A simple yet deadly early season buzzer pattern . Very easy to tie definitely suggested for those new to fly tying .
Hook : Fasna 310 sz10 or Kamasan B175 size 10
Thread : Black 8/0
Rib : Med fine silver wire
Wing buds : Orange crisp packet
Finish 3 coats Sally Hansons hard as nails varnish

Cracking Tim, This Crisp Packet buzzer was the first I learned to tie and then tweaked and changed it many times but this version is the most successful for me and the one I use the most. Looking forward to your Grey Boy buzzer

Ever try different colour crisp packets? Thinking green or yellow could be productive also

Yep they all work , Yellow is a great cheek colour for buzzers .. beef monster munch !!

10s mate ... these are early season buzzers so are predominantly big .

Really enjoy your videos Tim, just getting into some tying myself. About to tie myself some of these buzzers. Would you recommend adding some uni Mylar pearl on the top of the buzzer thorax above the cheeks?

It will look nice , I dont think it will increase its success rate but try a few and compare your results .. it may make a difference on your waters . Fly tying is all about experimenting after all ... I will be posting a grey boy buzzer soon and that does have the mylar over the thorax .

All the materials info is in the description below the vid mate . This thread is just a black 8/0 . Uni threads or textremes would work just fine . UTC would also be fine .

Absolutely mate . Buzzers are on the trouts diet year round . Most prolific in their larger forms Early spring to summer but buzzer fishing is a very productive method throughout the winter .

@@garystedman324 This time of year , single booby on a 6ft leader ...count it down till you think its on the bottom a slow figure eight retrieve or sink and draw so a long slow pull then a pause for 3 seconds then another pull. Check out my Grafham fry feeders part 2 vid .. I fish a single white booby on a DI 3 and catch some beauties in the harbour ...
