Oh, I had forgotten how cute he was! I totally fell in love with him when I saw "Two Lane Blacktop". There's a calm, humble nature to his speech. His songs were on the radio all the time when I was young. He's the anti-Elvis when it came to movie actor/rock star. Elvis was this highly glossed product. J.T. seemed more like a guy who brings his guitar over to your house for dinner. I think I smoked pot for the first time listening to Sweet Baby James. Man, are we getting old or what!
'WAS' such a babe? I thought men got sexier as we got older? Oh well. LOL As for his music, it's otherworldly! "It comes from the ether and never truly lands, but lifts each spirit when they hear it." - SIX-STRING SLIM (not to be confused with Mudslide Slim or even Slim Shady!!!).
Isn't this really more of a screen test than a proper interview? I think the idea is just to see what he's like in casual conversation and how he reacts to questions, etc.
He's baked man so doped up here. No wonder I am so attracted to him right here as my ex was also an addict and unfortunately a destructive personality. James was not disordered but just had an addiction which he beat. Beautiful man. That's not a cigarette it's a flamin joint.
JT may be found, almost everywhere with one of his two Olson guitars but that Gibson, J-50 is the guitar, man! I saw a video he just did, with his old guitars in a beautiful window-filled room. It is starting to snow out and he picks up his Gibson J-50 and breaks into one of his original songs he wrote on it, after telling the story of that particular guitar and that was IT for me!
He had, by this point, had quite the life already! The person interviewing him (and indeed Laurie Bird in another interview) is actor/extra AJ Solari, who also played one of the hitchhikers in this film.
I don't know what y'all are talking about I love this interview you rarely see him when he was in this state when he was in his prime writing even if he was addicted at the time he did great things and continues too he's much older now and look he still kills it live. It's like drugs didn't even affect him because he quit right before it was too late

At his core is a confidence in his talents as musician, singer, songwriter and performer. On top of that layer is the need for close friendships, which need has helped him to develop the sweetness and humor with which he has attracted friends. He isn't obsessed with his looks, but knows how to use his looks to get what he wants. He realized early on in life that he was smarter than most the people around him, and developed mannerisms to make himself fit in with the people around him so that he would be liked and accepted.
He strikes me as the type that his music does his talking and he isnt real comfortable just talking with people. At least at the time of this interview.
It is a recessive gene carried by the mother which makes a man lose his hair. It should not matter if the gent has faith, proper morals and a value system intact. There are spiritual gifts which far outweigh the importance of long luscious locks.Hopefully you love the soul of the man not just the physical attractiveness in the here and now. I believe that James has become a Renaissance man so focus in on what is truly important. Beauty is fleeting but true character and self realization take a lifetime to develop. The eyes are the true mirror of the soul as the saying goes.
look at all the ones that are almost unrecognizable now it's crazy.. Phil Collins Dave Mason Mark Knopfler Peter Frampton Bernie leadon Kim Wilson..so many had those flowing locks everywhere
You kidding or what? The other way around? James T. was super nice and accommodating, as well as ‘truthful!’ “Do you like talking about how you write songs? No, but I will, anyway!” And JT says it with a smile! Ask another artists and see what you get! I mean, how can you fault someone for being so honest and accommodating? Wake up, man!
My oh My, poor James seems very unconfortable during the whole interview. He's very shy, introverted, pure and... very sexy. Still listen to his music today, Because of him as well as because of The Eagles, I started to play guitar.
Idk, it sounds like Maybe the intent was just to have a real laid back, folksy chat like as if you bumped into him in the diner having coffee. But James elaborates on nothing. I kinda like the awkwardness of the “interview”. It’s real
Steamroller is a classic! Its just another side of J T.... you could see James was not thrilled , nor very comfortable with the interview or the interviewers stipid questions. J T is a deep man... best to be quiet, and listen....
It kills me the way he plays his open D voicing. It can make it hard to cop some of his playing when you watch...Like Everyone She Knows has a hell of an intro
Brutal interview....such disease...but hey...this was far before everyone was on RU-vid for NO reason. Jame T is forever ! I say this based on his works that will live forever...and his brilliance as a song writer...his unique voicings on guitar and just about anything else you can name...oh yeah...THAT voice...priceless...this video is eh,...and who cares?
JT is a very introverted Guy , quiet but smart. The Guy giving the interview sucked . I was looking up to see what He had To say about Dennis Wilson , but there's nothing here. You had two fine musicians here , but no songs by them on the film , strange. Own the film on disc , Warren Oates tried to bridge Himself with the younger generation by being in this film an two with Peter Fonda .
The movie 🍿 is terrible! I would have Taylor sing at least two songs on acoustic guitar in the film accompanied by Dennis Wilson on bongos. What a waste of talent! The director was clueless! The movie is dull, humorless and mostly boring! Here you hear Taylor 🎤 sing a song that should’ve been in the film but no! One of the greatest singer songwriters of all time is silent in the movie. Ridiculous!
@@dynjarren7523 He's made plenty of records if you want to hear him sing. The movie is a cult classic, which you obviously don't get, he's playing a character who isn't a musician, duh! Dennis Wilson on bongos, lol
God... no wonder so many artists go off on interviewers, they cut out the stupid shit they had to put up with & they only showcase the rant from the artist.
This interviewer is coming on like a real prick. James laughs it off , but if i was there i wouldve liked to have guided him to a more respectful stance instead of watching James getting arrows bounced off his armor.
