Two men working ending New Orleans violence:
Once a week in a different part of the city, you'll find Philip Brock and Ian Ballard. The two are part of the group "Positive minds, Positive movement", a non-profit.
Brock who has a background in mental health, started it along with Ballard, a former truck driver now on a different road. Together, they walk neighborhoods and say a quick hello.
"You'd be surprised what a word do," said Ian Ballard, "Positive minds, Positive movement".

Fathers in the homes teaching their children right from wrong and setting a good example is where it needs to start. Children raised in a positive environment grow up to be productive upstanding citizens. It all starts at home. Street life and the mentality that goes with it, produces what we have now. Raise your children and teach them well and you put them on a path to success.

There will be no peace without righteousness. Instead of man doing what's right in his own eyes, we need to do what's right in God's eyes. God's will done on earth as it is in heaven. This is the answer. Exhalt God in the community and teach kids what the Word says.

Violence in New Orleans is not going away anytime soon. Actually, I think it will get much, much worse. Don't get me wrong, I actually love New Orleans and the people and I hope and pray for the best. But, with the legalization of marijuana, this will lead to more children making bad decisions. For example, experimenting with more dangerous drugs that are highly dangerous and addictive, which in turn, leads to more bad decisions.
