The street takeover itself was underway at the intersection of Century Boulevard and Hoover Street at around 11:40 p.m. Sunday when a double fatal crash occurred.
Residents had been fed up with street takeovers for years. Time for the sheriff's / police to take proactive action. There is revenue that can be made issuing citations, impounds, fines and suspending drivers licenses. Hit those financially and generate money to get back to the community.
Charge this as MURDER instead of (only) manslaughter will help deter it.. It is a premeditated act. They choose to do this, knowing full well that someone could get killed. That can be included in the definition of murder.
You can't charge a corpse. According to other reports, the other driver was simply driving down the intersection when the red car ran a red light and collided with him.
I remember being in the Bay Area going to side shows and having a ball! I never knew how dangerous and annoying it was for the people that lived and drove in those neighborhoods! Now as a older adult, I’m frustrated with it. Only thing I can suggest is make those intersection of residential areas round snouts or speed bumps.
This wasnt a street take .. as there stating, the red car took a red light and jammed another . Theres no evidence of the take because theres normally a footage shown on every single take over . But sadly 2 lives will be used to put a stop to this mess and use it as a example. It needs to stop .

All of that is unacceptable. And the individuals taking over the streets need to be held accountable for disturbing the peace and causing chaos. I can bet the individuals taking over the streets do not pay taxes. But the people living there do and this nonsense needs to stop. No one should have to live like this.

Give them a safe area to do it else it will continue want stop it but at least slow them down ppl have been doing donuts since they made cars. Sell these super fast cars and engine but give you no place to drive them at. These are mostly kids a lot stealing the parents cars
there but you have to pay. irwindale which many dont want to pay because most are irresponsible kids who most likely dont even have a job and if they do they most likely spend there cash on modifications
I guarantee they wouldn't go to a legal area to do this. It's all about getting clicks for being wild and flippin the bird to law. It has nothing to do with appreciating the cars or needing a place to meet up with friends. The only people who would show up is a few curious real car guys and the cops.
Some of you in the comment section make me sick ....it's still under investigation and anyone can get stuck in these takeovers ....the guy was probably involved in it saying he was doing 45-50 mph speed limit isn't that high ....r.i.p they died so young ....but the car scene will never go away be safe yall
this is hardly the car scene. It's people getting Instagram clicks purely for breaking the law and being wild. The car community as a whole denounces this madness.

@@heatshield the family is devastated no one knew she was there ...she had just graduated and ready to walk on stage ....God only knows how the other family is feeling ....there was a time when they opened up the drag strip for free but that didn't help SMH
So nobody stuck around to see if the females where okay? It don't make sense if it was a street take over not every single body would just split and bail the scene I'm sure people would have stayed and at least attempted to help this case feels fishy
