My grandpa was a captain on the Chinese side in the Korean War, the Chinese, Korean and Russian pilots always gave him the chocolates ( chocolates were a luxury and only for pilots, because they won’t be around to enjoy it), survival rate was about 20% and back then people get promoted really quick, he watched so many young pilots not coming back
What always puzzles me in those film scenes: US or british plane: dozens of 20mm hits - still heroically flying german plane: 1 hit from a .50 cal MG - bursts into flames.
This might be a spolier don't see unless you saw red tails. Red Tails manuver when the red tails pliot on a secondhand curtiss p-41 warhawk learned that manuver when fighting a German Bf 109 G when fight. And then the red tails pliot in a P-51 Mustang that was in a squadron of protecting the B-17 Fleet, later in the final battle of the movie uses this on a german Me 262 with the first generation "jet" engine and with a close call, he got behind the Me 262 and destroyed him. Also, after that his fuel tank of P-51 leaked from inside the plane and he crashed into the ground, too. But that manuver is done by only aces on the battlefield. Respect.
@@PureWater_MW_Korea ye, but that maneuver is still technically impossible unless you somehow can accelerate the nose in an upward direction while also decelerating your plane (several tons of metal) from about 160 NPH to 0 NPH in a matter of seconds. See the problem?
A very well made, compilation 👌of the bravest of air battles by the most courageous WW2 pilots. Makes you realize that without today's computerized technology these brave man used the simple mechanical systems/weapons to fight & survive.Very good sound effects.... excellent work done ✔.
I just said the same thing in another one of their videos...They are not really wrong...they fight for their beliefs..for their countries...its the leaders that are bad people
I met a red tail member at LAX 10 plus years ago. He had on a leather jacket that identified him. So humble with his wife. Was recognized in the wheel house and first to board by Delta.
No one would ever fight with their gut feelings anymore, modern technology took that thrill away. These men were the real deal, raw skill and courage plus that shitty hardware in some cases. Live or die by skill alone and half an inch steel plate. Aluminium in case of bombers.
what thrill? these men were most likely drafted and forced to do these things, most didn’t even want to. Modern technology still requires skill or that ‘thrill’ you’re talking about.
Look bad for what ? All country look up german technology and after war they looted them all so what are bad for that german is the best of best germany invented the first radar and many more
@@michaelc.5809 Prinz Eugen did survive she was give to the US Navy as a war prize from the British and was called USS Prinz Eugen and was sent to nuclear testing in the pacific and survived 2 or 3 atomic blasts with minimal damage but the radiation on board was so bad when she sprung a leak aboard they couldn't repair her and she sunk. What a lose of a beautiful ship that could have been a museum
Yes majestic but it's a shame because that majestic view has a dark side under it but if you want to smile and see it's majestic just side don't look down just don't
@@anthonyendack3138 first part in that comment ima disagree with (which was about how it was realistic) in what battle did b17s go head to head up against ME’s?!? Like full head on like full fighter maneuvers! The time you see this in is 0:00-0:14
“Flying planes and shooting soldiers are easy in game, but in reality... It is chaos.” “You never know what it feels like to fight in a war unless you join one.”
Part of me wishes I had been born sooner so I could fight and die alongside these brave soldiers. The other part of me thinks “thank god I didn't have to”
Nah man if it's ww2 then you would probably die of boredom because except a few places of strategic interest you won't find much in name of real battle but if you actually want some fun then just go back around 1000 year ago, although there are no modern toilets or toilet paper you can probably manage by using a bucket of water but although you do have to sacrifice modern toilets you are in a pretty much lawless area where if no one saw it then it didn't happen and on top of that as long as you are not a farmer then you are good (except in South asia) your everyday job will offer you a great amount of freedom weather you are a shop owner or a hunter and on top of that if you are born in a nomadic tribe then your wedding is pretty much guaranteed and in case you decided to become a solider then as long as you are good physically you will be immediately promoted above others also you won't find any Karen.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cPZplctZLb0.html A lot of b17s formation were close together so when a b17 was shot in one of the engines, it would spark down words into another b17 (b17 piggyback) thats what they called it
my great grandpa lived in the netherlands in WW2 in a barn during the war he was staing ON the roof for safety and he saw his neigbors die because a bomb hit the shed and hit the left side of the house where he and his wife were hiding in the corner
