Employees come and go especially in lawn care and labor extensive work. It is expected in these types of fields of work things go bad. people say things you just have to ignore them. I expected pizza to leave Brando took me buy surprise but thins happen. Also nice excavator.

only disappointed in Pizza Nick. He could have grown with your company and that's what I saw in him but no matter who it is you are the owner and need to run the business and deserve the respect by all. You keep the jobs coming in and provided an income for them sometimes they forget that piece and have no clue what it takes to oversee a group of people. Sometimes people just need to grow up. On the other end like you said if the work is not for them and they want to do better then they should go after that but give you some fair notice. Not my company bro, and your doing your thing, but some guys probably hate the fact hate the fact that your expecting them to work O/T and Sundays while your sitting in a truck talking to your phone, hire someone to fill your position and you just film, your part of the crew and lacking in performance, that’s just my opinion, I don’t do lawns anymore but I run the construction/hardscapes side of a company and do it by example, people like working with me cause I get down and dirty with the guys, I could never sit in a truck while the other guys are working.
By far thr BIGGEST reason why I eliminated the chances of potential employees working for me on almost every level, 1 part time ocasional guy I have work for me, on every other level I bought the bigger equipment to replace fhe employee factor, in fact after the purchase of my loader 10 years ago, the 2 guys I had working I looked them straight in the face and told them that machine is gonna eventually replace them, when they don't show up for work one day that loader will replace them pushing the wheel barrel, and it literally happened within 2 weeks they didn't show up, I didn't call them and beg and they basically quit, after that point I became 95% self reliant, now when I take those big jobs I get it done almost 100% myself unless my part time guy can work, usually I plan that stuff for a day when he can help. But as to employees, they have a ego issue where they can sometimes think they have more authority and hate being put in their place.
In 2005 I started a commercial landscape company here in South FL with my parents. Truth of the matter is the single most difficult thing about running the business is the same problem everybody else has, finding good employees. I think that a lot of guys look at this job like its crap and just a quick way to make some money while they are at rock bottom, because obviously we don't always find the best of the best, but the truth is that this is a phenomenal career, with infinite possibilities. I think that those type of employees are just short sighted and they all eventually come back begging for their jobs.
As a boss you cant tell your employees to do something you wouldnt do yourself thats how u gain the respect of the employee .. for a employee too out right do as they please if they get away with it once it will turn into habbit

I watched one of your videos of you and a senior employee watching a newbie from inside the truck to see what mistakes he would make with the trimmer. Nobody told the kid the best way to do it. I use to fertilize for a living . And mow like 25 houses a week to make a little bit more cash . But i was in the green industry for 16 years ,mowing , aerating, dethatching, fertilizing a weed control and Landscaping and sod removal and replacement
You can be a boss and tell your employees what to do but there is also a way to do that... my boss is always in a great mood about everything, obviously if me or someone else has a small mess up he gets a bit annoyed but he never makes us feel like bad workers. When he tells me to do something, I jump to it with no hesitation but it’s because of the way he says and or asks it... if he were to yell and scream everytime then Yea I’d say fuck You and your power trip too. I’m not saying that’s what you do man you seem like a great boss, im just expressing my opinion on the matter. Keep up the great lawn services my man !
There's more "curl" power than "lift" power, so when doing things like this you can take the slack out of the chain by lifting the arm with the bucket curled out, and then curl the bucket in. Did you notice how much difference there was when you used the "curl" to pull instead of the "lift" function?
As an 18 year old buisness owner, I find it hard to find employees that will listen to me because of my age. I have gone through 3 employees due to them thinking they could do the things they wanted and not the right way. That being said love the videos keep it up.
Well for pizza i would have let him go after the 3 time he over slept and with all the tension that you had last year with pizza i wouldn't of taking it this year . For Brando he was a good worker just wish he would have more respect for you and told you the truth
I'm down to 6 people total on a 6 fleet crew, each crew has two crews, you find your keepers, unfortunately alot of this generation doesn't want to work, or wants to work but not learn the trade. Best of luck.

I was thinking the same thing. I do know that it is going to be hard for pizza to find a job that you get picked up and dropped off. I honestly feel that pizza just wants to feel needed and wanted. In this kind of business you need to know that your not going to find the best employee because there is a reason that their an employee and not the owner of the business. In many companies the owners right hand man has been fired before and even a few times until they get their thoughts in order. Sometimes you need to fire him just to prove "this company is going to run with or without you. You don't want to hire someone unemployed. You want someone under employed. Someone that you feel that is worth more than what he or she is currently making.
