Flower Boy was a subtle and brief introduction into Tyler’s sexuality. IGOR is a full on album about his feelings towards another man. He’s letting it all out there this time.
Graham Gunderson nah, in running out of time he says "i need her out of the picture, take your mask off, stop lying for these niggas, stop lying to yourself" and in a boy is a gun he says "Boy you sweet as sugar, diabetic to the first degree" and "youre my favorite garçon". garçon = boy in french. its pretty much certain that he was writing about a boy imo. about damn time if you ask me
I wouldn't say way but I definitely love this record more than SFFB & I loved Flowerboy. It was one of my favorite records back in 2017, along with 4:44, Big Fish, & DAMN. Igor is a vibe that I wasn't expecting & wasn't too sure of off first listen where it would land but it has grown into not only my favorite record of the year for me but maybe my favorite Tyler record.

When I first listened to the album when it came out I just listened it in my bedroom relaxing and playing video games. Tyler just recommended that way.

People never pay atention to the transition of the album, he talks about a boy from the beggining to end, its a journey from falling in love with him , boy breaking his heart to saying good bye and move on,yes he talks about a girl but she its not the most important thing on one of the songs, the all album its bigger and deeper than that! I mean i dont give a fuck about his sexuality I just relate to what his saying ( cuz we know the feeling of a broken heart) , it dosent matter if he talking about a boy to me, the fucking album its fire!!! very Tyler ,much love from México guys!!! 🇲🇽🙏🏼👑🔥
Gone, Gone is the most underrated & slept on song on the entire album. It essentially describes the album concept. Not to mention, it has the longest rap flow. I actually bought Igor because of this song. It's so funky & heart-wrenching at the same time. That's not an easy combination to achieve in rap when it comes to painful matters of the heart. A real artist understands this & knows how to make it work. Tyler's way ahead of his time. His name is extremely fitting. Definitely the best out of all the new school rappers.
I love that a boy is a gun either went over their heads or they didn't wanna talk about his sexuality because it made them uncomfortable. I can tell it made dude in middle feel weird.
Yeah kanye always mumbles lyrics first as he tries to find a flow. He does it on alot of unreleased snippets. I really like how it sounds so flawed in a great way.
I have a theory on the possible story of the album. I think that it’s about Tyler’s love story with IGOR, whom Tyler is in love with, however IGOR has a girlfriend, which creates a conflicting love triangle in which Tyler wants to make IGOR choose him over the girl. Tyler is also conflicted over whether he even wants to fall in love in the first place, with a part of him wanting to run away from his feelings. EARFQUAKE is Tyler essentially crushing over IGOR, wishing he wouldn’t be distant from him and hoping he can have a chance with IGOR. I THINK, pretty self explanatory, he’s fallen in love and thinks it’s foreal. The Jerrod Carmichael interlude (EYRFYEUC) showcases the theme of Tyler running from his true feelings for IGOR. Speaking of running, RUNNING OUT TIME is Tyler trying to win IGOR over from the girl. He tries convince IGOR to “take his mask off”, or essentially come out the closet and date Tyler instead of the girl. However, Tyler’s efforts don’t work. That is until he gets a NEW MAGIC WAND, with which he will get the girl out the picture, by uh, i guess murdering her lol. This song also shows Tyler’s envy toward the girl, wanting to be IGOR’s main boo but knowing he’s just a side hoe. While he doesn’t kill her (although he would have) Tyler breaks IGOR and his girl up. Then, on BOY IS A GUN, Tyler debates making a move on his crush. The boy being a gun is a metaphor for Tyler fearing that IGOR will reject him, and how much it would hurt to be rejected by his lover. Tyler finally builds the courage to make his move on IGOR, but it doesn’t work out, as Tyler sees that IGOR is seeing his ex again, at breakfast lol. In PUPPET, Tyler feels manipulated and played by IGOR. He wonders if he “waited too long”, or if there is anything he can do to have another shot with IGOR. This song also hints at Tyler feeling like he is his fanbases PUPPET, as if we control him and the decisions he makes creatively. However, Tyler ends the song with a faint and distorted sample of the synth from 9/11 off of Flower Boy. The synth is followed by an ambulance, which to me signifies Tyler’s “old sound” dying. He’s basically saying to us that he won’t make shit that sounds like his old shit, as he wants to grow creatively and breaks the strings he feels controlled by. Aaaanyways, the next song WHATS GOOD is basically Tyler going through that “imma drink and party to get over it” stage, as well as him being like “ay IGOR what’s good man, why you gotta play me like that u asshole”. The song ends with Tyler “seeing the light”, meaning he is close to getting over his heartbreak. GONE GONE/THANK YOU is Tyler getting through the heartbreak and feeling content again, and at the same time feeling thankful for the experience. (btw THANK YOU might be the best moment of the album, apart from Carti’s verse) Then on I DONT LOVE U ANYMORE, Tyler and IGOR cross paths again, but Tyler tells to IGOR that well, he doesn’t love him anymore. However, Tyler doesn’t want to “end on a bad episode”, and so he asks IGOR: “ARE WE STILL FRIENDS”. That was really long but that’s just my take on the possible narrative behind the album. Tyler killed it

That was actually Uzi singing the whole song on Igor's Theme. Tyler was only in on the first chorus and Uzi sang with Kali Uchis the rest of the track.

The album is about a love traingle between him another guy and a woman . So Tyler in love with a man but the guy he's in love with is in love with the woman. Yeah when I found out was shocked.🤔
The fact that he kept pausing in the middle of the songs is very annoying, Tyler said listen straight through no stops no skips. Like they could have waited until each song was over to give their review instead of stopping in the middle of the songs
At one point early in the video, one of the wheels on Jerry’s chair was kind of hidden, made it look like Rob had an ankle bracelet on. I almost shit myself honestly haha. Anyway, you guys are fast affff!
