Whenever I watch reaction videos such as yours I’m reminded that I’m 55 years old now. Bands like Spandau Ballet belonged to the biggest acts of the 80s, they were part of a genre called New Romantics. If you enjoy Gold you definitely should listen to their song True.
Nice one ladies. If you think this one gave you the feels, you should listen to Spandau Ballet's 'Through The Barricades': it's a love story set in The Troubles in Northen Ireland, partly inspired by the murder of a guy who had worked for the band. If you want another example of the 'classy & romantic' strand of '80s pop, try the band ABC: 'The Look Of Love' and 'All Of My Heart' are both good.
Ahhhh Spandau ballet! A great new wave band from the early 80s! They have many great songs, their number one song was “True” and the other one I really like is “Lifeline” both came out in 1983. You girls should listen to those two songs! I think you’ll enjoy them! Great reaction!👌😎👍👉♥️
Great reaction, thank you! Spandau Ballet's biggest hit was "True", but this song is probably better known now, if only because it's always used for medal-winning montages in TV coverage of the Olympics or other sports events... they launched themselves during the New Romantic movement of the early 80s, and had a bunch of hits in the UK, including an incredibly funky one called "Chant No. 1 (I Don't Need This Pressure On)", but my favourite is a lesser-played one called "Only When You Leave", a fantastic pop-soul song... Would love to see you react to more songs from the 80s, keep smiling!
As a rocker gal growing up in the 80's, I was always open to a variety of music. I recall hearing this song for the first time. Not something I would listen to but when their most popular song TRUE hit the airwaves, I was hooked. They are a mixture of New Wave/Soul/R&B! A great sound. The 80's had such a variety of music to choose from. My stereo system was always on. Great video reaction yet again. It is good to see the two of you reacting to such a wide range of music. Keep up the great work! Love & Blessings! 💖
Thank you Suzy! We are happy that you liked this reaction! I'll let our dad know about "true!" BTW, we are going live this Sunday at 2:00PM we hope to see you there! LOL!
@@danasfaith5738 you are so welcome! I believe quite a few people commented for the two of you to listen to TRUE next. It was their biggest hit, in the 80's. You both might have heard it before. It has been featured in tv shows & movies. Yeah, thanks for the heads-up about going live on Sunday. That day works for me. I will for sure be watching so count me in. I am looking forward to it! Enjoy your day as it is TGIF! 💖💖💖💖
In the 80's , the English singers were wearing nice clothes , to seduce the feminine audience. Now , there are numerous holes in their clothes. :( The famous new wave band , ABC with " The Look Of Love " could be a very good choice. The English band wears always nice clothes , during their 2022 tour. :)
Great band. My favorite song of them is "Through the barricades". Some suggestions in a similar style: - OMD - "Enola gay" - The Beautiful south - "Don't marry her", "Good as gold", "A little time" - Cock Robin - "The promise you made" Or if you're in the mood for a good cry, try this younger (relatively) band: - Live - "Lightning crashes"
THIS is my favorite song by Spandau Ballet. And I can tell you gals both really enjoyed it too. What a wonderful melody. I didn't even know what the lyrics are, lol! Very cool choice, thanks sis's. Great call for the Golden Buzzer! 😂
Hey DF save your golden buzzer for Spandau Ballet's big hit 'True'. Much better than this song imo. The song was ok but you girls are always great!!! Keep 'em coming!👍👏
Hey ladies what a lovely reaction I to am reminded of the 80s disco’s where young men wore suits and young ladies danced around there hand bags love the way Juliet’s face lights up it’s so nice that your appreciating some great tunes from a great time that means so much to so many thanks ladies yet again for the memories
@@turntablesrockmyworld9315 You couldn't be more wrong. Immorality, proud degeneracy, etc... rules the modern world today. The innocence of the past is long gone. Society now is pure toxic garbage.
Gary Kemp (the band's guitarist, pianist, song writer) wrote Gold as if it were a James Bond theme. It's still an epic anthem, much prefer it over their bigger hit "True". People at Parties, Pubs, Karaoke etc still belt out "Gold"
Love being transported back to my youth with the youth of today hearing for the first time...as others have commented already it was a privilage to have bands such as Spandau....Duran...A-Ha...to grow up with...i can reccomend Through The Barricades from Spandau or and Duran Duran for a reaction...keep up the great work girls xx
Tony Hadley's voice is the only reason the band is good Here he is singing it with an orchestra several years back. His voice is still amazing! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fPAdcl4m2Zg.html
Hi Girls ♥ When they showed up on the Music scene I was big into Rock-A-Billy and Old Country and Blues so I never really got them but my girlfriend at that time liked their song True
Please react to Pentatonix' Daft Punk medley or 90's Dance Medley - the first won a Grammy and both have literally millions of views - you will chair dance!
Nice review! A great band that was very well known in the eighties and had many, many hits. Fun fact: The brothers Gary Kemp, who plays the guitar in Spandau Ballet, and (especially) Martin Kemp, the bass player, are now more or less well-known actors. I'm pretty sure you've seen both of them in movies.
Well known actors? Gary had a small part in The Bodyguard, then Hoolywood spit him out and Martin was on a British soap opera now riding the coattails of his more famous son. 😂😂😂😂
I have always thought of Spandau Ballet as the "Poor Mans" Roxy Music, you girls should check them out as they set off on their 50th anniversary tour, try the Roxy track "Out of the Blue" with its amazing closing solo!!
This band is my childhood, my youth! I was born in 1975, in Berlin/Germany-East. An absolute classic! There are still so many brilliant and extraordinary artists/bands in the 1980s! If you two are interested, I'll give you dozens more wonderful songs from the eighties and nineties of the last century!
You have to listen Visage's Fade to grey, the epithom of New romantic. Visage were ex Ultravox band formers and Steve Strange (rip), that band was the "mother" of New romantic.
