It is my understanding that macrophages do NOT travel through the lymph system to nodes, etc. after maturing and presenting antigen, but stay in local tissues. It is the dendritic cell that is the one that does this. A nobel prize was awarded to Dr. Steinman (post humorously) for this research in 2011.

gr8 vid!! why for allergy tests they do it only once, coz we know if the person is allergic to an allergen they will not show any reaction in the first exposure because specific IgE's are not made it is the second exposure to allergen which IgE's are sat in mast/basophils and ready to react so why in all hospitals and clinics they do the test only once?

impressive lecture, i gat a question can you make it clear for me? in your explanation regarding hyphothesis, I'm not clear about how it's possible an increase in IgE level which is produced to certain antigens in western individuals can be able to crosslinked by a specific allergen. do you mean these types of antibodies lack specificity? generally, an increase in IgE level can be the manifestation of type I allergy but, I don't think that parasites non specifically react with the antibody and consumed it?

One small doubt during sensitisation phase whether lymphocytes migrate to site of infection
@DrSS18
@DrSS18 6 лет назад
sir. at 50:03 . u said that complements are split by proteases, which in turn are released by degranulation (in first phase of Hypersensitivity reaction). sir, but splitting the complements will lead to inflammatory response, and inflammatory response occurs in second phase only and not in first phase! How is this contradiction sir?

Why the B cell is not activated by IL4 and IL5 if these chemicals only for thier receptors to bind not allergens or antigens

Sir, in your previous lectures, you said that IL-4 (which activates the T0 cell and differentiates it into Th2 which then also secretes IL-4 and 5 and stimulates the B cell ) comes from an unknown cell/source. Does this mean that macrophages secrete IL-4 as well? Also, I would like to ask you a question about creating immune tolerance in transplant patients before receiving the graft . I would be thrilled if you could take the time to answer it. P.S. You have no idea how much you've helped me and your videos are just..awesome :)
