***** How to epic-ify a song: Make it orchestral. Add a darker, stronger key. Lower notes. Add cathedral bells. (Optional) Add brass. Add choir (Optional) Edit: If you're gonna add a main singer, it's recommended you don't use English lyrics. The most common used language is Latin.
I know!, right? As a horn player, seeing that there was an orchestra arrangement for this, I tried to get the director to let us play this song in full orch. (high school), but he said it was too difficult. Like, the fuck man? I hate you, Mr. Watson.
trying to convince my teacher to do this currently or another 2 steps from hell song with the school choir fingers cross it works. (even if it will only be about 4 people actually managing to play it)
As much as i love me some Hans Zimmer....Thomas Bergersen has been my go to composer over the last few years. His work never seems to disappoint, it's remarkable!
Im with you on that. I love The Dark Knight OST but some parts are drawn out with lots of space before interesting happens. Sure, the anticipation is all part of building up to the pay off but TSFH structure their songs almost like pop songs and have more consistent momentum so they’re more enjoyable to listen to at any time. I feel like I gotta be in a certain mood to listen to Hanz and still love him but yadda yadda yadda TSFH are awesome.
Thunder truscott I don't want them to put it on the radio because then a bandwagon effect will be created. I think that only the true fans who have found the music should be able to listen to it. I would hate it if TSFH was listened to by all of the undeserving.
george stullenbimer I don't want them to put it on the radio because then cars would start crashing everywhere. This music is not for the common man. These are the songs of heroes.
One day I will have enought money to buy all of your music. One day..... One day.... One day.... Edit 6 years later: I bought some albums. Nowadays I listen to them on Spotify.
+Ballofwhacks Productions Actually, typing "listenonrepeat" instead of "youtube" in the video's webadress will open a replay page :D Or you could just search for any youtube video on listenonrepeat.com :P
What's funny is that the correct spelling of Canon in D major results in the popular wedding march down the aisle. While this is the alternate, a charge onto the battlefield with an army only a few thousand strong but the powers of gods on your side. It feels amazing, wonderful, and downright badass. Keep this up, my Bulgarian friend!
You confused "spelling", with "definition" you silly noob. The correct spelling of confusion does NOT result in Peyton Manning playing for the Colombian national soccer team.
Unfortunately, I have tried that many times and no matter is it TSFH or not (it's the music overall) it disturbs my fight. This applies only to Witcher 3 for some reason. Actually, only in-game musics are fine for me.
Seriously though...Bergesen vastly overshadows every other composer in the genre, its not even funny at this point. I told him this about two years ago, he responded and i almost lost it.
Zeikou This is most definitely in d minor... Two Steps from Hell is one of if not the biggest trailer music producers ever, you think they'd get that wrong? Anyway I've played along on my violin with this song, it is definitely d minor
When you say "it" in a discussion about a song, it generally refers to said song, which was Cannon in D Minor not Canon in D. Cubelith was talking about the TSFH song, and you replied to him saying "it's in D major" Look I don't think you're an idiot by any means, but anyone can be wrong. The song does have an upbeat and triumphant feel, which IS often associated with a major key. I know this is RU-vid comments so a reconciliation is unlikely but I meant no insult
DucksUnlimited yes, especially since 'canon in d major' is a very relaxing piece, but I guess it makes sense cannons are more 'explosive' then canons :p
I had the pleasure of hearing many of these masterpieces during a live concert by TSFH in Budapest 27th of Sept. It was magnificent, hands down the best concert I've ever been to! The atmosphere there was amazing and vibrant. Thomas Bergensen is such a great guy. Humble and down to earth.
That is good as well... But the song as a whole, you would never really guess from the title and first 3 seconds... But then, BOOM!!! It is one of the top 30 songs, the other 29 being other songs by Tsfh ;)
This is one of my favorite songs by TSFH. This and To Glory get my blood pumping like nothing else. Incredible piece of music, it just invigorates the soul.
I like to think the people who made these songs so many years ago and are no longer around, are looking down and happy that their music is inspiring creativity and still being enjoyed
I listened while pulling out of an airport. Passing people felt like an epic video game. Changing lanes felt like facing the challenge that would define my life and succeeding. I highly recommend doing this. You might get pulled over for being too awesome, though.
One of my favorite pieces on this album! I love how TSFH is merging classical elements with electronic sounds, it creates a really interesting combination.
Belm Stray Hm... for most of the TSFH-tracks, I imagine nothing but an epic battle, or another piece of epic action. Dark taverns with just barely breathable air and lots of alcoholics don´t really fit into the picture I make for TSFH-songs.
Belm Stray Yeah I could see that. Like, a massive bar fight instigated by a group of adventurers who haven't fought anything good in a while. A big, open one though, not some dusty dank tavern.
Belm Stray Or, maybe even someone riding through the field on a horse, heading on a great adventure. :) Or imagine an archangel, her wings spread out wide a sword in her hand, the sun shining brightly behind behind her. Imagine her in a gorgeous tunic/dress, green eyes and blonde hair with an olive skin tone. Descending towards you.
horseshoe344 I wish I was an angel... with a sword in my hands, going on an adventure to fight evil. Why does this magicless world have to be so boring??
just want to say to you, Mr Bergerson, that you are truly at the top when it comes to modern music. your music, without a single vocal, tells a story. it makes the listener truly LISTEN, for they not only listen with their ear, but also with their heart. your music has inspired me in ways that no other composer, singer, or writer has ever been able to, and for that, I want to thank you. stay awesome, keep writing great music, and please tell the rest of the 2SFH team that I appreciate all of their hard work.
This track makes me do embarrassing conducting moves in public-I just get so involved in this awesome, epic, heroic ,powerful masterpiece and have played it about 20 times so far-Thomas Bergensen ,you are a genius, thank you for your gift to the world
Every time I think there's a new music group that I enjoy more than TSFH, they pull something like this to keep them at the top of my list. New favorite song!
Amazing as always, Thomas. The main theme reminds me a bit of "Up is Down" from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. The shouts on the occasional 2 beat are very cool.
Boosted1981 yeah usually they say i made my (insert weak ordinary object) or i listened to this when i was a (insert low ranking position) then they state they are now a high or power full object e.g i listened to this with my butter knife in hand. it turned into excalibur
Man! This track is unparalleled in history of epic music ever. I don't think, anything will ever overtake this. What did you smoke before writing this piece of art? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think I am addicted to this kind of music. It's like my life is empty without it and hearing it makes me way happier than it should be possible. Thank you so much TSFH!
I think that I might be the only one but this fantastic score is giving me How To Train Your Dragon vibes. A collab between you and John Powell (or Hans Zimmer) would be epic.
always refreshed by the comments sections on these videos! Is this the only place on the internet where we're not all yelling? Either way, awesome work TSFH!
A small unit was about to be wiped out by the enemy, until a surprise attack by the commander and his squad flanking the enemy from behind. The commander yelled with a loud battle cry encouraging the small unite to push forward at the enemy with full force.
Lucas Lucas But they took the majority of the enemy with them in a glorious display of martial prowess and cunning. The agonized cries of the victors as they licked their wounds and buried their dead were a testament to the fury of the commander and his brave few.
