Thank you for spending time with me today! Here are links to the books I highlight in today's video.... 2025 Mornings With Jesus: guideposts.org... Praying A Word A Day: guideposts.org...
Every morning I have been doing a plethora of bible studies topics from various Pastors on RU-vid. And lately when a particular scripture speaks to me from the study I pause the video and write the scripture into a dedicated notebook titled "Life verses for me ". Today Psalm 63:3 My lips will glorify You because Your faithful love is better than life ❤️ 💖 ♥️
I use Journey from Lifeway, Open Windows, also Lifeway, Beside Still Waters, a Mennonite publication, Streams In The Desert and others .I also use Mornings With Jesus 🙏🙌💖🧑🦳. I may not read everyone each day, but I have them all over the house and in my carry bag! And some are on FB.
Good Morning Sherry. Your blouse is so pretty on you. You always look pretty, and have such a sweet personality. So glad I found your channel. Thank You Jesus. Have a wonderful day. Thank You for the information on Bible verses and info. on books etc...God Bless You. I really love your channel.
I have been using Morning with Jesus and a similar devotion called Walking in Grace every year for many years. They are also available ad Ebooks and if you are on a limited budget the older ones from previous years go down in price. I find them handy on my eReader as I can take them with me on my travels. I am just going through Pray a word a day and I am constantly charmed by the words. I thought each word would be biblical in nature but not so. My word today was glitter. It spoke about a woman who liked to bring little gifts to her grandmother in a nursing home. She brought glitter nail polish and before she was done, all the ladies had glittery nails and I suspect big smiles. A beautiful reminder for us as we care for the aged and sick. Also available on ebook.
Good Morning! For years now, I have used Walking in Grace, Mornings With Jesus, and All God's Creatures-I recently added this to my morning devotion in the last year or so. All of these are Guidepost devotions. My mom and I, thousands of miles apart, do these 3 each day. I am also doing a Bible plan with my church each day. Throughout the day I find myself going back to something from my morning devotions or maybe it is something that comes to me during the day. I am amazed everyday how God takes what I have read and studied that day and incorporates into my day somehow.
I agree! When we start our day with the Lord, his teachings truly permeate all that we do. Thanks for watching and telling me about your devotion habits. ♥️
I have a weakness for devotional books. I have so many. I don’t use the same one every day. Just depends on the season I’m in. One of my favorites is an old one called Streams in the Desert. It is so uplifting during difficult times. Love you Sherry. 🩷
Thank you Marcie! The season of life I'm in at the moment is giving me a little time to film and share. It's a lot of fun and I appreciate seeing lots of longtime followers, as well as meeting new ones. Thanks for watching!♥
I have used My Utmost for His Highest many years..also, Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon..you and your channel are such a blessing! Greetings from Mexico..
Hi Sherry, Mornings with Jesus looks like a good daily study. I've used several different books, and recently found one I used years ago...My Utmost For His Highest, by Oswald Chambers. It is so good! I enjoy going back through my books and reading again! Thanks for sharing your favorites. ...Melissa💙💛
I have the Pray a Word a Day book and have enjoyed going through it. A friend gave it to me for Christmas. Mornings with Jesus sounds nice.🎉❤ I have a Morning and Evening Spurgeon devotional. It's always good to see your videos.❤
Thank you my friends for such wonderful support to go to when and if we are in a spiritual drought. Love your channel Ms Sherry. Giving honor to God for using you and Pastor to helping so many to get back on track or even to begin. There is no excuse for saying I can’t do it! Love you and prayers abound for your health daily, In Jesus Christ Holy Name! He is oh so good all of the time! Love you.
Through the years I, too, have done different things. I have been using He Holds my Hand (Carol Kent) for the past seven years. Along with this, I use a devotional that my son and daughter-in-law get me for Christmas every year (always a surprise but seems to be just the perfect one). I journal (so many different ways) and this helps me to dig into the Word and spend special time with Jesus. Thanks Sherry. Blessings and ❤
Greetings Sherry! Lately I have been enjoying the little Choice book devotionals that you can find at the drug stores or Walmart. I think I first found these during the pandemic time and I really like them. My current one is 365 Days of Prayer for Depression and Anxiety. Love and blessings ♥️🙏
Thank you for your recommendations and encouragement. My main Bible Study/devotion is the Bible Recap. It’s a read through the Bible plan and there is also a coordinating podcast. I really felt this year I wanted to strengthen my knowledge of the Old Testament and this has help tremendously. I also like the Daily Bread. Very quick and simple. It can be delivered to your email inbox every morning or you can request their little booklets. I like to keep the booklets handy so if I have a down moment I can read it instead of constantly scrolling social media.
I use Sara Young books. Jesus Always. Embracing Joy in his presence, 2 Jesus Listens daily devotion prayers of peace, joy and hope, and 3 Jesus Calling morning and evening. I love these three books. I also use Daily Word is by Unity publications and In Touch is by In touch ministries . Very good books. They give you things to think about as you go about your day. I read them through out the day or early in the morning after my daily prayers. ❤❤❤
Hi Sherry. I use Faith a Life’s (from you tube) daily Bible reading plan. The 2 devotional's you shared looked interesting. I always get so much out of all you share on your videos. Thank you. ❤
I have been working on my relationship with the Lord. I currently do not have a devotional. Mornings With Jesus sounds wonderful! Thank you for sharing!! I hope you have a wonderful day ❤
Oh Bettyjo, sounds like God is doing a mighty thing bringing you here in Ms Sherry’s family! Praying God speaks healing in your heart to draw closer to Him through His Word!
@@bettyjo2737 good evening Ms Bettyjo, I pray you have been able to seek a devotional that help your heart to want to dive into Gods Word. God really loves all of us. But He just wants us to leave the sinful nature behind and follow Him through Jesus Christ. God bless your daily journey!
Hi Sherry, I use devotional books too every day and I listen to youtube devotionals. Those books you're showing us are excellent. God bless you, love Ginny in Sydney Australia ❤
Thank you, this was encouraging for me. It's good to have variety in our devotionals, not get in a rut, have fresh ideas and ways to spend time with God and listen to His voice..Then to apply it...:)
Thank you Sherry.. I’m going to look into this ..recently I found a old devotional that I had… Secret Strength by Erica Tada it’s really good for the place I’m in now… there is so much ahead in this crazy world that is against Christian’s we need to stay close …yourscripture writing page is really help it’s a huge difference in reading something but also wring it down…it seems to stick in my head…have a good day..♥️🙏
So glad you are enjoying that devotional. I love it when I buy something, put it away for a bit, and then later return to it and find it's just what I need for the situation I'm in. I think we're going to see some difficult days ahead in our world. I would like to do a video talking about this. ♥
I love that top on you! Thanks for sharing. I didn’t realize guidepost has that yearly devotional. I may get the 2025 one perhaps as a gift. I’ve been particularly blessed by “New Morning Mercies” by Paul David Tripp. I just recently purchased it so I probably won’t buy another personal devotion for at least a year or so. For deeper study I can’t recommend enough Kay Arthur’s Precept upon precept books. She has one for each book of the Bible.
Hi Sherry . Thank you for the wonderful video ! The Guild Post devotional sounds like something that I would enjoy . I like the idea of a faith action to take every day . Would you ever consider have a live craft and chat ? I realize that not everyone crafts but they would probably still enjoy the chat part . I don't wish to put on added work for you so please don't feel bad if you choose not to do something like that . Just my thought . Thanks Sherry . Have a blessed day !❤❤🙏🙏
I would probably love something like that if I knew more about live chats!😅 One of my twin girls is trying to expand my horizons and she's trying to teach this old dog new tricks, like using Chat GPT to create videos and using video editing and voiceovers. Who knows! One day I might learn how to do live videos here. LOL. Thank you for watching, friend!♥
I try to first get into God's Word, because I feel like I'm cheating myself if I go to someone else's book first. Once I've gotten something from the Bible on my own (of course from the Holy Spirit) I then go to a Bible study book. Right now I'm going through Jennifer Kennedy Dean's "The Life-changing Power in the Name of Jesus". It's a wonderful meat-filled Bible study and I'm getting so many new truths from it. I don't always get to her book everyday, but I do try. ❤
I use Beside the Still Waters which is a free Mennonite publication that comes out every other month. I've used it for about ten years now. I'm also planning on adding The Little Women Devotional by Rachel Dodge which use chapters from Little Women. Its a really lovely devotional.
Hi Sherry. These are nice devotionals! I was wondering how you like your Jesus Bible? And how you use it! I am putting sermons notes from Sunday in the margins. And I underline too. Blessings and prayers, Sherry! 🩷🙏🏻🪴
Hi Doreen! I'm so glad you are making good use of your Jesus Bible. I only have a few notes in mine so far. I keep small notebooks that I carry with me to church and I write Sunday morning and Wednesday night notes in them. I keep them all together in one of my bookcases. Sometimes I do transfer those notes over into one of my Bibles and I have done some of that in my Jesus Bible. Blessings, friend!🩷
I know you have probably mentioned before, what is your story behind choosing the name, The Homespun Wife? Do you have any book recommendations about Isaiah? I have been deeply reading the book in the Bible.
Hi LaRhonda. I was drawing a blank so I asked my husband for his recommendation. He loves J. Vernon McGee's 'Thru the Bible.' While my husband has the physical book set, he often chooses to listen to it on audio for free. If you go to Blue Letter Bible's website online, you can look up Isaiah and select audio/visual. There you will see the commentary by J. Vernon McGee for Isaiah. You can both read it and/or listen to it. McGee has the most exhaustive material on Isaiah. Blessings, friend!
Is there a Bible or book that Explains what the verse means . I usually get a verse on my phone in the morning. Sometimes I am not sure what the meaning of the verse means.
@@tammywalters7786 Hi Tammy! When looking for understanding of verses or chapters, it helps to access a good commentary. I sometimes use Bible Gateway or Blue Letter Bible online. You can also search on Google: Meaning of…(and then list the verses). That search will bring up various sites that will break down background and meaning of passages.
