Some of the millions of Ukrainians displaced by war found their way to Finland. We met a young music teacher by the name of Sofiaa, who is from Central Ukraine. She came to Finland and fell in love with a Finn named Otto.
We have Ukrainian friends. Sadly they are here because the war. Absolutely wonderful people! Hard working, humble and decent people. I can say if it's up to me you have permanent home in Finland if you want that.
Ukrainians are the most adorable people on earth. There are Ukrainian refugees in Sweden as well as in whole of the Nordics and they are highly appreciated. Hardworking and brave people, true Slavs. 🙏
Beautiful voices, it’s a shame that an elderly despot has inflicted so much pain and suffering on millions of innocent people. Shame on the Russians for being a passive human mass, not real people with a sense of dignity. Thank you Finland for harbouring these great people in their time of need. You have had your bitter taste of Russian imperialism in the bygone years. The heroism of your grandfathers and fathers will never be forgotten as will not your own contemporary kindness. Love from Canada 🍁 We have quite a few people of Finnish origin in Northern Ontario which, with its abundance of lakes and forests, resembles Finland a lot.
Ukrainian resistance to that despot has also helped complete Ukrainian national identity and reinforce Ukrainian self-respect. It is crucially important to stand with Ukraine and keep helping Ukraine, as a fellow democratic country. If we help defend Ukraine as a fellow democracy, if we defend its citizens and independence, we will also defend our democracies.
@@ZemplinTemplar But we don't! At 1st they all wanted Ukraine to collapse the fastest under Russian bombs, pass to another next subject and then business goes on.
I'm absolutely fine with my tax money going to help the Ukranians. We have the same history with the same problematic people. Our country is fine now so we can help Ukraine. And we have to. All they want is to live like we do. And they have the right to do so.Slava Ukraine.
@@johnzarn3367 minority keep quiet while majority speaks 😁 we live in a goddamn democracy, so dealt with it. But yeah I do donate monthly + pay taxes :)
So am I :) and donate 1-2% of my income every month to lift99/UA-charities. Until the end of the war. Don't mind those russian bootlickers in the comments 😅😅 "Itsensä ryssälle myyneitä tavataan aina silloin tällöin. Varokaa näitä kataloita isänmaattomia lurjuksia, joiden paikka olisi ihailemassaan ryssän maassa!"
Hope all Ukrainians will have a good time abroad during this stupid war that started by Putler the Dwarf. We pray that Ukraine will stay free and independent for all time 👍🇺🇦🇺🇦🙏
Man, all of humanity is on display these days, from chilling, unimaginable horribleness, to heartwarming goodness. Thank you. Дякую. Kiitos. ❤💔🇺🇦🇫🇮❤🩹❤
Just followed the story as " calmly as a Finn" from Nederland. I couldnot understand with all due respect that the Finnish boyfriend thinks that " Ukraine is more advanced yhan Finnland" , as for me Finnland must be at the vanguard of so many essential developments. But apart from that , absolutely intriguing and I feel happy today seeing that so many Ukrainians have found shelter in that safe and solid Finnland . Best wishes from Nederland.
Welcome friend. There were a surprising number of Ukrainians already in Australia, many came as displaced people found in Germany at the end of the War.
The same when we French people go to Greece or spain : people are speedy Gonzales. 😆 And in northern countries it's the opposite. A lattitude question may be.
😀 Challenge yourself out of your comfort zone, no more "finnish" pretext and make someone's day better with a simple how are you. You don't know How Much they need it (and how happy you will feel about it yourself). One day someone else will help you in Your moment of need
You really should act on these thoughts. For example, I've complemented totally random people in the queue in the grocery store or just randomly when going somewhere and I can promise that not a single person has reacted negatively to it :) It will reward you in the end :) And yeah, I'm finnish also.
0:25 Videon editoijalle huomioksi, ensi kerralla kontrastia ihan ihan vähän alemmaksi niin ei valkoinen ole luonnottoman kirkas :) Muuten hyvä video, keep up the good work!
glad to see that Ukrainians are being welcomed into Finland with open arms so to speak considering that during the Winter war where many Finns died defending their land against conscripted Ukrianian soliders of the Soviet armies under Stalin - a rather under covered story that needs to be discussed no matter how painful the memories, in my opinion, as I continue to maintan that: Ukrainians must now face the possibility of death defending their land against Russia or risk again being conscripted as little Russians to fight in Putin's further wars of Russian imperialist expansion and pacifying its neighbours at a latter date where they risk being sent in "Russian meat wave attacks" Rus exercitum delenda est!
Temporary? Many of them will assimilate till the war is over and living conditions improve there. Better accept the facts. Prevents of false hopes and helps everybody to go on. They need as fast as possible jobs. It helps to feel useful and productive than fret over things that can’t be changed so fast.
i dont have the skills to distinguish it. both are very close slavic languages, closer than estonian and finnish. Many ukraineans speak russian primarily. Depending from where they are and how they grew up. So, a finn is not able to tell - if a person is russian or ukrainean. Better to not judge a person based on the language.
Adolf Heusinger, Hitler's Chief of Staff, became Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, 1961-1964 Hans Speidel, Rommel's Chief of Staff, became Commander in Chief of NATO Forces Central Europe, 1957-1963 Johannes Steinhoff, Luftwaffe fighter ace, became Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, 1971-1974 Johan von Kielmansegg, General Staff Officer Wehrmacht High Command, became NATO Commander Allied Forces Central Europe, 1966-1968 Ernst Faber, Lt Col Wehrmacht General Staff, became Commander in Chief NATO Forces Central Europe, 1973-1975 Karl Schnell, First General Staff Officer 76th Panzer Corps, became Commander in Chief NATO Forces Central Europe, 1975-1977
which country fostered Finland as an independent nation Ukrainians, Swedes or Russians? just keep pokung the bear, and you will see that your "friends" will sell you in a heartbeat! once situation drastically changes Finland becoming Swedish province or teritory divided by Sweden and Russia is not off the table.
It's interesting that only russians still thinks like imperialists. They often talking how Poland will take part of Ukraine and Hungary will take some part. The era of empires are over, getting territories with several millions people that will hate your country won't benefit you. Main resources today are people and ideas, not slaves and lands. Every country can easily buy things from another, you don't need to occupy lands to get their product, just buy it.
@puzzled012 Did you earn your potato? Finland had to fight off Russia at least TWICE to gain and retain its independence. "just keep pokung the bear, and you will see that your "friends" will sell you in a heartbeat!"? Typical Russian exercise in projecting Russian attitudes onto other countries where they simply do NOT fit. "once situation drastically changes Finland becoming Swedish province or teritory divided by Sweden and Russia is not off the table"? Seriously? Dude! You have to stop listening to Putin's 'Ruskie Mir' bullshit! Sweden is about as likely to cooperate with Russia to divide Finland as Hell is to win the Stanley Cup.
@johnzarn "These people play the victim..."? No playing involved. They are citizens of a country illegally invaded by Russia. "...but know full well that Russia is a good place to live"? What does that have to do with the price of cabbages? "These people..." are Ukrainians, NOT Russians. They have NO interest in living in Russia, or being Russian either.....
