I've understood that the original drummer Sal Abruscato played real drums on the band's first three records and they used a drum machine for October Rust, World Coming Down and Life Is Killing Me. I still don't know why they did that, though. Something to do with saving time (=money) from the recording sessions and maybe Peter being a dick about some of the takes? I haven't listened to many live versions of those songs but I would imagine I can't hear much difference anyway. Johnny Kelly still made the drum programming when they used the machine anyway Nice ranking though. I've listened to a ton of the first two albums recently so I would probably rank them a bit higher at the moment but where, not sure :D I do like some of the Origin of the Feces versions of the songs more. At least Kill You Tonight + reprise are better than Xero Tolerance for me
