In this video, I showcase and test two new vacuums that I just bought from two separate out of town thrift stores just an hour before, a 2000 Eureka The Boss Bravo II 7620 (yes you read that right, got another one just after I fixed the first!) and a 2006 Bissell Powerforce Bagless 6579-2; another machine I have been wanting for awhile now! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy!

Nice! I can't wait to begin using it, I actually started on the cleanout tonight and so far it is in very good shape beneath the dirt outside of the scratches on the hood from the previous owner(s) who apparently liked using it as a battering ram, LOL

The Eureka sounds very good, not like the screamer that most are. Also, as a plus, the brush has been replaced

Yeah, I was bracing myself for that one and luckily it sounds healthy. Also good to know that the brushroll likely isn't original, I knew replacements can be had in the blue color but also thought that some of them came with blue bristles OEM. Would have to watch the video the guy I bought my other one from posted on RU-vid of this same model to verify if this one came this way or not.

@@dancline2143 I have to say, I have it apart and besides the expected dirt and dust, the motor looks to have VERY low hours on it based on the internals. I am guessing this machine was purchased new, briefly used extremely hard and then possibly put back in the box to sit in someone's basement for many years. I know for a fact that the motor has never been opened or serviced as not only was the gasket fully intact until I had to cut it where the motor and housing separate to inspect it but the carbon brushes are the original as if they were ever replaced, the original shunts would've been cut and the replacements lock into a small gap next to the original terminals on the field assembly. They have wear but not much and it is very healthy and even. But anyways, the commutator and bearings looks very good with the windings looking almost new to the point where I would think that it had possibly been serviced in the past if it wasn't for those previous things I noted. And the brush terminals show no sign of being soldered on either which debunks the possibilty of the vac shop going against the OEM instructions on brush replacement.

I thought that the bag looked really clean and in good condition, so it's very possible

My stepmom used to have the older Bissell. She just forgot what model number was it? I think it was a 6583 or a 6579-3 My mom used to have a Bissell like that long time ago a 6579 model
@DoraTheExplorerSuperfan
@DoraTheExplorerSuperfan 26 дней назад
If it was identical to mine but didn't have the headlight, it was a 6579-3. Mine is the 6579-2 for reference. The 6583s have a 10 amp motor, no headlight, a slightly different fixed hose with no elbow, and was made later on (2009-2011 versus 2006-2008 for the 6579 series).

The bissell sounds like it’s needs to clean out the fan and repack the motor bearings and I hope it sounds normal Samething happens to my 82H1
@DoraTheExplorerSuperfan
@DoraTheExplorerSuperfan Месяц назад
Certainly needs some major love in the motor department, that's for sure! I will remove the motor from the machine, pull the fan off and blow everything out with an air compressor before further disassembling it to grease the bearings and it should survive.

Bissell needs fan to be blown out. Bearings sound fine.
@DoraTheExplorerSuperfan
@DoraTheExplorerSuperfan Месяц назад
True, though considering the fact that this thing appears to have been used in a construction site or something to suck up plaster dust or whatever that fine dust is, the bearings will need some attention as that stuff dries them out. Might sound fine now but I would like to grease them when I have it apart to keep them healthy and to prevent them from failing down the road when I begin using it.
