Tyler Shultz reacts to Elizabeth Holmes verdict 

Good for him. A rich kid with a VERY famous last name risked his rep and relationships with his family to do what’s right. Much respect.

This man needs to be given a medal. Him and other theranos whistle blowers are true heroes who saw wrong and tried to right it. Thank you Tyler.

Tyler is golden. He radiates, and I'm grateful that he so courageously stood up for the truth in this hideous situation.

He was also threatened and intimidated by her lawyers. His Grandfather choose to believe her instead of his own Grandson. Integrity matters.

This is awkward, this just shows how messed up we are as a society. The guy was rightfully upset because of the defrauding of patients. But the justice system decided to prosecute based on the defuding of investors. It would’ve been nice if there was a mixture of the two.

one of the MANY disturbing things about this is the fact that they found her guilty on the 4 counts defrauding INVESTORS, not the four on defrauding PATIENTS. I cant even begin to imagine the things the people who got wrong results had to go through, yet she was found not guilty on that. its ridiculous. Just shows me (once again) the system does not care about the victims.... (also they should've let him finish speaking instead of interrupting a million times lol)

This kid has so much integrity. Inspiring to see how much morality and character he showed in the face of so much potential person loss in speaking up.

Wow I wish they would stop interrupting Tyler. He’s the man and I loved every word he said. It takes a lot of courage, even now, to speak publicly about his experience with this.

Tyler is a hero in this. It is sad about the loss of his grandfather's support for so many years, but so glad to hear that his grandfather finally admitted that Tyler was not wrong at the end of his life, telling him the story of Elizabeth's claims to the Navy. Tyler stayed true to his claims regardless and now since she was found guilty of 4 counts and her prison time will be served concurrently she will still face the same sentence as if she were found guilty on all counts. Sounds like justice was served no matter how it came to be.

Thank you Tyler for going up against a titan/fraudster Elizabeth Holmes, after $150K (CORRECTION 400K) in legal fees (that almost financially ruining your parents) & constant mob-like threats and surveillance from the Theranos pit bull (aka David Boies), your famous grandfather still backing up Holmes & dividing your family… after all that…. I commend you. You prevented SO many death from happening. You, Tyler, are a real hero.

This was an odd interview. The reporter asking "What do you mean?" at the beginning threw the whole thing off. What did she think he meant?

How could they not convict her on the 4 counts of defrauding patients? There were thousands of false tests that could have affected the patient's lives! I am still incredulous as to how this whole Theranos situation could have gone on for so long.

I read the book by Carreyrou, I wonder when they are going to go after the lawyers who were threatening and intimidating the workers who knew the lie?

Kudos to Tyler! There are people that work at very toxic companies, and don't have the courage to tell people what's going on at their place of work, because nobody would believe them. And its sad because as a kid you're taught if you see something then say something, but who do you tell if no one believes you?

Kudos to Tyler for standing up to his moral conviction despite the negative impact between him and his family. It was a great 👍🏻 interview of a whistleblower but I wished that Gayle King would let him speak instead of interrupting him. It would be great to hear this young man’s thoughts on his decision to go forward publicly.

Kudos to Tyler for his courage and honesty. The world needs so much more of his kind of character. He is being generous and doesn't want to seem vindictive about her sentencing. But the truth is there are tons of people out there who will never learn and will always keep trying to get over like she did unless they are held accountable. Tyler is a nice young man, but the world isn't always so nice. Yes, she needs to do some time.

The verdict in effect said, mess with the average person 's health and you get off, but swindling wealthy investors out of money crosses a line and you will be punished.

He was raised well. He’s like he’s like living and breathing movie character, but he’s REAL! Tyler and Erika saved so many lives! They risked themselves to do the right thing. Glad that in the end, the truth came out.

Good guy. He had family backing from his parents, and honestly, that’s a good thing because Theranos tried to bury this kid, and ultimately cost his parents $500K in legal fees. Erica Chung was another young girl at the company who blew the whistle. She was terrorized by them as well. People like Tyler and Erica give me hope for the future.

This is a video you show, say, to a class of upper primary schoolers or early middle schoolers for whom values are establishing during this time of their human development. Living by your values. Not easy but clearly satisfying and no doubt life changing. Not for the media attention he's receiving but for how it shapes your view of yourself overall and your relationship to others. Now, journalists: PLEASE stay quiet long enough to let your guests answer a question!

I have been watching this Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos case since news broke regarding its false test results. I applaud Tyler Shultz for his integrity and his will to be a voice and advocate against bad science and its impacts to public health and safety, but unfortunately, at the cost to his professional and personal family relations. It must have taken a tremendous mental toll on him and the other Theranos whistleblower, Erika Cheung. I not only sympathize with these two individuals, I empathize with them. Unfortunately, there are more "charismatic" bullies like Holmes who pander these disinformation and unfounded science tactics to maintain annual cash flow and beat annual "earnings". This mentality is not relegated to the venture capitalist world like Silicon Valley. This mentality of "fake it until you make it" have infiltrated into the public/government engineering sectors as well. At least in this Theranos business arena, we are seeing the consequences of this "fake it until you make it" corporate mentality.

I don't know why this anchorwoman kept interrupting you, but despite her selfish and malicious interruption, you did an amazing job. Your Grandfather was proud of you in his heart, he did not express it, the fact you handle the conflict within your family shows your strength. You saved millions of lives by exposing a narcissist and a psychopath.

Tyler you are a real hero. When I was 22 I also challenged authority. Most often I won, and it made for a great career, fast promotions, but in two occasions It led to me being fired. Never bothered me. The truth is always the best way to go. No job is worth bending the truth. Congrats.

One of the hardest thing in the world is v to stand on the side of truth. Well done sir, thank you for doing the right thing.

To those who are concerned that she will walk free please note that all her charges have a mandatory fine up to$250,000 ( I believe ?) so she could have to pay up to $1,000,000 and each charge carries a mandatory prison sentence of up to 20 years and and they are most likely to run concurrently, which means that if she were found guilty on ANY of the counts (even just 1) she would serve the same sentence as if she were found guilty on ALL the counts. Thus she will be sentenced to prison in the future, ( maybe 6 Months from now,) but until that time she is allowed to be out of custody. The reason being that: while a murderer or other extremely dangerous criminal to the community or public at large or someone who poses a flight risk would be taken into custody, immediately after a guilty verdict, an individual who does not present a danger or threat to the public is often allowed to be out until sentencing happens. EH is restricted from engaging in any investing and most likely has other restrictions placed upon her, and if she were to attempt to flee before sentencing, or does not abide by said restrictions, she would absolutely be taken into custody immediately and could then face additional punishment or harsher sentencing. The judge and the Prosecutors obviously don't believe that she poses a threat to the community or public at large, or that she is considered a flight risk, so she is allowed to be out of custody until sentencing happens. In my opinion, Ms. Holmes should use the time to educate herself about life in prison so she can survive the time she will serve behind bars.

I am so proud of this man for brave whistleblowing; I’ve done this several times without regard to my professional demise; turned out for the best, Again, so proud for those who are utmost ethical.

Tyler's grandfather sounds like an arrogant, entitled, delusionally communal narcissist who is unwilling to apologize, and for that reason, I feel so badly for Tyler. Tyler put EVERYTHING on the line here: not just his job and livelihood, but his family relationships (and they were telling him to let it go because the grandiose grandfather wanted to sweep this under the rug). George Schultz's uber-fragile-ego is why Holmes was able to do what she did. George Schultz was the person who VOUCHED for her all along, and then arrogantly recruited all that wealth (of other narcissists) and "power" to back someone and something of ZERO substance. Tyler Schulz's moral character is the shining beacon in this parade of narcissists who were too busy feeling self-important to truly examine and question the veracity of Holmes' claims, and then when warned and provided the evidence, then wanted to SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG. George Schulz should be horribly ashamed of his lack of integrity and absence of moral character, and WORSE STILL his unwillingness to apologize to his own grandson who was willing to risk everything to expose the charade and elucidate the truth. What an indelible STAIN on what could have been an amazing legacy and story of redemption (for George Schultz). Instead, George Schulz will now be remembered as having been the egotistical lynch-pin that allowed this psychopath to get the media attention, power, and funding for this con artist to perpetrate this scam. A refusal to apologize in the face of this unbelievable SCAM that cost so many people so much...... ...and of course, George Schulz has been dead for eleven months, and instead of a legacy of public service, now has a legacy as a rigid, egotistical, sweep-the-truth-under-the-rug-to-save-face narcissist. The thing I have noticed missing in all the discussion of Theranos and Holmes is that it just wasn't that she defrauded a lot of investors for a lot of money. But also think of all the true good that money could have done in real time to people. Paid for surgeries, set up free clinics, funded real research that could really help people. This debacle couldn't have happened if we really cared about good healthcare in this country. People would have taken a closer look, really scrutinized her idea if the important part of it was actually helping people. Instead, what was really important was a bunch of rich people trying to find the next start-up that would make them even more filthy rich. That is the heart of healthcare in America - money. Make money - spend money. Money, money, money. The snake on the Rod of Asclepius should be replaced with a dollar sign.

So happy for him. He and Erica Chung are the unsung heroes of all this.

If the prosecution were really trying to get her convicted on all counts. They would have had him testify being that he was the whistleblower. I think her sentence will be very light.

Wasn't Erica Cheung the initial whistleblower though? I listened to her speech about the whole horrific ordeal. According to her she was the one that told this gentleman and they went to see his grandfather who was on the board. We need to hear from her as well.
