I started tying flies first, years ago. I’ve tied some extraordinary flies, especially Mayflies, using others RU-vid videos. Thank you very much and that’s a huge compliment coming from someone with your experience. 🙏. I may make a video on tying some flies.

I would start with the cheapest tools available, then if he likes it, buy better ones. Look at BassPro Shop, or a local fly tying shop. You can buy a kit very reasonable. That’s what I started with, a small fly tying kit. Then he can get into tying jigs later. Thanks for your support 🙏
