Ford fg, xr6 turbo using Pcmtec tuning software on the factory computer!
I have been playing around for a while to try set up a good limiter that sounds trick with these barra engines and the factory ecu.
Tuning with a program call pcmtec, i think it is finally there! so then i added it to the "launch" tune file and made it sound like a proper 2 step!! was stoked when it sounded this good! super pumped and keen to dial it in to something usable at the track.

Probably not ideal for the engine.. if the tuner wants to keep the customers engine alive maybe. Its a little involved to get it happening through pcmtec, its not so simple compared to other software, could be a reason too. 👍👍

What kind of vcm do you use to plug into the car? Ive been looking at a tactrix openport 2.0 but wanna know what you use

Yep thats the one. Pcmtec recommend tactrix too!

Hey mate. I’ve got PCMTEC Professional license /Tactrix 2.0 with a license for my FG GS 315 5.0 S/C. It’s bog stock except XForce exhaust. I’ve used PCMTEC to get the throttle opening up properly (none of this 50% crap like stock) but I’m not really experienced enough to muck about with boost, fuelling and ignition tables. Do you ever do tunes remotely? I’ve got access to a private road for data logging. Love your content and keep up the good work. Turbo fire was awesome!

Hey mate, i saw you fellas post this on the club fg page and ive been curious about the setup ever since cause it sounds fucken mint! So all you did was set the launch control mode to max out at 4200 rpm, and then it started to crack bang and pop? Because I wanna get mine tuned to pcmtec soon and I wanna tell the tuner to set this shit up! Also what exhaust are you running? I heard you saying that you have 2 mufflers, but what brand exhaust did you go with? Xforce? Or what's the overall setup?

It is mad hey! So part of it is setting up an rpm limit in the launch tune file. But I probably can't help much more dude as I don't want to give away all my secrets. 😆😆 sorry if it sounds a bit stupid, but I have learnt i should be more like this than give all my info away.. Look up barra tas on Facebook. once your car is tuned, hit me up and I might be able to help get it to do what you want. 🤘

Once you go to a custom O/S it does it and becomes a feature you can toggle on and off. Standard tune won't do it

Tactrix is the name. Will need a software aswell to change anything.

All depends on the setup and how willing to push it regarding the tune. There are some that go well over 500kw at the wheels!

Pcmtec is the program. 👍 For ford falcon ecu's and now mustang aswell.

Hey mate. It is easier now that I have used it for a year and have learnt a heap. Knowing how to search for things and what tables to look for when they aren't called what you would expect them to be called, makes the whole thing a lot more usable. 👌
