It's going to be louder now, because you have more cone area, but there isn't anything wrong with dual, I've had dual head units and dual amps that did ok for the price point
LOL. Always fun to see people not really into car audio getting into it. The kicker would have only been nominally better than what you bought. I have one 12 chilling in the back seat, but I also have over $1K into my system.
The settings are not to get the most bang, You do not want to have over 80-100Hz frequency to be going through the sub, Built in amp should have the crossover all set as it is really dependent on the driver (sub) and enclosure (box) but the GAIN setting is dependent on your RCA voltage going into it. There is a limit on how high this can go before it actually loses and sounds horrible to boot (I understand you want to feel it, well the better you hear it, you should feel it too above ~18Hz) The issue is if the amp "clips" it causes the amperage to spike and dumps into the sub coil, That translates to heat and will burn the sub and/or blow the amp. In this case you may not really experience this issue however if you start playing around more into it with other brands, it will be a quick way of setting your money on fire in other words. I am just trying to help you learn as a bad experience can put a bad taste in your mouth and turn you off on the whole thing. On the other hand, It is like a drug, once you get addicted, you are always chasing that first feeling over and over again! and only gets more and more expensive to get your fix! lol Someone mentioned below they have almost a g in their set up, not talking sheet but my subs were over $900 each and my amps were over $800 each (I have 2 of each) and that is hardly scratching the surface (wiring, batteries, alternators, speakers for mids and highs, amps for mids and highs, wood to build a box, sound deadener. BTW Integra's are amazing acoustically and can be crazy loud (Means a lot of bass, why? I have no clue lol) with very little (wee bit more than that but it's a start!)

@@TNG11Automotive I'd rather take the time and explain over calling you names and not actually sharing insight. Unfortunately you'll find a lot of the latter in this hobby and there is A LOT of misinformation and disinformation out there as well. It truly is a neat hobby that teaches you a lot of things especially electrical. I hated wiring with a passion on vehicles and now I've been into the hobby for a few years I have no problem wiring a car correctly and even diagnosing wiring as well makes much more sense. I should add I am a mechanic by trade but my passion is cars and every aspect of them, I do it all (engine swaps, manual conversions, welding and fabrication, electrical, suspension,body ect. Literally everything) As for system, my recommendation is 1 15" Skar sdr or evl with a ported box, sub facing back, port back preferably. Start with a skar 1500 amp. Play with that to get your feet wet and that sub will allow you to grow. For reference my sub is a 15" that weighs 91 pounds and I have it hooked up to a ~4,800 watt amp (actual RMS watts). I'd put 3000 watt amp on a vxf tune it properly and let it eat! Another tip, if you smell the coil get hot (it stinks like hot brakes) or see smoke hazing out the port, do not turn it off, turn it down! The coil gets its cooling by moving in and out, if you shut it off it just sits and heat soaks. If you smell it, it doesn't always mean it's fried. Just let it cool down and let the glues harden before running it through the ringer again 😂 you want to go with a ported box, since you want to feel it 😆. Also look into DJ Rusticals and DJ Slow N Throw. Watch out for bass boosted tracks as some are dirty. I'll watch for more videos and try to help where I see fit if you so choose to venture

I've experimented with cheap brands and you would actually be surprised on how good some brands can be at half the price.but I've also been on the otherside and ran expensive brands and have been blown away with performance and power,I run with what I can afford at the time
i had the kicker pt250, wich i believe is what they're mentioning, It was great and really did bump for the price, eventually upgraded to 2 12s and amp separate, but my dad took the kicker and put it in his explorer. it ironicay matched perfectly with the interior as far as color and once he tuned it to how he likes it the sub sounds amazing but not overbearing and had amazing sq while paired with the door speakers, it also sounded great at any point in the truck and ou could almont not tell there was a sub in the cargo area at all. the kicker is a great all in one but if all yu wnt is a good amount of bass and bump then this option is perfect
I run a 10" Dual sub for a little more bass and it sounds just like my 10" JL did from 20 years ago. Dual has come a long way and is underrated for the price imo.
The Skar amp is twice the size. Hiding it will be a problem. Rocking '15's.... Don't mount your amp to your thingy that has the speakers in it. They will just rattle apart. Kickers are the way to go. Sears are awesome on a budget...
The woofers will blow when they do a Rockford Fosgate R2D4-10 Prime 4ohm will drop right in also if you want the box louder 1.5" x8" dual ports on the top of the box 1 on each side will properly port that box i run 3 of them with 3 Fosgate 10's in my mini truck it hits pretty damn good.
Some well installed quality door speakers would give you a lot of the punch you are trying to get from the subs, good subs aren't really designed to produce that sound. The kicker is probably producing more of the lower frequencies but less of that mid bass.
Also they sound good cause you have a hatchback my sister used too have a older integra hatch back and I put 4 . Six “x” nines on the rear deck lift thing people swore she had subs nope just door speakers and the 4 six by nines .
On wiring when you are powering 2 amp no mater what you get the splitters and in fuse so your main wire should be a 8 gage wire down to a 10 gauge then your ground should be separate. OFC ( oxygen free copper)wire delivers better then CCA ( copper clad aluminum) ofc is more expensive but its worth it but if you in a budget build then you'll be cca. The one at Walmart have a mixture of both witch that's a great terrible combination so i wouldn't go for it for long shot. Tuning your amplifier 40 of 50 hr to your gain then your frequency 80 to 120 hz try to not use base boost or subsonic on your amps .
You made double the Speakers so better air travel. 2 kickers would sound way better as well. The best approach for any stereo is go with better amp and box and even cheap speakers with sound good. The bigger difference between the dual vs kicker would be at better amp and box and would probably compete with the 2 duals bye its self unless you do the same for Duals. Bottom line is how it's built, somethings can be cheap but somethings can't. A budget build comes from that exact equation. Personally I like to see higher ohms, exacting watts and max volume. Lol I love watching people truly understanding and sharing the stereo experience
We tried both the kicker and the dual by them selves but to us it felt like the dual had more power ! the boxes were basically the same on size but the amp and the woofer are the only difference between the 2 but we will continue on trying many more ! :)
@TNG11 Automotive I get you. Lol I watched both. That's what I mean. The kickers speaker rms vs dual would be different. Even if they say the same. It's stupid absolutely but kicker specs are under and dual is over.
So I had one of these and I found out if you pull the amp out of it and you put it in a ported box, the sound is completely better. It really opens up the sub and the bass

Skar is unbelievable! I am from Stillwater, home of Kicker. I have a mess of Kickers. Price point, but tunning your box and all that shasta. Love my Kickers.... For the price. Skar is a better deal. I will say my kicker 500 watt blows away stars 1200 watt... A little truth in advertising ....
Hi Level input = speaker line to input Lo Level input = RCA line to input Crossover is frequency adjustment, not amount of bass. 90hz or lower for subs like this. Gains should *NEVER* be set to 100%. It will introduce clipping & distortion a lot faster. Killing the sub. Remove the sub from box, add polyfill or pillow stuffing. It will "trick" the sub into acting as if its a bigger box (deeper bass). I'm interested in trying one of these in something without a system, just to see. Good work guys.

I have installed the RZR amp and a Gothic 12 into a Toyota Camry before tool around 25 hurts and it would move the steering wheel everything from Walmart those dual pre-loaded enclosures are trash the amplifiers never last as specially if you are looking for maximum bang
We thought so as well but the kicker subwoofer didn’t perform as good :( one dual subwoofer was stronger than one kicker itself and price difference was double!

The "loud" setting on a radio doesnt make anything "louder" it makes the volume more increased at lower levels basically makes the volume jump higher without having to turn it up alot (which would make you think its "louder") but it's the same level at max meaning it doesnt effect the overall output at the end
I dont mind the brand base is base but i wil say that you having your wires like that can start a fire . I don't think you wanna do that in a classic Acura Integra like that bro. Enjoy it now vut later you always grow into wanting more.
I have one of these on my Prius and I have to leave the gain almost all the way down if not it overheats and goes to protect mode. Has that happened yet? Usually after an hour of use. However with the gain down it doesn’t but the bass is not really any good just there. Came free with the car but it just makes me want a real setup 😂

100% worth it ! You can super notice the difference right away ! Now alot have argued that you can get a better set up for the same amount of money or maybe less and its true but if you want to find out if this set up can perform , it could! sounds nice ! feels nice ! the risk is really nothing since walmart provides 30 day return for electronics so you can confidently buy this set up and return it if you dont like it :) , We honestly liked it alot and thought it was worth it :)
Don't turn them up at first u have to brake them in or they will blow ! I had one I reversed an it sounded like a 15 ......then it blew not to long after that
I just installed one of these tbx10a and it’s pretty dope, but I’m tempted to add a second one like this video. Will I need to rewrite my truck with a 600 watt kit now? The box says 300 watt on the sub and amp combo so I wired with a 300 watt kit. Now that I might add a second is that a concern?
Being completely honest i didnt add a better gauge wire or rca , all i did was add a rca cable that has 4 entries on one side and 2 on the other side ! so i can connect 2 woofers on the 4 entry side and use the other side that has 2 entries to connect it to the rca wire that runs to the stereo
I used a 70 amp chip fuse , 8 guage power wire , 12 gauge ground wire , if you look at our first video about this Dual woofer you can see what we did more in detail :)
Check out Skar audio they make affordable subs and amps. My Skar 10" is doing 800rms. My mirrors, headliner and body panels all flex on the car. It hits very hard for how small it is. Tuning your amps properly makes a big difference. Voices should not be heard from the subs unless it's a super deep voice. LPass should be 80-100hz, bass boost should be 0 and gain should be no more than half.
After seeing this video I purchased a set of 2 tbx10a speakers and they banged for like 2 weeks. they didnt come with straps so that was a red flag, i sprayed painted them black, one started to blow the 15 amp fuse, i changed grounds, same problem, was down to 1 speaker, and it too started to blow fuses left and right within seconds of turning radio on. how long have your set of speakers lasted? are they still kicking? I gotta call in for warranty and maybe send pictures
Really sorry to hear that :( , Our setup has lasted 8 months as of now and there still kicking pretty hard. The ones you purchased seem to have been used previously, we made sure the ones we bought were completely new, people will purchase something and return it as a regular return and not say defective so the store re-stalks the same ones they returned and when you go to buy them you think there new but in reality there not, there used , especially if you noticed missing pieces , i’d make a warranty claim on both so you can receive brand new ones unmolested.
Well we can’t guarantee thats its 100% safe but i will say that we’ve had this set up like this for 1 year now and we live in a area where its super hot at times , literally 115 degrees and so far everything has been good !
@kson566 Oh wait but yours aren’t built in subwoofers right ? your going to be using an amplifier separately from the woofers correct? if so then your set up will and should be safer as long as everything is wired correctly and nothing is at risk of being crimped/ smashed/slashed that could cause a short ! you could use a 4 channel amplifier and power both subwoofers! and you can use an rca splitter to feed 2 rca connections off of 1 !
Those pre-loaded amplified enclosures have a b-class the a b-class amp is designed for vocals and to sound really good not to get maximum bang like you are wanting that's why you can still hear the words coming out of the subs and the amps inside of those boxes probably ain't giving you butt 40 w a piece take that s*** back bro get you one power acoustik Gothic 12 from Walmart 1 power acoustik razor amp from Walmart build you a box that is 2 1/2 ft internal install a 4in porthole about 20 in long install that in your little Honda and you will ride around with thunder in the trunk rather than the two fighting gerbils you have in there now
Fyi crossovers aren't meant to be maxed out unless you are controlling them at the headunit and the gain isn't meant to be maxed out either u are clipping them subs to death lol I guess good job on trying
the kicker sub from walmart ain’t good, but once you end up on the higher price for kicker subs you will know they are good as hell. the kicker q class L7 is at the top you should give them a try they are really pricey but damn just two q class L7 8s in a good custom box has windows and doors flexing
We’ll for sure get to that subwoofer and try it out ! but yes Kicker brand is a really great brand overall, obviously every brand has there cheap items and items that didn’t come out so well but overall good brand !
My two American bass HD 10 handle 2300 Watts RMS each and have entire buildings flexing. I'm pushing 5k watts to 2 - they're only $250 each and sh$t all over the kicker L7.
@@lewokejames any sub can do that when your pushing that much power to each subs🤦🏻♂️, and i was talking about 8’s not 10s i bet you probably haven’t even heard 10s, 12s or 15s from the L7 q class line up in a good custom enclosure and if you say you have you definitely lying lol. i’ve seen 8s flex windows to houses and people say they feel the bass from inside their houses, your subs are probably badass don’t get me wrong but i doubt they can compete with the cone area from the q class line up when pushing the same power without clipping
