I noticed that one of the wolves has a radio collar on. I would love to know more about this if you have any information. Is one of your wildlife agencies doing a study on them? Or maybe a graduate student from a local university?
Thank you for that information. Lots of states in the Western USA are currently spending lots of time and resources trying to reintroduce wolves to areas where they formerly lived, but are no longer found. It is nice to see video footage from an area such as yours where they have not been extirpated. Thanks again for these great videos!
Have you ever had much of a problem with people messing with or stealing your cameras? (But then again, maybe this area is private property? Or might be in a very remote area with little human visitation?) That is what I would worry about in my area - I would be very upset to pay a lot of money for a camera and then have someone steal it. Guess one would need to find an area that people do not visit very much.
I've had two stolen which were in security boxes and cable locked to the tree at a spot I didn't think people would visit. Usually if I get a person, I will move the camera. It's definitely a concern so choosing locations is critical.
Wow, that is terrible! Sorry to hear that! But thanks for sharing that information with us. It is definitely something that I will take into consideration at some point, when I buy a trail camera and try this out as a hobby.
👍 That was a very nice variety of wildlife near the pond, and it seems to always be the bears that want to eat the cameras.. LOL. I was trying to make out what the little white object is on the elk's head (time stamp 0:26) between its ears? It's too small to be part of a collar.
