@@kfcomg000000 I think he's trying to get as far as he can on his own. He said he might get coaching, he now does puzzles, and he has started reviewing his games. But you are right, for the most part he is still just running it down lol.
@@devinfleenor3188 he can still get much farther on his own if he plays a single 30m game instead of ten 3m games. That's all he needs to do, sit down and actually think each move through for a while and his rating will go up immensely even in the faster time formats

@@HandlesL Eric has no legal moves. You can't move into check and he wasn't put into check. So it's a draw/stalemate. If the person with more pieces can't checkmate vs just a king, then they deserve a draw. A stalemate in that position is so frustrating. It's like going to the casino with $1 mill and gambling it away in one bet. Edit. Actually it's more like going to a casino, giving the house 500k without placing a bet, and then leaving.
Nobody actually expects him to win in anything other than League, he doesn't play anything else so he is naturally going to be a much worse player. He isn't particularly good at League either, difference between an average pro and Tyler1 is like comparing Kobe to a hobby basketball player. He just plays a metric fuckton. Even his Chess rating is overinflated due to the amount of games he plays, an average 300 rated player is much better than Tyler. He is 700 rated

Some mental illness are theorized to have developed because they were seen as useful long ago when we were still caveman and survival of the fittest mattered. They blow in modern society, but there are areas where they'd be more useful than being normal, dangerous situations or the like

i fully agree though, if the opponent can't make anymore moves without it putting them in check, that shouldn't be a draw, it should be a win. It's lame. If you have put your opponent into a corner where they can no longer play the game, it's a win. But that's chess and it's been around forever so everyone just accepts it even though it really makes no sense.
Stalemate is when it's your opponents turn to move, but he doesn't have any legal move to make. Stalemate is a draw. Chess, in general, is only won by checkmate or surrender.

@@icykaos6370 I get what you're saying, but those are the rules of classic chess. You can have many more pieces than your opponent on the board, but if you dont checkmate them, you are yet to win the game. For what it's worth, on a higher level of chess, the threat of stalemate (or forcing a draw) can and has been used by the player at a disadvantage in order to try and deny the more advantaged opponent the win. That being said, on that level, most people will also resign in Erobb's position (its a completely lost position, btw) because they know their opponent will not give them a stalemate.
0:11 I say this with no flame (and also no degree in behavioral health): the wife pointed this out to me (him being on the spectrum) given the food aversions, the hyperfocus and constant repetition on very specific interests, the constant repeating certain phrases when he's talking, the requirement for distinct textures of items/headsets/clothes, positions of his stuff. There are more things that could be pointed out to substantiate it, but it borders on tasteless Andy assumptions instead of the observable stuff above.
