General caddis imitation that's best on fast waters. It has excellent buoyancy so its also good as an indicator fly with a nymph below it.
Just make it in few sizes and one or two colors.
One of the assets of this fly is that its very visible in almost all conditions.
hope you liked it
tight lines
Vladimir

I really love this fly because of its simplicity... I would love to give him five or six thumbs-up not just one.... Oholis does a stellar job of instruction and tells you what he uses on the fly... Love that!!!!

Lovely fly. I also love using partridge as front hackle. Gives loads of life. Like making "bumble" type dry flies as search & test flies. Cheers Torben.

Really nice tying and a conceptually well-thought-out fly as usual. You can tell how much you are thinking about the fishing as you tie. 👍 Can I ask where/who you buy your hooks from? They look like they are nice and I get the impression from your videos that you don't want to pay 'over the idds' for your hooks and materials (neither do I).
@Oholisfliesandfishing
@Oholisfliesandfishing Год назад
Thank you so much for your kind words I get hooks here in china directly from factories. But its not always good quality. I needed some time to get good supplier. Makes it easier for me because i live in china. Apart from these, tiemco is by far my favourite hook. Whenever i can get them on discounts i would take some.

Awesome looking "buggy" fly :o) That multiple wing reminds me of the Mikuluak Sedge, very cool doing it with ss hare. I'm glad you mentioned saving the underfur for the Usual, one of my favorites ever since I fished the W.B. Ausable and visited Fran Betters shop many times in the early 90's. When I asked him about tying flies he said "just make them buggy". Did I hear you say you don't tie it? It's very good in fast water, especially when it's pulled under during a drift. I enjoy your tutorials a lot, you use many techniques I've read about then used in my tying - like winding the thread through the soft hackle. By the way, the "wild cat" fur in the dub mix, is that the fur you mentioned in the video with your "collateral" cat? ;o) Thanks man, you tie some great stuff!
@Oholisfliesandfishing
@Oholisfliesandfishing 5 лет назад
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad when people find something useful in my videos. Thatt buggy thing is all that matters. I believe that fish see stuff completely differently than we do. Even colours. So just an impression not replica is what we need to do. Wild cat fur is a fur from a wild european cat, i had it dyed in few colours. I mix it with UV ice dubbing because i think it improves the fly a lot and i add a bit of cdc too to trap some air bubbles as well.... result is a very fluffy buggy dubbing that i use both for dries and nymphs. 😀
