I have never seen a 3x3 solve executed so perfectly, under the most pressure any cuber has ever faced. Congratulations Tymon Kolasiński on the 4.86 World Record Average, you deserve it.
Special thanks to Stewy and SpeedCubeDB.com for providing solve reconstructions. The solution for solve 4 (misscramble) was reconstructed by me so I apologize in advance for probably getting it all wrong.

Its kinda crazy to think about how cubing has progressed, I started cubing when the wr average for 3x3 is 5.53 by feliks and I thought it was gonna be there for a long time since no one was around to beat it, and now there is tymon who got 4.86 which I wouldn't have thought of back then since sub 5 is not something that happened so often back then. Congrats to tymon and I predict that sub 4 average will be gotten in April 2026 by tymon Just kidding we all know Dylan will break the sub 4 barrier

I think that the 3x3 WR single will happen first before the first sub 4 3x3 average considering the fact that you will need counting 3s in order for sub 4 average to happen. I could be wrong on this one but I'm just assuming.

I’m more in favor of the theory sub 4 ao5 isn’t for this decade if it happens whatsoever Like, come on the best of the best cubers nowadays get 3s like no more often than one solve out of 100 What’s the chance of getting at least 3 of them in the same average in comp? Non existent

@@nape6625 why would you need 3 sub 3 solves to get sub 4? Typo or what?

@@DeltaInsanity do your math well technically you can do it with just 2 3's, but then you gotta have 2 counting very low 4s and both of your 3s have to be low too, so more realistic is having 3 3s, one 4 and one not counting solve that can be anything.

2:00 My guess for a sub-4 average is year 2030. Reasoning: The first ever official sub-5 is the 4.90 WR set by Lucas Etter 7 YEARS ago. Now we have over 150+ sub-5 singles in 2022. Tymon broke the sub-5 average barrier with a 4.86!!! As the times get faster and faster , it gets exponentially harder to beat the record. as of now we have only 3 sub-4 solves. To get an insane sub-4 avg not only requires insane skill, but also insane amounts of luck. Thats why guess for when it might be achieved is 2030. but then again Max park broke 6 WRs back to back in a SINGLE day. anything is possible.

I'm still just so shocked that he got a sub-5 on the mis-scramble, had to solve another cube in less than 5 seconds on demand when he thought he was safe and got a world record, and then SOMEHOW managed to actually fight pressure that intense and get a sub-5 solve for the world record. Tymon's skill confuses me more than anything else in cubing, probably even Square-1 parity! If I were in his spot, I'd probably be more stressed than I've been for anything, and that's coming from a big introvert who's has to do a speech in front of more than a hundred people. Realistically, I don't know how soon we'll get an average to beat this, obviously Max Park is a complete anomaly and always strikes whenever is most optimal, but sub-5 is a pretty big thing to beat. Honestly, I think at this point we're getting kinda overdue for a new world record single, this November is 4 years of saying 3.47 seconds and with all the world record trading between Tymon and Max I think there's a decent possibility with a really good scramble one of them can edge it out for a new world record single, or maybe we just have another case of someone no one's heard of before getting a world record single by half a second maybe Yusheng Du will get Yusheng Du'd who knows

Just saw that Max Park tied the record. Which raises a question for me. If stackmats have 3 digits after the decimal point. Why are records not incuding this? Unless my math is off. Based on the solves. Tymon still edges Max out when you use the 3rd decimal. Considering the records are getting closer and closer to physical limits. Why isn't the WCA changing this thing?

I think the best way to do the zbll on solve 5 is first U as a lh push, second U normal index, and then F2 from home grip as a fast RH thumb F’ LH index F’. Then to save overwork I do the next U2 as a left hand beido push and then it’s all straightforward from there

One question for your next Q&A, is it worth going to the fall open comp in Las Vegas, even if you live across the country?

I started cubing a few months before Lucas enter broke the sub 5 single barrier. That was insane to me back then. Now Tymon is getting an average at that pace? Amazing.

Jperm I have just started learning blind folded 3x3 and I struggle to come up with words for a lot of the letter pairs, so I was wondering if you could send a the letter pairs that you use just to help out people like me. Also thanks for the great video! It is really helpful breaking down the greatest solves for everyone.
