Two Week Update - Going over the Seicane Android Head Unit in a Jeep Wrangler 

Thanks for shooting this. I've been on the fence for a few months due to lack of a real testimony/video review. I also have the Alpine system in my 2016 HardRock so I wasn't sure how that was going to work. Looks like I'll be buying one now.

A year later, how do you feel about the head unit?

You should make a video on how you essentially “overclocked” your radio. & also how did you tie in your external Sirius radio? I purchased this unit & am trying to be prepared for when it arrives

Awesome review, I read on xda that there is gonna be a 4gb of ram version with android 8.0 released soon, so I'm waiting for a month to see if that happens then I'll pull the trigger

If you are getting a hum with engine running but not while engine off it is emi interference it’s easy to fix with an isolator

I found that if you do turn off loudness it sounds way better...

I have a similar unit which I recently installed on my Jeep. I am pretty satisfied and learning. The only problem I have so far is the Radio. Reception is not that good even with local station. I do not if it is something with the installation. Is any thing you can help me with to fix this. Thanks.

“Smartest” video I’ve seen on this unit, to date. I’m a medical professional, so most of the computer jargon you used went right over my head. How difficult is it, for the layperson, to make the changes to the unit as you described? I’ve been wanting this radio, but am hesitant due to my lack of understanding of the Droid OS, as I’m an iOS user. Thanks for the video and look for more.

The humming is your rca wires exposed

does yours shows when you open the doors? i just got one for my aunt and doors don't show and i enabled it but nothing any help and also how to enabled fast boot? oh and the factory alpine sub is not working or is way to low eve with me puting sub or bass volume up did u rewire the sub cable or something?

I purchased the seicane S391171 8 core cpu, I've just installed it last Saturday it is great and looks very nice on my jeep but will I was fooling around with the setup menu I modified some settings and my display got messed up and I can get it back. Does the Google GPS voice work when the radio is playing? I have a similar HU and I can not get any GPS voice after starting the radio.

Great review! I am an audiophile junky with my Jeep rocking the tunes, lol. Your comments about personal preference is so accurate, music is to each individuals taste. Some spend money on bigger tires, huge lifts etc, all personal taste because Jeeps are so personal. What dash cam are you using, have you done a review of it? thanks for your great content!!

How much different does the aftermarket dash look compared to stock, coloration wise?

Download Screen Filter app it lowers brightness more than normal setting, then all you have to figure out is how to have it come on with the head lights and then off again

What wire did you use to have your back ups camera to work without the lights on? I bought this unit after see your video unfortunately they sent me a 2015 dash model not the 2013 and my screen was crack which I try to work with them to get replaced or they want me to “install a new screen myself”

Are you able to put a sim card in it to have 4g internet on it? Like a cellphone pretty much

Do you have any problems charging your phone while using the sync cable? I don’t think this unit puts out enough power.

I just got this unit, and 2 things arent going well for me. I got a very very faint sound coming though my after market subwoofer with an amp build into it. I wired it in before using the original sub wires so for the most part it was plug and play. Any suggestions on what to do to get the sub going, it almost sound like speakers are cancelling each other out? and 2nd problem, i got the WIFI back Cam, wired it on the head unit side, seems to be on. Wired the other piece to the rear light wires, so it only turns on when pressing brake, or reversing?? (havent got that far). It's not working, please help with any advise. Internet is very limited on info!

Question nice video but how did you set your radio up to be instant on could you elaborate on that? Is it in your settings for your radio or is it a certain way you wired it up I have a Jeep Renegade with a 9 inch 7.1

Hi, I really appreciate your videos they have been a lot of help with the head unit. I installed the radio today, everything works great with the exception of the music through Bluetooth. I can can call and receive calls however when I play music from my phone no sounds come out. Everything seems to work perfect with the exception of the music !! Hello I have a couple questions I recently bout this secaine screen and installed it I’m having a couple problems my play store app launches but it stays on the same screen after I type in my info and doesn’t log me in 2nd I have no more radio only like 2 stations work 3rd my amplifier app doesn’t adjust to the music it lets me move around the bars but the sound stays the same if you plz can let me know if you know how to fix this problems plz and thank you

Great job, but I really want to know how you set it up to always be in sleep mode. When mine has been off for a bit it takes some time to restart and then I have to enter a password

If you have the alpine upgrade you need to cross two wires to get the best quality. It is a huge difference

what channel did you set the PAC to ?

I recently purchased one of these but I’m having an issue using the WiFi. It is able to find the signal but it never connects. It simply says connecting and then it stops. Is there something I might be doing wrong or did they send me a faulty unit?

Great videos you helped a lot during the installation, I got 3 questions: 1. Where did you find the setting so it starts right away every time? Mine starts completely when I turn my Jeep on every morning. 2. I got an Android phone and I can't make it see my contacts to be able to make a phone call straight from the secaine. 3. Is there a way to lock the screen, I sometimes borrow my Jeep and I don't want anyone wondering around with my personal apps. Other than that I love this head unit and it looks great! Thanks!

Ok so what internet is the GPS running off of? I can't play spotify unless I make my phone a hotspot? Also is there a way to keep it from going mute when I put my jeep in reverse?

If it's andriod they have apps that will dim til not even visible... But warning if u do U MUST KNOW where everything is at or good luck finding the app after screen is too dark to see

Do you have to use your phone's hotspot to run gps that's the only way I could make it work for the one I put in my wife's Jeep it's the same radio

iv been using the unit with android 4.1 , the sound was amazing and high quality audio. then update to android 5.1 unit and i don't like the audio stream in same vehicle. no clue with android 6 and 7 unite!

My seicane goes on black screen time to time, so I have to disconnect jeep's battery in order to make it work again (not funny), Seicane support is a pain on the ***. Does anyone has the same issue?

I have an issue and slightly irritated. I purchased this unit close to a month ago. It was working awesome and I was enjoying it. But one day I started my 2015 wrangler and it didn't turn on. I checked all the fuses and they are good. I plugged the stock radio back in and it worked fine. I emailed seicane and they said I needed to wire the acc wire into the vehicles acc wire and it will work. That means nothing to me. I don't know if you can offer any advise. Thanks

my seicane radio didn't work from day one and the company don't like to replace the unit....

I installed mine and then after a day the audio stopped. Almost as if someone cut off the speakers. I rechecked my wiring and connections. I went into the factory setting and I can’t get any audio.. obviously it didn’t come with instructions and seicanes help have been horrible. I don’t even get hum. When I turn the volume up I don’t even get that clicking sound. Please help

I have the old unit with android 6. something. At around minute 0:15 you said that you have a setting to keep the unit on all the time and does not have to start or initialize the unit when it has been turned off for longer periods of time, did i understand that correctly? if so, can you share such setting/hack? In my settings the longest time to avoid the unit to turning totally off after ACC is off is 60 minutes.

How come I can't watch RU-vid

I've had mine for two years now and no real problems with it, the only thing is that when I am using nav and listing to music (which is always) after about an hour the unit will over heat and shut off. If I don't turn the ac on and blow cold air with the vents closed every 40 minutes or so for about 10 minutes, even in the winter. Any idea how to stop it from over heating? customer service was useless.

Seicane is the worse company you can buy a radio with. Poor customer service. Sell defective product and take forever to refund. Don’t waste your time buy a name brand. Stay away you will regret buying from them.
