive & alert when it comes to her babies Tammie sees Reddy and runs kidnapping poor Dispy

The videographer isn't there 24/7 so he can only film what he happens to see. Most likely this wasn't a forceful kidnapping. Monkey moms very often rely on babysitters in the troop, but the understanding is that when its time to give the baby back to nurse and be comforted by mom, that you give it back to mom. This is a case of the babysitter refusing to give the baby back because she wants a baby of her own so badly.

@Arroz Marisco This is so frustrating to watch! Is Tammy higher ranking than Reddy or is Reddy just concerned for Dipsy’s safety and is taking it slowly. I also noticed Reddy’s face always gets more ref when she’s distressed.
