Kind of crazy (and expected though) how less noticeable are the differences compared to swapping cabs/mics for high gain guitar tones. There is a difference though (in mix context and in solo) that you can hear if you A/B them next to each other. Comparing mic models or mic positions on the same cab is very interesting too.
Just because these happen to be very similar it doesn't mean that swapping cabs and mics don't make a massive difference on bass. It does make a massive difference, just as it does on high gain guitar tones. I have a lot of bass IRs that sound completely different from one another, when one sits in the mix, the other absolutely doesn't.
@@sludokuI agree :) It doesn't sound THAT different but it does sit way differently in a mix. (just spent 20 minutes nerding out on A/B/Ying a SM57 vs a MD421 on the same cab in Genome btw)
