I have a pair of Trumans, Grant Stone, White’s and 1000mile boots. I’m not sure, should I get a pair of Thursday’s, or it will be a big step down in quality and comfort? They are just looks great on pictures and keep showing me their commercials lol
Thank you for the update, nice looking boots after two years, i have the Captain in Tobacco for over 2 years now and i use them as my boots when i go in the forest and also working in my yard and they have held very well.
This was a very good update video Patrick. It is hard not to like Thursday Boots. I love their chukkas, especially the Rugged and Resilient line. They are easy to care for and fit my personal style perfectly. Also, Thursday's customer service is second to none.
Actually looking at the Thursday shoes for work. The Thursday trucker jacket is nice but the Huckberry trucker jacket sale might be worth waiting for. Saw your comparison of the two.

Thanks for the updates. Your Captain looks very good and the patina of the leather is amazing. I have a pair of Captain myself in Arizona Adobe for about 2 years as well. Patina very nice and it’s one of the most comfortable boots I own.
Thursday is a super solid company…I have a pair a dress loafers that I wear to church every Sunday last couple years and they are holding up really nicely. I also have the scout boot, the roughout chukka with wedge sole. Another great pair that goes with everything…congrats on the milestone!
I just got my first pair of Thursday’s last spring. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to boot season. The patina on that color does look good though. Can’t wait!
For being 2 years old they are in great shape. I don't wear boots as often as sneakers (I spend a lot of my work hours running around, bending or kicking my shoes on and off to walk on the white world), but man all my boots get beat up way worse than these. I have been eyeballing the Captains in the Burnt Copper for a while now. Might have to go all in once the weather cools off a bit here. I dig the long term look at the boots. I like seeing how these products hold up to time.
They are! This gives a view of how long they can last if you wear them in an office setting and out to dinner and stuff like that. No "hard wear" on these, really. Should last me quite a long time! Which I'm stoked about. Burnt copper looks like a great choice, I think.

I don't think that gets enough talk. I think they started in 2014? If so, the CPI calculator says $199 then is like $260 now. Eventually they're going to have to raise prices I think. And I bet most people won't even be upset. I'd easily pay $219 rather than $199 and they'd still be probably the best deal and best entry-level boot.
Thursday Boot Company has a niche in entry level goodyear welted stout boots that are best worn rough. Great update on how they are holding. Would like to see Thursday using more premium leather like Horween or CF Stead in future.
Really appreciate these update videos. Those boots have built up some nice patina and aged very well. Nice to see that Thursday's are putting out a good product at an excellent price. Congrats again on 1K and keep the excellent content coming.

Thanks, and yes, I understand your dilemma. Some of their other leathers are offered in wide sizes. But if you don't mind taking a few minutes to mail them back, you can always try them on and send them back if they don't work. I do a lot of that. I don't have the Captains yet but I do have 2 pair of the Diplomat moc toe. I have been very happy with the quality and the relatively short break in period of Thusday boots. Will buy again. Captains are next on my list to replace some older Florsheim cap toes that have worn out rather quickly.

My Captains were my first non work boot and honestly I feel like I've fallen a little out of love with them. Even though the Arizona Adobe has held up incredibly. I find myself gravitating towards my Legends

I think Thursday boots are a solid entry level for lace-ups much like how Tecovas is a decent entry level for cowboy boots. I’ve been eyeing the Vanguard in waxed cacao for a while now but I’m hesitant to pull the trigger until I see more reviews on that specific model.
Mine is too, brother! Just embrace it and blur the lines... hah! Not sure if you can get away with it, but I've been rocking boots at home (in my office) and in the office for awhile.
I haven’t pulled the trigger on the Thursdays yet but other than a couple of my cowboy boots I don’t have any boots that straddle the line between business and casual. I may have to trawl through Thursday’s site tomorrow to see what really catches my eye.
Yeah, I actually was surprised too when I started shooting this video. I haven't looked closely at the soles in a little while. Still in GREAT shape. I need to try to beat them up a little more this fall!
Your one year update video on those boots was one of the big things that sold me on getting a pair of my own. Love the way yours have continued to age, hopefully mine will look similar around year 2. Nice review. I also first bought the majors, but exchanged them for these (also in CXL and 10D!)), and have had them for a couple weeks now. They are breaking in nicely and I am also looking forward to seeing how the uppers age over time. I don't baby footwear and there are already "character scuffs and marks" (as I call them). So far I've been pleased!
I have a pair of Rancourt Ranger Mocs in this leather and you’re right, Natural CXL is a fantastic leather! I’d love to own a pair of Thursdays, but haven’t pulled the trigger quite yet!
Love your videos and love your channel I’ve been looking at that exact pair for over a year, and the leather looks absolutely amazing with age. A pair of those would be a great candidate for the patina thunderdome.
Good question. Diplomat is slightly less supportive as far as shape goes, but the extra cushion of the wedge sole makes it slightly better over a really long way I think. Both are good enough that I wear them based on outfit and mood, though.

My two pairs have way heavier wear on the soles after way fewer usage days. I'm looking at resole after a season of use. That said I use the boots outside. Shoes inside a home will always be a complete mystery to a Swedish person.
My soles look way worse after 2 months, lol. But I wear mine on concrete, blacktop, chip and tar, packed gravel, etc. That would be, my driveway, the road I live on (walking the dogs), parking lots, stores and the shop floor.
Thanks for showing the inside outside video and photos. The colors in these boots are confusing and coming out of the box is totally different from wearing them for a long time.
You're welcome and thanks for the comment. When possible I like to show a boot from multiple light sources for that very reason. Studio photos are often very non-representative.
Thursday just keeps coming out with new styles too. I just got and email announcing new colorways in addition to the shoes they added earlier this week.

You are quite welcome, and yes, for the price these are nearly impossible to beat. I assume you mean the ones at the end on the right? Nope, those are some stretch houndstooth trousers from a brand called "Scotch & Soda," but I can see the similarities. I actually do have a pair of Apres Pants in the indigo slub. I wear them a good amount around the house, but the fit on me isn't perfect... my calves are too wide for the taper!

Oh, 100%! Black is cool and has it's place, but I wear these with EVERYTHING, even some faded black jeans/chinos. They look great everywhere, you can't go wrong!
Have the same boots. Your boot patina and the soles look great! Mine are wrinkling a bit more in the toe box area and I feel probably need some conditioner soon. Have you conditioned yours at all?
Nice! Yes, I have. WH\hen I first got into boots I conditioned them way too much. Now I do it less, but these probably have been conditions 4-5 times, but not in the last 4-5 months or so. I also used shoe trees when I first got them and was wearing them a ton.
Thx, and good question. My foot is slightly wide. I mostly wear D width when I expect a little stretch, but I do have a 10E in GS Diesel. I think with these you can probably get by as long as you arent an E pushing Eee! And sizing up a half size probably would work well on the Captain.
Really good question. I think it depends on the aesthetic you are going for. The crepe soles on the Astorflex stuff are pretty much always going to be more comfy for most, but they will wear out more quickly. And they provide less support overall, so if you have feet sensitive to the amount of support in a boot, that may be a factor. And Astorflex doesn't do a service boot style like Thursday. They are both good at the price point!
Great question! And I also have a pair of Matte Blacks on the way. :) SO - the idea is that you spend a bunch of money on a nice boot with nice leather that gets better with age... but if you wear them every day the rubber sole wears out quicker than the leather. You go to a cobbler and for ~$100, they'll take the sole off and put a new one on. This boot being "goodyear welted" means it was constructed in such a way that re-soling is straightforward and the boot can be returned to "like new" condition, at least on the sole. This way you get a "new" boot for cheaper than buying again, you create less waste, and you get to keep the cool leather upper that is broken in and taken on a character all its own! I've only been into boots for a few years and I've got so many I haven't worn any out yet, so I have yet to do an actual resole myself. But there are TONS of videos on it on YT and they are actually quite fun to watch. I recommend Bedo's Leatherworks and Trenton and Heath for good entertainment and education. Cheers, mate!
