1:59 “Did he just take every monster and just jam it into his deck?!” Canonically, yes! Before training with Yugi’s Grandpa, Joey’s deck was just a pile of monsters with nothing else. He truly was like a few of us as kids.
I remember as a middle and high school kid my little brothers friends all have are just monster cards in their decks and still want to challenge me because I got them cards also. I told them that I don't want to duel them due to their decks too weak and they call me weak, so I was like all right let duel. I went against all 7 of them and spend 2 hours dueling them. Each of them lost more 15 duels and I lost none. Pretty much that I went from a record +105-0. I still wasn't happy because I need someone who tougher so I can strengthen my blue eyes, dark magician, and beat down decks
“Did he get every single monster and jam in his deck?” Fun fact: when yugi looked at joeys deck for the first time it apparently had nothing but monsters lol
I get that the decks are pre-made, but that weevil deck is not for the first season. His Duelist Kingdom deck was mostly just a lot of normal insects. Also, half of the cards Doto was playing came out later
@@DKong100 No, I won't give you that the only things off about Rhymes deck are the fusion materials for Giltia and Flame Swordsman, which were normal monsters in the anime. And before you say it, for Summoned Skull and Time Machine by anime rules of graverobber, he is taking those cards from his opponents. The only caveat left is Sword Arm of Dragon that is shown in his hand in the dub when he duels Rex, which he could change to Kuriboh because that is what it was in the sub
@@giagas3517 Wtf are you on about, LMFAO. First off, cards in the hand never count as part of the player's actual deck. 9/10 the cards in a player's hand are not consistent whether it be sub or dub, and are for the most part random. It's only after 5Ds that you can make this argument because 5Ds is the series in which CG became a staple part of the series' animation. Which allowed for increased consistency over small and trivial details such as player hands. Chainsaw Insect, Insect Knight, Shield Worm, Verdant Sanctuary, Worm Bait, Spider Egg, and Lair Wire don't exist until 5D's. Insect Queen and Insect Barrier doesn't exist until Battle City. Jade Insect Whistle was released in the Invasion of Chaos set which is a GX era set. No, just fucking no, LMFAO, Grave Robber doesn't fucking do that whatsoever. Yes, it takes an opponent's card during the duel, but it doesn't fucking just let you outright steal your opponent's card for for-fucking-ever, LMFAO! What are you 6 years old? Time Machine is Bandit Keith's card, Sword Arm of Dragon is Rex's card, and Summoned Skull is Yugi's card. Mad Sword Beast was used by Duke in his duel with Joey. Joey uses Sword Hunter and Goblin Attack Force in this duel. This duel is also post Duelist Kingdom.
That Weevil deck was basically his Battle City deck fused with his Duelist Kingdom deck. Not quite the theme, but he probably didn’t play 40 cards in the 1st series
Part of Joey's arc was being better at deck building. I guess this deck is from the start of duelist kingdom. His deck at the end is kind of different.
As someone returning to the game since, well the first two original starter decks I appreciate this type of content. It's simple and familiar and you guys are like two friends playing at a kitchen table. A lot of content creators for master duels have me turning away. I just subbed. This is funny shit.
in like the first episode of yugioh, i believe joey talked to yugi and asked him why he couldnt ever win, and he showed him his cards and literally didnt have a single magic or spell card. it wasnt until he got on the boat that he actually started picking up a select few spell/trap
Darknecrofear was tecnically used in the final of the battle city tournament... Bakura vs Yugi when he summoned slifer the sky dragon against yami bakura
Joey didn't have sword hunter in his deck till after DK(ep 46) so Rhyme won with a non canon card at the time. It might take a bit longer but ya'll should use yugipedia to get more precise deck lists.
I don’t wanna make changes yet. I did go through the remaining decks and for the most part, they’re as accurate as can be. Some cards here and there may be questionable but nothing crazy unbalance wise. I think it’ll be fine to finish as is. When we do season 2, will be more accurate
I mean, the Weevil deck was full of Battle City cards, too. DK just didn't show enough cards for a 40 card deck, so they had to do something to fill it.
A little caveat could be cool, at least for next season. If you roll a character, you can also throw in any cards that depict that character. Joey can have Yu-Jo friendship tossed in, unity and I guess symbol of friendship The Pharaoh (or I guess Yugi) can have Yu-Jo friendship, Unity, symbol of friendship, and Judgement of the Pharaoh. That's If you are able to craft them/ if you've pulled them, I'm not sure if you can craft them but I do believe they are in the game. You all could decide "is kaibaman kaiba? Or is he just a mascot character for kaibaland"
How do you use pre made decks of characters ? If someone could tell me that’ll be awesome so me and my friend can play with actual decks from the anime
I remember the good ole days of books a million in the early 2000's when spell ruler was still magic ruler. There were a few kids that had decks exaclty like that. We didn't hang out with them because we realized they were stupid. (we were all the same age)
while the Weevil deck may have been closer to his Battle City deck i do feel like doing that was kinda on brand for Weevil if walked into this sorta competition so don't have much issue with it
Ngl, I kept expecting Doto to draw Insect Queen and obliterate Rhyme in that final duel. Lol. He had Forest and an equip spell, along with a bunch of weak insect monsters on the field to tribute/power it up. Would have been the perfect out.
