Deserve? He's won several races this season and finished considerably well every weekend. If Gragson wasn't going to get the trophy then Ty was the next, based on the performance throughout the year.

Mate Dale's pushback was on racing style, Gibbs is hated for WAY more -Robotic and soulless in interviews -Dumping his teammate who was in position to win and join Gibbs in the Champ 4, instead it's 3 JRM cars -Invokes Jesus at every turn, to the point of comparing himself to the guy in "being hated initially" -Gets almost no punishment of substance -Races others hard, gets raced hard back, goes into a blind rage and starts punching Mayer while keeping his helmet on -Insists he will learn and do better and then reverts to being an ass He's just Joey Logano with religion and zero self-awareness

Not really. He still has to be able to drive the car and handle the pressure of other top level drivers. That’s not to say he isn’t in the best equipment, but I don’t think anybody is disputing that. Not to mention he’s only 20. I’m personally not a fan of him, especially when he races like he did at martinsville, but when he races clean, he’s very talented. He’s likely going to have a long career so I would at least wait to see how he pans out in the cup series before you sour over his persona. Even being as early as it is in his career, he’s pretty concretely placed on the villain side of the scale. It’s only fitting considering he’s replacing Kyle Busch in the 18 next year. Love him or hate him, you, me, and many others watched the race in Phoenix.

When the drivers don't want to race you, the fans don't want you racing, sponsors are complaining about being on your car.. what is he doing it for? Is it winning if it's illegitimate? He would have gained back all of the respect he lost if he didn't even participate in the final race. He's a horrible example to kids everywhere. I just don't understand the purpose of being a professional race car driver if your existence in the race ruins the watchability and makes the entire event pointless..
