Yeah, and probably 100% lip-synced and mimed to pre-recorded tracks in Logic playback. Unfortunately, a very common occurrence in the big dollar touring world where 'show biz' outweighs musicianship.
@@bloodromance4776 @Blood Romance A sad narrative on the modern state of "music performance" and nothing "real" about it at all. It's miming to a studio recording and not a genuine live musical performance where skilled musicians play live off one another which creates an energy that no canned, quantized and lip-synced mime ever can. I've been a professional musician for over 40 years and have performed with supplemental backing tracks as well as all live professional musicians, and will take the later all day every day. That's the "real world" of professional music performance.
As expected, a good keyboard player turned into a button pusher, that’s the nature of current pop music I guess, not judging, I would’ve also taken the gig and done it the same way
From my experience, running even ONE laptop live isn´t "super simple and dependable" ! Cool gig that I would LOVE to have, however being old school, I could see 2 great players using a 3 keyboard rig each covering the gig. I would assume with Katy Perry, the visual takes precedence hence the 1 player on stage.
She has actual musicians? I thought she just lip-synced to her auto-tuned voice in digital tracks. Sorry if that sounds harsh but she is a manufactured artist. millions of women could do what she does with the same support crew, and promoters.
