The Canberra Railway Museum congratulates Qantas on the donation and successful landing of the ‘City of Canberra’ Boeing 747-400, VH-OJA, to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society at Albion Park, NSW, on 8 March 2015. While the ‘City of Canberra’ Jumbo Jet will be permanently retired, our Beyer-Garratt steam locomotive, 6029 - named ‘City of Canberra’ on 25 February 2015 - is just beginning a new operating life hauling passengers on heritage trains. The giant steam locomotive is the largest operating in the Southern Hemisphere.
