In this series we'll be tying patterns from "A Compendium of Canadian Fly Patterns" by Robert H. Jones and Paul C. Marriner.
Many of the patterns in this book are quite quick and simple to tie. This series will appeal to both the beginning fly tyer and the experienced angler who wishes to turn out effective patterns quickly.
Some of the patterns in the book use patterns that are difficult to obtain or simply not available. We'll look at material substitutions that replicate as close as possible the original material. The patterns cover trout, steelhead, and Atlantic salmon flies, plus those for other fresh and saltwater species.
So check out this new series as I'm sure you'll find some patterns that will work for your fishing.
