Did you move to the use of longer bolts incorporating washers & 2 nuts last nut a lock nut? Or move to AN fine thread bolts washers and lock nuts . Use of Thread Sealant should help.
For the scag it's the same thing with my cub cadet, it doesn't want to turn over because of two things if not more I have low oil in it (just got some this weekend) and the battery is dead, even though I put my battery one the charger thing and getting 18 batt power. So you may have to put oil in it.
you may not see this but as for the tightening issue with the metal piece. would a large clevis pin work to go through the holes? the pin i mean has that bit loop that is spring loaded and slips over the end of the pin once you put it through the hole. just an idea, maybe a bolt? really its poor design, the end of the square stock tubing should be capped to prevent crushing warpage.
That set screw is supposed to go through the hole in the upright, tighten it all you want, if you don’t line it up so it goes into the hole it’s gonna move, simple
I would normally ask myself, "Why am I spending my time watching other people cut grass on RU-vid?".. But then I watch your vids and think " Why WOULDN'T I??"
Don't listen to other people when they're saying about your RU-vid You're a good worker and your guys too so don't listen to those people who's calling you names or nothing you're not that kind of person you are a good worker with your lawn care business
Hey nick just saying im not a pro but i work for a lawn company are you sure one of your employees had the bolt in the hole it looks like it was tightened a little to high
Straighten out the square tubing to its original shape. Cut a piece of pipe that is slightly larger in dia than the bolt that goes thru the tubing, and as long as the square tube is wide. Place it between the holes in the tubing and run the bolt thru it. You can now put much more pressure on the bolt/nut without distorting the tubing.
Straighten the metal. Drill your hole either tap it, and get the special screws that don't loosten..or just keep your allen screw and let it go into the hole..
So I have the Byers blower racks from eBay they are like 40 bucks and they are cheap you can lock then with a master lock and I've NEVER had an issue if you want a link lmk nick!
My suggestion with the medal bending is to hammer it back out then try sticking a piece of medial in it to prevent it from bending in the inter frame if you can find someone that know how to work with medial
I had bought one of the first Scagg 48 hydros about 25 years ago when it first came out everyone in my area was using bobcats with belt drives also that’s when the Belke first came out with the one wheel are used to demo it for the dealers because the landscapers didn’t know what it was said it would never work right after they saw me on this thing they started selling it big-time back then I paid almost 5000 for my 48 Scagg Hydro so I guess prices didn’t change that much over the years
was not lined up in the hole when u guys keep tighten it it was above the hole thats why it bent like that sure u can say all day it was lined up but u can clearly see it was not in the hole lol
Don’t keep tightening it, get a small piece of hollowing piping cut to size to put in beteeen/in the hole to keep it from bending may have to tac weld it in or get a bolt and nut to go through the bracket, the piping and back out to the other side. Will never bend again. Not that big of a deal but should not have to modify engineered equipment and the manufacturer should had made it with hardened steel.
Thanks for the additional update on the racks nick. I've thought about buying them. But they seem cheap and will stick to the trimmer trap or the other racks I've built.
set screw is bigger then the hole in the tube! if not drill a hole on the other side and install another set screw so there is 2 and with all our mowers and z-sprays i put battery shut of keys all mowers and outdoor equipment has issues at some point and it usually a wet arc or if its a once in a while use its either the smuts inside the magneto or starter wires even if u blow off it still gets in there! hell the ignition on the 1 zspray kills the battery every night but if u take off the outer nut holding the ignition in and grounding it
Just straighten the square tube out and then that set screw is supposed to align with that hole in the tube. You don't tighten the set screw against the side of the tube. That is what causes the tube to crush.
I know it sucks but especially for the other racks that aren't falling off yet just get the hole in the frame big enough that the bolt thing goes into it.
Lock tight to stop the bolt undoing it depth but the problem is with that light have steel crap not fit for purpose could put a slightly smaller section of box thought to strengthen it. Or just send it back although it was a while ago sense you brought them
Butttttttttttttt Nickkkkkkk, I can give you a couple of fixes for the Blower holder; NACAR = Duct tape, Electrician= zip ties, and finally one that is near and dear to my heart Farmer = bailing wire. As far as the Scab, take the gate off the trailer, put the Scab on the back, and find the roughest road. Parking brake problem fixed.
I had to ask, you mentioned before that you collect at every service. How do you manage that? Most of my customers aren't home during the day. Do these people send a check every week or leave a check under the door matt?
Charles Fields. im missing out. Some pay weekly but for the most part I invoice residentials at end of the month. I have commercial accounts that are 45 day pay after invoice. One that is State Police owned property that is 90 day pay. If you dont agree to those terms, someone else will take the work
I have a suggestion just put a bolt all the way thru it. Know I understand you shouldn’t have to do that but sometimes you just have to fix what engineering can’t figure out
Simon from the UK here... Ninjas are killing it and look like one he'll of a team now which is awesome for the work and for the videos. Really pleased you had a chat with pizza and now his back to his old self, for which I hope he stays like that disbite his little dance on grass ( not ice ) 🤣 You have every right to complain about the quality of the racks, I would be mad as well as you say they were paid for out of your hard earned money and NOT FREE... I'm going to enjoy reading the comments now as some people just don't get what your saying 🤣🤣 But Niiiiick See you tomorrow ninjas
Why don't you put a bolt thew the holes on that blower rack. It looks like they made the hole to small for that bolt. It would be worth a try till you can get something else
Do as I do, don't waste money buying off thr shelf equipment racks, build them yourself all ya heed is some steel and a welder. Or you can do what i did this last time, i stopped at a mechanical shop where they do metal work and had them make them. 1 trimmer rack, vac, hand held blower and backpack blower coat me 80.00 to have them custom make everything for my enclosed trailer. You dont need thr off the shelf ordered racks. You cam custom build them to your exact liking much cheaper...
Hi Nick. that's sucks. I hope your Sunday is better than Saturday. I would be pissed off too. Shit ain't cheap. I am glad that u been keeping videos of the blow rank. they don't build anything to last any more.
The bolt should have gone through the hole, it bent the steel because it was not in the hole. We all get frustrated at times, the equipment is just not as well made as it used to be, I have equipment that is thirty years old and is still in good shape. Your videos are great because they are real.
The quintessential superhero question is always along the lines of, "would you rather be invisible or be able to fly." It's a favorite in the world of philosophy and psychology. But if you're going to ask a ridiculous fake situational/aspirational question, why limit the respondent's creativity and imagination? So, with that in mind, what would be your range of superpowers?
