@@WAFishQuest Not the best place to fish though. There are gill nets, and 5 ferries to dodge along with navy patrol boats and anchored ones. And if you don't mind all that there's lots of seaweed, some strong currents and back eddies that will mess up your gear.
thanks for saying this YourAverageFishKeeper! In an odd way that intro is a lot of what my channel represents. When I run without an intro, my video retention goes way up. A lot of new viewers see an intro of any kind and click away in about 6 seconds (although the intro is only about 8 seconds long). But, those aren't the people I make those videos for. The pursuit of views simply for views sake is a hollow one. I make my videos for the YourAverageFishKeepers of the world. Thanks again!
I super appreciate the kind words about the music, Mt. Met! Usually when I get a music comment it's a "your music sux" or "loose the music dude." So realllllly nice to get a comment that's not a complaint about it. I also had arcade days, maybe that is why I like "chiptune" as much as I do. Tight lines!
Hey I just moved to Bainbridge Island this summer, I love your puget sound salmon videos! I’ve been trying to catch a coho from shore, cause… no boat 😂
Nice double, sponsered by donettes. The power you need in the morning to get the job done! 😆 great multi species day too bad the eind ended your morning early but it was a heck of a good morning put fish on ice. Tight lines my friend.
Yes, they are! I have some crab snaring videos out at Westport if you want to see some decent locations. And I agree snaring is a ton of fun. Tight snares!
Thanks Ron! Yes sir Cohos and pink's especially. If they're jumping it rarely works but if their backs are just breaking the surface, they're likely to hit about any shiny thing you can get in front of them.
Wasn’t sure too bout that video game music at first but then I got hooked in… thanks for all the info! Has it been raining out there much. I have a forage expedition planned in that area next week but I am thinking it’s still too early.
Thanks! I know the 8 bit music isn't for everyone, thanks for giving it a shot! It juuuust starred raining again. We got some showers here 2 of the last 4 days.
Doubles! Love it, I've been thinking about trying no spoons down here, I don't know if they'll be hot on them or not in the fresh water, I know they would probably destroy them out in the salt though, great stuff Blake!
Thank you as always! I've never had luck with spoons for river salmon, but curious how it'd go in Oregon! I know pixie spoons slay in Alaska. You'd think they'd at least do ok here.
@@WAFishQuest I have got coho on spoons and tributary rivers, typically they are the most aggressive fish in the pod, after that it turns into either spinners or jigs.
Did Shingo's rod get a hook up at 7:10 and again about the time you were landing your second fish? Great informative vid again! Thanks Blake and Shingo! Special thanks to Bret for pointing out Area 10 2 rod permit.
I noticed that your boat can handle in rough water. What brand of your boat is it? Lund?? How length? 16ft? How many hp of outboard motor? 40 hp? Thanks.
Came across your channel recently and it’s great. What do you do for a living? Are you like a marine biologist or do something with DFW? Your knowledge is so extensive it’s super impressive
Thanks a ton for the kind words! Nope, nothing cool like that. I did take some marine biology and oceanography classes in college. Difficult vocation to really make a living on. So I didn't go that way. Super appreciate it!
Gotta ask....what is the deal with the orange life jacket? With 7500 subcribers, Sportco would probably hook you up with something post-1975 technology.
Thanks Mike! I wear it largely to show you don't need a lot of money to practice boat safety. That and it doesn't bother me at all; I actually like the style. I do have a form fitting life jacket I wear when kayaking. Tight lines 🤙
Hey K Buck! Thank you! It's a Garmin Echo 151. At the time of this reply it's broken now. I do like those new Garmin Strikers now. The GPS/depth finder hybrids. For their price, can't beat em.
A) very cool channel name. B) they are little Scotty manuals. One is a depth king #1060 and one is a depth master #1050. I prefer the 1060 over an election rigger. It's simple, almost nothing can go wrong, and at two feet per turn of the handle the ball comes right up.
@@WAFishQuest thank you, that sounds like similar to what I do. Good to know. Coho all the way down in Union already. My son and I fished down there a few years ago. We mostly fish Possession Bar as it is close to where we live.
hi Jarin! Big ol blue fox would work. Shingo made a whole bunch of homemade spinners with hoochie skirts and those work great. I like to crimp a hoochie onto a blue fox.
I super appreciate the offer Duckgitr (cool name btw). I will have to pass at this time. My calendar is just too packed in the foreseeable future. Thanks again!
Music is always a sticky one. Since it's based on personal preference, I always get a couple comments like this. But I like it, and I'm who is making the video. So, if you choose to watch my videos, you're kinda stuck with tunes I enjoy. Either way, thanks for watching this one and tight lines.
