Excelente Eloi!! Muchas gracias por explicar éstos conceptos! Y la idea de mantener siempre todo procedural es genial. Hay muy pocos tutoriales dónde se usen DataChannel u OSL. Saludos!!
OMG really awesome tutorial, and very enjoyable. I like that you show us how to combine different stuff. Perfect tutorial! Huge respect for it, and keep up the good work! ;)
Awesome! ! Great to see you are doing your own tut videos. Maybe you can explain more deeply the data channel in 3Ds max would be nice to know what it is. Muy buen video
Fabian Mariqueo Ramirez You can check my tutorial for snow/mud, where I use datachannels as well. Also take a look at Martin Coven youtube channel for more advanced and well explained data channel tutorials.
pretty cool and all that, but the guy just use the data channel to show some nice tricks but not like showing (because he doesn't even talk XD ) how to use them, or the logic behind the system you know, more like a Adan Martin vid ;) pero se agradece de todas maneras tu ayuda siempre
Fabian Mariqueo Ramirez with this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9Y45tgxQgfY.html. And the velocity one, he covers quite a lot, and he is speaking!
With data channels you import your vertex selection, do a "Convert to face" export the face selection. Then I use editpoly set to "animation" and extrude. The inconvenience with this is that you loose the dynamic extrusion, where you can have higher or lower extrusion based on the falloff.
@@andvfx It only seems to bring the selection into the Edit Poly if the value of the a face in the Data Channel is >1.0. So that soft selection doesn't come in, or if the face selected is below 1.0, you don't get any selection. :/ Any way to grow that selection? Or raise its value?
I think I figured it out. Put a Normalize before the Face Output, and raised the Max value. Too bad there's no way to connect the extrude amount to the vertex selection or color.
