I would even venture to say he is the best. His creativity in their music always blew mind. Everything he writes in to their music seems like the perfect fit. He never tries to be the main focus of any song. His levels just blend like they should. He is Truly the Perfect fit for Type O. I understand he is a Parametic these days. Could you imagine , being in his shoes and one day getting a true understanding of how many people's lives you have affected? Each career, so many people . Awesome
REALLY!!? WOA NO WORDS FOR THAT YOU ARE VERY LUCKY, PETER IS A GREAT INSPIRATION TO ME, HIS LYRICS,HIS WAY HE TALKED, SENSE OF HUMOR, WHAT A GREAT MAN REALLY, I SEE HIM AND I THINK: WHY HE DIED? THIS SONG FOR EXAMPLE IS A MASTERPIECE FULL OF FEELINGS AND INSPIRATION BLESSES FOR PETER!!!!
Read an article about them in '97, and loved their look and sense of humor. I got the first 2 albums and they've been my favorite band ever since (21 years and counting).
The last time I saw Type O,....I met Johnny Kelly walking down the street. It was this bizarre and awesome encounter. It was like saying hey to an old friend, though we had never met. Just a casual hey hows it going conversation. Then he asked me where the nearest bar was. haha. Long live Type O Negative.
@@jimwilliams7180 thats a pretty cool story Jim i wasnt lucky enough to meet or even see them live which will always suck but my story for you was back in 2010 gwar came to my city for the second time in a year and they played a small club and i just happened to go down about an hour before the show seen this old tour bus thinking ok gwar is in there so i waited for a few mins and after seing no one was ready to leave when in the distance he came none other then dave brockie man he was a really down to earth guy he spent about 20 mins just talking to me i had a poster to get signed i have him my pen he took it and threw it away and i thought ok maybe he doesnt want to sign it but no he took out a large sharpie and said this works better and get it to me and said make sure you get the rest of the band to sign it when they get off the bus which i did so thats my gwar story but sadly both peter and dave are gone but we will always have there music to listen too and enjoy hope you meet more great bands and share your story
And here I am again, depressed, with a broken heart and listening to my favourite TON song. This one has a special meaning to me, yeah, she really hates me!
It's funny how you can be in such a passionate relationship at one instant and suddenly there's nothing but bitter feelings, I guess there really is a fine line between love and hate.
I saw them 11 times. They are the only band that comes close to Black Sabbath for me. They were cool people, Peter had one amazingly huge, unmistakable voice, and I'll never forget those times.
James McDaniel unfortunately the RnR HOF is a political entity run by elitist snobs - would LOVE for TON to be inducted but sadly, those jerks rarely give any credit to heavier acts. If you haven’t, check out Soul on Fire, the bio Jeff Wagner wrote on Peter. Even die-hards like me found some new cool information in it.
have to disagree, the mix is "off". You can't hear JOSH's playing on the "distorted" parts only the "standard keyboard" sounds. I think he sub mixed in his rack and only the feed from his GM MIDI sound module (organ and pan flute) and the Kurzweill (keyboard on his left with the OOH OHH female samples/bell sounds" were sent to the house/studio mixer. Leaving the "distortion backing sound" to only play for him locally in his personal monitoring speakers. Also note how little distortion peter had on this take, I think that was done to lighten the sound more for "popular" appeal. I think this would have been a GREAT SINGLE for the band from Rust, but IMO the "best" live version is on the AFTER DARK DVD. A faster tempo and over all blend on the sounds. Stay Negative
for referance, watch the performance from TOO LATE FROZEN (also on this channel) pete has NO distortion, and you can hear JOSH playing with him with the "distortion" sound he uses. Again, and ODD mix.
My heart aches every time I see Peter Steele. He's so gorgeous it hurts. I've never been so obsessed with a man in my life. He's part of my everyday thoughts. God I want to meet him in the next world.
Kenny and Josh were certainly not the most technically talented musicians out there, however, they knew how to sound good note selection, effects and sounds.
This is my favorite song ever. Can't explain why....last year I visited Pier 6 in Brooklyn for the first time and it was surreal to stand there and see the girl holding the torch, brooklyn bridge, Red Hook.....RIP Peter. Blessings to Kenny, Josh and Johnny....thx for this masterpiece.
more than twenty years listening to Type O Negative, and I can't get enough... it's life, it's passion, it's the contrast that inflames me and makes my blood boil 💚 -O
The most handsome man in the world. The most beautiful voice, the best singer so long. We did not lose a person, we lost THE PERSON. I would like to go too
Dont forget ronnie james dio he was also a very down to earth guy that man could he ever sing and also gotta add r.i.p to.wayne static were loosing way to many great bands its getting harder every year
I had the glorious pleasure of a TYPE O NEGATIVE show on this tour in 99 Twin Cities and once more in 07 Lawrence,KS. Both shows were stellar but 2007 had the pleasure of hanging with Peter, and Johnny! Was unforgettable indeed. Both were awesome to chat with but without a doubt Peter had this amazing energy about him. I feel that energy every song every time since meeting him. Thank u for sharing. Thank u TYPE O NEGATIVE for the incredible music.
Just left from sauna and wanted to listen some type o.it`s august now and raining in finland.Greetings from here fellows.Pete was realle a great songwriter🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Love this song, hell the whole album October rust kicks major ass, the band kicks ass, Peter Steele kicks major ass, everything about this band was perfect, RIP Peter
Sorry when Lennon was shot,Ifelt litle/When Bonnan died i was saddened,Cobain ah it was a shame, but the loss of PETER STEELE,was tragic ,every time Ilisten or watch this video I cant help but feel the pain of his loss,of musics Giant
R.I.P Pete! Hope you're having a Halloween in Heaven with Dimebag! It hurts my heart to know i'll never experience another TON show. The joy of a toilet paper fight, or chanting "you suck"!. You never sucked, you were the best!
This Performance IMMORTALIZES Type O Negative... I went to New York, walked Pier 6, and saw the Lonely Blue Girl(Lady Liberty) shaking her Brown Torch at the Tide... I walked the Molten Oil Painted Brooklyn Bridge. I walked the streets buzzed and feeling Furry Vino on the insides. I lived this song to honor Peter. Every Type O Negative fan should go to New York and do the same.
I want to desperately make love to every TON song.... they are so seductive and mysterious. So bewitching and captivating. One of a kind. There will never be a voice as mesmerizing as Peter f'ing Steele. This band is incredible. Haunting and eerie. Pure magic. 🖤💚🖤
My first experience with Type O Negative was driving my ‘76 Trans Am across the Skyway Bridge in Florida. It must have been the middle of the night and 98 Rock out of Tampa Bay played Christian Woman. I was hooked. I’ve been a devoted fan ever since.
I can’t even describe what this song does to me. First heard at age 16 (1998) and absolutely blown away. So f weird seeing Peters face and TON on tshirts these days at mainstream retailers but also pretty dang cool
Dave ellefson is the f'n man. He always goes up to the drumming during difficult parts to make sure they stay tight. I f'n love that shi so much. I used to do that with my drummer/brother.
Soundcheck memories. Wedge & Mike A keeping the train on the tracks. Hey Josh, here's a smoke~ I can smell the sweat, the taste of the fog from the hazers, and the cotton-candy scent of the snow in "TL:F" I remember and I don't like the way things turned out.
Impraise of Bacchus Impraise of Bacchus Impraise of Bacchus Impraise of Bacchus Impraise of Bacchus SO FUCKING WHAT. This video has incredible lighting, incredible sound and incredible camera angles. Stop paying attention to petty details and enjoy the fucking video
Bradford Thornton what i like about this version is the different approach to the song. vocals are a lot less distorted lol and the stage looked incredible. try listening to it again with earphones maybe?
michael96412 They used a chorus effect for the vocals in the recording in order to simulate more of a "drunkenness" so to speak. I'd think that you'd be surprised at how great the recording sounds. Even with the effects the vocals are crystal clear! Actually sounds better than this video.
Bradford Thornton they used chorus on almost every song they recorded. And not to be an elitist but if you don’t like watching a bands live videos as well as the album you are only a casual fan thus your opinion matters that much less
