I dive into the Tx5 minimalist saddle, Ive wanted this saddle ever since I saw Zack R tease it last deer season. Ive wanted an ultralight hybrid type setup for a long time, I tried the kill deer which is a great option but I wanted more comfort, behold the TX5 Minimalist saddle.
This is an unboxing style review and I will have a lot more to come on this channel about this saddle!

Good choice! This is what I run all season now from a tree stand. I love this thing, more that the Dryad.

@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I like that I can use my saddle set up, platform sticks and also my climber. I think I may bite the bullet and get a really small lightweight tree stand that way I can do everything with just one piece of equipment. Plus, a small tree stand would be so much more comfortable than some of those saddle platforms.

That's what I use primarily is a LWCG .5 for hybrid style hunting. I think its the best of both worlds.

A saddle and stand combo is an effective set up. I don't know why some people insist on them being separate. I'd suggest you also look into a ring of steps as well. You can use it on its own or in conjunction with various platforms or even a stand. A ros can really increase your shot opportunities in certain trees.

I believe the little sleeve over the buckle is to reduce jiggle noise. Kind of how you pointed out on the leg staps in the lonestar video.

What size saddle did you go with? I'm a 40 inch waist but I plan to run the saddle with my lwcg .5 and on website it says get a small if you plan to run it with a lock on. Wondering should I go large or the small? This will be my first saddle. I've been running the rock climbing harness and i wana switch to saddle instead.

Interesting product but that price point is crazy. Why not just buy a quality stand like Beast?

@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I just think you get more bang for your buck. Heck even the LWCG is near this price point. I personally don’t see me spending $300 on a piece of cloth.

@Nate Hyde gotcha, this saddle is really intented to be used in conjunction with a stand, you can then lean in the saddle when you dont wanna sit or stand. It really just gives you more comfort options.

I honestly am not a fan of magnets while hunting just for the reason they could mess with a compass. Matthew is a genius. I’m assuming it was latitude outdoors that had the issue, great saddle I have one but they use magnets. Which is funny because the latitude guys are the ones who recommended TX5 packs to me lol

Thats a good point about the magnets. Honestly the magnets were super cool idea but im glad he figured a good way to work around it. Matt is a sewing wizard. Im not sure if it was latitude or not but your probably right since they are the only other company I know of that uses them.

Have an Overwatch Transformer for saddle specific sits but looking for a ‘hybrid’ setup for sitting on a stand and get away from a harness - contemplating this or Dryad Killdeer. Any opinions on either of these two, or anything you may have tested since this video? Comfort and ease of use are of the utmost priority.
