A couple channels have started realising Twoset's videos as reposts. It might be against YT rules, but I don't care. What Twoset did to all us fans isn't okay. Yes, they did the work, and yes, they can do whatever they like, but without us fans, they wouldn't be famous nor earn money.
Even if this is a rebrand or a joke, I'll always support them (literally). This makes me heartbroken and makes me cry for several days, but I think I'll be by their side like the last 4-5 years.
I'm actually mad. They haven't done this right. I think they forgot the fans they worked so hard for. If they reappear, I don't know what I'll do. it probably depends on what kind of return they do.
@@xandraxandra1437 I understand why you are mad and yeah they should (maybe must) do an explanation video for what they did to us. Also, I think that nobody surely knows what to do when they reappear actually but let just wait, time will answer, and I hope that this will go right.
really shitty way to treat people especially when you think about how they always spoke about integrity and "blasphemous" became one of their catch phrases. It just screws the public over really badly, particularly those people who have just discovered them--and just totally bad to delete all their content so that nobody could explore the richness of their creativity. It's terrible betrayal of public trust.
Yes, agreed. We am working on a marathon video to bring to you what we could get access to - around 10 hours of video... Stay tunes and hit the bell icon to be notified when the video is out.
No they are NOT forming a quartet with Igudesman & Joo. If you read the instagram post, you'll see that Igudesman & Joo were just as surprised by Twoset's anouncement as anyone else. This is just a fun video they made together and they are talking about Igudesman & Joo's retirement. The John cage 4:33 reference is a give away they are not serious at all of course.
Well, we probably can only speculate now. They recorded their joint video five days after the initial TwoSet post. So, it is possible I&J were surprised at that time. We need to wait and see the next moves. I will keep you posted on my channel
You know that was a joke? Retirement quartet because they all retire and they are 4 persons. Don't believe in that. When there was a new formation, they would have announced it another way.
@@ClassicalMusicNews yes, I absolutely agree. At the moment we have to rely on hints, given by several persons, that may know about their plans. But I think this reel is meant as a joke. And that is it that gives me a bad feeling. When the video appeared, they have already disappeared. Leaving back thousands of sad fans. It's not really funny towards them making jokes about their retirement, right? Would be another thing if they had given a proper explanation.
But what if they are just joking, saying they are a 'quartet' bc all four of them 'retired' at the same time. They could Just be using musical terms to be funny
This will not end well. First you leave all your fanbase that supported you and made you famous in the dust without any explanations. Then you come up with a new format and pretty much force your fans to listen to that. I would just boycott them so that they learn that you cannot treat people like that. I just don‘t buy it that they flattered their fans for years with their supposed gratitude for their support to just forget about it in an instant.
@@kachikawawa_ Well, I am not sure on whether this is a wrong move (time will tell) but the handling of it and the communication could be better, no doubt!
All two set fans know that John Cage 433 equals silence. So that little “retirement” video is not an announcement of anything. So not sure what is purpose of this video.😅
Well, neither of Twoset said anything about 4:33. It was Alexey who mentioned that. Why would Igudesman and Joo would be in that video and what is the purpose of that video then in the first place? To announce they will be silent? It does not make sense but announcing the next venture in this "innovative-unpredictable" way is more in their spirit. However, only time will tell. Thanks for the comment.
@@ClassicalMusicNews its a somewhat-inside joke about the twoset's editor being stuck in the basement or something like that, which has appeared on a few relatively old videos of theirs haha
actually don't care if they form a quartet because they really screwed their public over. they don't deserve continued following or the endless lauds and Strads if they cannot maintain some professional integrity that shows some respect to public that loyally supported them financially and emotionally. The general public paid their expenses, so they should be a bit more responsible to the public and not just destroy the past work. They may have created it, but the public paid for the work.
It is true to the extent. They also earned it through their creativity and youtube paid them the most of their earnings I guess. Maybe I am mistaken though...
@@6-dpegasus425 no, not overreacting. Destroying an archive is not exactly professional behavior. If any major opera singer acted in this manner or any major soloist, say pianist of high public profile walked off stage and then systematically had all past recordings and performanced destroyed; the outrage and anger would be unreal and there would be no further support. Once you perform or publish something, it's no longer yours but belongs in the public. before, I would have said they truly deserved solo careers because they didn't do anything so much different than so many soloists before them. Pianists used to live their entire lives on trains hauling their pianos about from city to city and it wasn't easy life. TwoSet built a public, received attention, recognition, opportunities and Strads and then screwed everybody. Not really very impressed. If any major soprano, say Ludwig, Janowitz, Callas, whoever had done this-- there would be absolutely no future discussion of any future. So seems they want double standard: they want to be perceived as professional musicians, but behave like narcissistic bloggers. So let them be obliterated like bloggers. Horowitz vanished from the stage, but he didn't destroy his archive of recordings. Verdi didn't just decide to destroy everything he wrote. After all, he published the woorks and after that they came into the public domain eventually. TwoSet has very strange definiteion of "professionalism" and they no longer deserve much respect because they just aren't very responsible or professional in this behavior. They're just bloggers that deserve being obliterated from memory. Terrible betrayal of public who funded and paid their rents, expenses etc.
@ardeladimwit they're private, not deleted, so they can still be brought back, that's the main difference. However if they do refuse to ever elaborate and also never revert it without explaining, then maybe
@@ardeladimwitI agree, they could have done this so much better. I don't know what happened, maybe something very private, but they didn't have to delete themselves and crush the fans. They talked about moral, but didn't practice it.
I seriously don’t get this. Instead of leaving a nice legacy, they’re just seemingly trying to make their audiences think they’re pieces of shit who tricked them by being likeable and betraying and leaving them hanging with weird jokes as hope.
The worst part is I wasn’t able to go on their world tour when they came to my city a year ago. It’s cool that they are still around though. I hope their legacy continues. They inspired me so much to keep going on the violin.
I think it's the beginning of their next chapter and we will have more opportunities to see and hear them play, maybe in a different capacity, however.
In a bunch of the content, there was an undertone of the pursuit of money. I'd not be too surprised if they got themselves into some sort of business trouble. The self imposed stress to create, upload, the very early anticipation of the next million subs party... Success appeared to become numbers rather than notes. Happy to be wrong.
Well, it is hard to stay completely away from the success and the numbers of fans they got, particularly when as young as they were/are. We will see...
Hmmmmm, they might have been hired by a company to form that Quartet and they had to delete their content as an element of the contract? But I don't get just how much money they got to accept such ridiculous contract. They'd sacrifice their freedom of expression on RU-vid... Or it was that their channel wasn't owned by themselves and by quitting they deleted their videos as retaliation?
Yes, I think it is possible it's a contract thing. Time will tell but I am curious whose take on the actual reason for them to delete the videos will be the true one!
The body of the violin is the bone box, every String a stream. The horse hair is mercury, G the Sun, D the soul Venus, Then the earth moon mars is A E with the tritone. There is 1 say to play the tritone so that it's consonant. That is how you pray using the violin. But you can also prey using it, its called the Rudrabina in India. Prayer is the real assassin's creed. Don't be afraid to read your own book and to know your history. Listen to know one else but only your Soul, hear what it speaks to you. - Anirban Vegeta
In an alternate reality? I think it looks like a temporary quartet just for one performance, just like they made earlier, when they participated in quartets and ensembles to make a video.
Haha, you are correct. However, I am in music business for more than 30 years and I find that sometimes classical musicians can be unrelatable:). TwoSet Violin definitely brought classical music closer to the masses and made it more approachable besides other things.
@@ClassicalMusicNews operati😢😢ve word "brought," past tesnse. I think they were being a blackmailed somehow. Or are tied up in a dungeon. I hope the quartet thing is a gag
The video embedded in this video in the middle of it. That was their way of announcing it... I am not sure if this is the best way but that's what we have.
Yes, many people do so. I think they know it and will have to break the silence soon. We are watching it closely and will keep you posted. Meanwhile, we are working on a TwoSet Marathon video to give an overview of their entire legacy from early days till now. Stay tuned...
