What a great video! Never knew I was a self-preserving 3! To mature and to become a healthier-3 is the best feeling.. and I hope to keep making progress both externally and internally.
This was super informative. I'm at a big crossroads in my life and doing a lot of soul searching. I think I'm the Self-Preservation 3. It's super hard to love myself. This video made me think, and it made me uncomfortable. If what you said is true, I'm going to have a lot of difficult work to do to start to love myself.
Thanks! Making people think and making people uncomfortable is basically my goal. Thinking and discomfort is a great first step to growth. For what it’s worth, we all have a lot of work to do to love ourselves. It looks different in each type but I think that each type struggles with it in their own unique way. So… you’re not alone!
Unfortunately I’m not very well-versed in Myers-Briggs, beyond knowing that I’m an ISTJ. This channel is Enneagram specific, at least for the time being.
I think of Wings as “flavoring”, like adding salt and pepper. Doesn’t change the core Type, just spices it up and gives a unique take on it. There are bajillions of ways to teach and learn the Enneagram, including Tritypes. *Personally* I haven’t found the value in Tritypes, and find it to be overly complicated and unnecessary. However, if others find it valuable for learning more about themselves and others, I’m all for it. To each his own.
Well... tritypes aren't really something I'm into. If people find value in it and it helps them better understand themselves and others, I'm all for it. But personally it's not something I've found the value in. To each their own!
@@TypeCast yeah i didn't know about your Shorts videos, but i do know now. besides, could you make long-form videos about "Enneagram Type Two in Film and Television" and "Type Eight: A Study in Enneagram Subtypes"? they seem to be lack!
Which country are you in? Some of my content is blocked in certain countries because of copyright restrictions. Specifically some Northern European and African countries.
Yep, unfortunately that’s on the list. If you look on the About section of my RU-vid page you’ll find my email address. Send me an email and we’ll figure something out.
I have a Type Eight Subtype video, although it might be blocked in your country because of copyright restrictions. What country are you in? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZFoY_NtHmEo.html
All the types are up in both series, but some of my videos are blocked in certain countries because of copyright restrictions. What country are you in?
@@TypeCast Ohhh, I see all the videos on your "Videos" page. They just don't show up on your main/"Home" page. I usually check the Videos page for this reason, and I just forgot to this time!
Actually wait a second, I'm not too sure about these... 🤔 Jordan Belfort from Wolf of Wall Street seems more like a 7, no? and Chris Gardner from Pursuit of Happyness seems more like a 6 than a 3?
They both happen to be real people so I don’t know what they’d Type as in real life. And of course on-screen portrayals can be very subjective. But I think Belfort is driven more by the success and the relational connection than the fun and excitement. Sevens want the excitement because they’re running away from pain and sadness. If they keep having fun, they don’t have to experience the bad stuff… cause the bad stuff ain’t fun! Belfort gets wrapped up in the drugs and lifestyle, but those aren’t what drive him. It’s the prestige, the success, the connection with Naomi that drives him. Gardner isn’t driven by fear like a Six. He’s getting his needs for security met through career success and working hard. He’s too self-possessed and independent to be a Self-Pres or Social Six, and he’s not antagonistic enough to be a Sexual Six. But of course that’s just the way that I see it, and these videos can act like a Rorschach test for all of us.
I’ve had a hard time with Threes throughout my life. As a Type One myself, I think in some ways there’s a natural tension between the One and the Three. But I’ve also recently met some healthy Threes and they’ve been “redemptive” for me. Every Type has something positive and negative to bring to the world, it’s just a question of how healthy we are.
