Agreed. I honestly love his "sound" whether he's got his band with him or not. I can say there really are SOOOOOO many more layers to the onion, band in tow. YET, the honesty and raw talent of his solo acoustic tracks- sold me. Not to mention his Pink Floyd/Time cover. One of my all time favorites, and I Just love the way he plays/sings it. It's unreal. Not many artists that I can say made me cry the first time hearing them. None- other than Tyler Childers, as a matter of fact. ( To be fair, it was 6 am, and right after a cocaine binge, and the song was nose to the grindstone. Lol ) I think he's more country , and more talented than ANY of the big Nashville stars- along with Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, and Colter Wall, and a few honerable mentions, like Zack Bryan and Cody Jinx, Anders Osborne, and Markus King.......
I can't believe I haven't heard anything from him until tonight but I'm glad I stumbled upon him love every song I've heard so far especially white House road I'm hooked
Funny how she calls tonight I need her more than ever I've been down in low cotton As lonesome as can be And I think about her often, boys And even when I'm sober I read over the love notes The ones she wrote for me [Pre-Chorus] And if she want one night Well that'd be just fine, well [Chorus] Somebody fetch my walkin' cane I'm gonna get my baby I'm gonna run to meet her 'Neath the shadow of the pines She's gonna hop that coal train She'll get off on Harlan Road Love me 'til the morning comes And leave me like a dream [Verse 2] And I'd run to her through tobacco fields And over 'cross the clover I'd wade a mile of briar patch, boys Just to touch her skin And I reckon I'm the foolish kind To beckon to her callin' But I can't seem to help myself Let that woman win [Pre-Chorus] And if she wants one night I'm gonna get what's mine, well [Chorus] Somebody fetch my walkin' cane I'm gonna get my baby I'm gonna run to meet her 'Neath the shadow of the pines She's gonna hop that coal train She'll get off on Harlan Road Love me 'til the morning comes And leave me like a dream [Bridge] Buddy, all I know Is I can't win for losing Either lay here in this lonely room Or let her have her way Buddy, all I need Is one night where she don't leave And this one just might be the night She decides to stay [Chorus] Somebody fetch my walkin' cane I'm gonna get my baby I'm gonna run to meet her 'Neath the shadow of the pines She's gonna hop that coal train She'll get off on Harlan Road Love me 'til the morning comes And leave me like a dream Love me 'til the morning comes
@@uneducatedandopinionated8936 IIRC he did write this and Newtown covered it as well as Hard Times. I think I caught word of that in a video somewhere. I may be wrong though.
I can't get enough I blast his stuff in my shop tell the sun comes up. This song and cinder and smoke are real good ones but so is all his stuff. This guy desrves a award for his music
I wish Tyler would write more music like he used to. He had some great songs. Don’t know what happened on his last 2 albums. Sold out perhaps? Whatever happened it’s sad
Honest question, I want to name my daughter Harlan, after this song.. but considering the song’s lyrics, is that weird? It’s the only name we’ve agreed on.
Pissed this song isn't on any of your albums! Also, really prefer the stripped-down stuff and this rockin-stuff. Know there's financial pressure to really be "country" but you lose some of the raw heart that way. Procrastinating while writing a brief, discovering Tyler C. one of the upsides to procrastination!
