Sweden has by far many more truths than two. And truth is based on the values of the person and the questions asked. Swedish people are caring and friendly just not in a american or souther Europe way. Newcomers just need patience and show understanding of Swedish behaviours in communication and contact for a lasting relation. We absolutely are not bored of our long term friends. Swedish people value loyalty and friendship!
"Everything grinds to a halt in June", well thats the price we pay to be able to have 25 days of vacation. Lets be happy instead for those who is off duty, they are worth it. No one wuld like to go back to "the dark age" and only get 10days wacation a year. Be happy😅
I think most swedes don't eat cake or paestry every day. Maybe once a week at work and then candy on the weekend. When people say they have fika every day at work they usually mean only coffee.
I disagree - Swedes are not generally introvert, but we're not as open to people we don't know as people from e.g. South Europe tend to be. Most Swedes are not very comfortable with superficial small talk - Swedes tend to talk about things with a meaning, Then again - once that wall is broken you will probably remain true friends.

Thanks at first for your efort to explain how it is to live in Sweden! As a UK-German family.. its kind of the closest one can get, to any scandinavian living.. even the language! To bureaucracy.. I think we are closer to Germany.. everyone supose to be registrated, and as a property owner, one supose to to register anything one like to do on ones property! I belive its the same for starting a company.. registration! I leave our tax system out.. its complicated.. but in reality not that much! Then to make friends, mothers and fathers can often make new friends by there children, same school, same area, same sport club! I thought that your spouse supose to be the new football coach? In anyway, thanks for explaining how it is for a German-UK family, to live in Sweden!
Enter a healthy lifestyle along with a lot of sweets such as fika and then be able to stay in good shape. It takes exercise to then be able to eat sweets without gaining weight. We have dogs (small Papillon) so there will be long walks before fika. If i/we don't exercise, there will be no fika😁😄
Well, Sweden is sometimes something like a US-wanna-be, which you can hear when we speak our silly US-like English. I guess that's at least a part of the story when it comes to sweets (”candy” 🤮), fast food, celebrating Microsoft, Apple and Amazon and calling lifts ”elevators”.
@@Patrik6920 Well, at least when it comes to ”smart”-phones, according to the statistics I found (2020, quick search, maybe there's something more recent out there): iPhone 47,37 % Samsung 24,96 % Huawei 14,42 % OnePlus 4,15 % Sony 1,73 % At my work you can read "emergency elevator" on some of our lifts. On the other hand, our new lifts speaks British English (and Swedish, of course, but the wrong dialect: ”Durr stängs”).

@@LivingSwedishSoftware like Audacity can work quite well to remove constant background noise. Not sure what can be done (if anything) once it's uploaded to youtube, but if you should discover in the future that something you've filmed has a background noise, you can try removing it with e.g. Audacity.
To be honest I don't think I know anyone why eats fika with pastries every day. I do it maybe 1-2 times per week during semla season, and a lot less often during the rest of the year. Also, if I were to move to Sweden I would probably do it in december or january. That way, your stay will begin with at least six months of brighter every day!
You mentioned the issue with getting friends in Sweden. Perhaps I am a bit different from many other Swedes but me experience is that when interacting with colleges, both Swedish and from other countries, I often have felt that we are friends but it then proves that this was not mutual. If will find that that other person does not consider me a friend but a business contact. I have often felt thast to be dissapointing. I suppose that I am just more ope than many others.
