You can tell that the interviewer was hating on Tyler hard. He is probably mad because Tyler is young and he is pursuing his dreams and has no filter and he wishes he could be somewhat like him.
I thought it was funny how Tyler explained how they were all quite and how serious facial expressions and referenced their clothing to looking dark and depressing lol. It just goes to show that all the education in the world can still make you boring and unoriginal. Education and your behavior isn't the only way you can be/show intelligence. Tyler cusses, wears "unprofessional clothing" and even in interviews says whatever comes to his mind without all the fancy words and still shows how smart he really is. Man all these people throwing him questions and he intelligently answered them. I don't care what anyone says about Tyler, this man is very smart, without the fancy words, clothing or degrees. Wolf gang!!!!!!!
why does it feel like the interviewer is doing less interviewing and more interrogating. it feels like hes trying to almost expose tyler or something. hes so set on the question on if tyler is making money off of it...after tyler has answered it several times. like, my god.
why is the interviewwer always asking about the money? Doesn't he get it? Both the guys dont need to work for food anymore. They do it because they have a passion. They already have enough money to support their basic needs.
Well put! For the interviewer it's a business prospect; investors to invest in advertisers to advertise on. More money more success. Tyler is much more motivated by change, collaboration and creation.
I don't think you get that he's wasting their time. No one gives a shit about his creative bullshit, they care about how they can make more money. He still thinks that old white people are some dorky stereotypes that are DYING to be in the same room with some snotty black kid that thinks he's cool.
I think the interviewer is trying to get at the fact that this white dude is another version of the "middle man". This guy is going to breaks Tyler's heart. He wants money. Like he said, he is from the business. He is trying to be innovative by leaching off of Tyler Brand. The interviewer was just skeptical of the guys intentions.
Dumb as shit. Tyler isn't at a comfortable level for a rich lifestyle. Barely any star has enough money to be perfectly comfortable. When you're Justin bieber Kanye, Beyoncé, sure you're set for life. But for dudes like chris brown tyler the creator ~~mostly every other star doesn't have as much money as you think. They all have less than 40m
Daniel Ian dude you hit it in a nutshell , and someone in Tyler camp need to wake him up before this dude owns him even ehen he takes a shit , if I build my brand myself there's no way I'll give this dude shit .
I love how Tyler isn't afraid to speak his mind, especially in a room full of older white people. A lot of people look at him as this black nigga with no brain that's reckless and controversial (he is in a good way), but he's really smart and knows his shit
Tyler's colourful personality is too exciting and fun for these boring people! You can tell he really doesn't want to be on that stage with those people & I love that! Love that he's so different.
I find it so cool that he's striving for bigger things, everyone who keeps asking for new music needs to realize that music isn't his main priority at the moment.
Anyone else see right at the beginning Tyler moves his chair away from the interviewer. He distanced himself coz he doesn't want to absorb that negative energy.
naw they have to be like that, its like a tactic to get to the nitty gritty, you act like you're trying to debate when really, he was probably the biggest fan in the room lol
Tyler's a genius, he's the only dude in that room on his own page, all the people there for a casual news show with their own ideas of how "this kid tyler is brainwashing kids with offensive music" and he walks in there and shows them he's on some "Go Get It" visionary stuff. Major respect.
"We're not afraid of failure" "I'm not doing this for money" The interviewer is just mad because like many other people, they're scared of change. They're scared that there's a different way to do things, other than what the traditions they've adjusted to throughout time. Just like the interviewer, so many people doubted Tyler and look what he did - he fucking proved them wrong. Do you guys not realize that Tyler does whatever the fuck he wants? And it's been working?
Seeing Tyler in a business-oriented setting is actually a very interesting juxtaposition. People getting upset over the interviewer focusing on money have to realize a few things. First, the event is being hosted by re/code, a tech news website. So obviously their audience is anticipating a certain dialogue to the interview. And it's not about Tyler's music. It's about the business model of Tyler and his business partner. These people are from the outside looking in. They're trying to learn from Tyler to fuel their own interests, which probably lean more towards business than Tyler's music. And money makes the world go round, folks.
The business acumen of these supposed "dispassionate, money-hungry douchebags" helped make Tyler as big as he is now. It's a necessary business dynamic--for Tyler, for the suits, and for the fans. And it's a science to try and attain the most profitable dynamic in any kind of business, so Tyler's success is a great case study. So that's why the interviewer is posing his questions the way he is. He's not a money-hungry prick for no reason, per se. He's just doing his job. He's not Peter Rosenberg and this isn't a Hot 97 interview.
I really like Tyler he is a free spirit and his personality probably made him successful but I feel like he can't be the same forever. Like I think it would be hard to be both professional and yourself at the same time. but it's obviously working for him tho since he's accomplished a lot. I just feel like you gotta grow up some times. I feel so old at 21. :/
@@Aesos3429 And you were right, now he needs to say he's confident and never had anxiety all the time trying to prove himself to someone. I don't blame him, after all it all helps build his public image. But he sure does act a certain way just to try to prove he doesn't care what others think. (He made a whole song attacking ASAP Nast because he said Tyler copied his style). Like someone who makes a whole song about what someone else has said about them, and doesn't care what others think? Come on...
Tyler seems to have an underlying need for attention, whether it's figgiting, flipping his phone or eating cereal when he's not talking. Then again maybe he's just not comfortable on the show or maybe it's how he just acts normally. He's really interesting though, has a lot of interesting ideas and he's articulate in an unorthodox way.
Well the interviewer was most likely pissing him off (rightfully so, he's a dumb ass) so he decided to stop giving a fuck about being polite in an interview.
I think he said somewhere that he has A.D.D and doesn't take adderall cause it makes him uncomfortable or something to that nature so I kinda understand why Tyler is so crazy and hyper.
Lucid Dreamer yeah i dont think thats true i mean i act like that and not cuz tyler act like that nAH thats just the way i am and its fun or whatever but i dont have A.D.D or do i lol nah i dont
interviews like this are gonna be fucking amazing when we look back at them, seeing how things pan out. not only with tyler but the world in general it's cool seeing people discuss it because we're shaping it every day ok i'll shut the fuck up
Tyler really did put some energy into this room by the end of the interview. Really bad interviewer but Tyler did a great job letting himself shine anyway
Beautiful to see rappers like Tyler,Kanye, jay z,50,ect branch out and do different things, they really do think that all rappers,BLACK rappers are ignorant, these men&women are very intelligent,
Chappelle was thinking of doing the same thing because he was tired of comedy central holding him back and censoring his material. The one thing I think Tyler was getting at is that the power resides in himself and his own personal branding. If Tyler said screw Adult Swim, im going to the Lifetime channel, people would start watching the Lifetime channel. And even if it takes time to "destroy the powers that be," he'd still think it was worth it because at the end of the day it's still his baby and his unedited creation. Ask Chappelle why he walked away from millions of dollars (it's because at the end of the day ot wasn't worth it to be told what to do. How many of us who go to a 9-5 everyday want to tell our boss how to do something better, but are too afraid to do it, or have already had their ideas and opinions shutdown? That's one of the worst feelings ever. To feel that you don't matter and the learned helplessness that coincides with being placed in that role).
Dude actually I really loved the video haha because Tyler came in there and stole the whole fucking business conference in a minute. lol Tyler the type of dude to make the biggest boss look unprofessional and stupid, haha
Glad to know that Tyler knows the middle man is "The Older White Guy" Stick it to the man! All Tyler wants is to be in control of his own stuff, he will have a say on what goes on. Every artist that is talented should decide to do this. Run your own shit. It's not a secret, it's just an alternative everyone seems to be afraid or unaware of cause they're used to following a pattern, someone else's pattern. Being your own boss you decide the formula. There is no wrong or right way.
Damn Tyler is a very outgoing person first interview I've ever seen with him didn't realize how big of an extrovert he is dude has a really cool personality I'm surprised he hasn't been in any movies he would be perfect for comedy films especially with Seth Rogen.
What they don't understand is that people are still gonna be paying the middle man. I don't wanna pay for my cable bills, for my netflix, and my Tyler The Creator account. While this is smart, it's more money that I don't think I'll be willing to pay even if I love Tyler The Creator's art. I along with a lot of people would wait for the content to be leaked elsewhere as it would be. They're underestimating that they're also losing funding so whereas CN paid for Loiter Squad and I paid Cartoon Network, now I'm just paying for Loiter Squad. But when I pay for Loiter Squad, I only get Loiter Squad. When I pay for Cartoon Network, I get Loiter Squad, Family Guy, American Dad, Robot Chicken, The Regular Show, Adventure Time, etc. I don't wanna pay for the artist I wanna pay for the art. I'd rather buy the NBC package and get Community, Parks and Rec and The Office than buy the Dan Harmon package and get Community and Rick and Morty. The current system sets up less art from more artists and therefore allows one hit wonders who make one amazing show to share that show with us. I see the idea and I shouldn't judge until it is released. I'm sure a lot of people would spend money on this, but I don't think I would and I don't think the TV is gonna go extinct any time soon so maybe it's too early for this innovation.
I like the idea, but it's easier said than done. I need to see progress on the the network and the organization of everything to be able to see the feasibility of it all.
All these people hating on the interviewer, its his job to get the answers out of Tyler. By him questioning and critiquing we get to hear more about the project. He cant just agree with everything he's saying, that would make for a poor interview which would be completely bias. I think that the interviewer is showing us that Tyler has an ultimate goal and no matter what people are saying about him, nothing will stop him achieving success. Great interview, everyone did a good job.
This interviewers whole shtick is to take passive aggressive hits at tyler like he's so much smarter then him when in reality tyler has all the money and life options the interviewers jealous of..and you can tell he looks down on tyler. I wish we could hear what Tyler was thinkin about this lol
